Dungeon Corpse Stacker: I Absorb Everything to Become Ominous Monarch
Chapter 168: Synthesis of the Deep-Sea Chimeras
The deep ocean water three miles off the disputed maritime demarcation line in the central Pacific was a vast, freezing expanse of black obsidian fluid that seemed to swallow every ray of sunlight before it could pierce ten feet beneath the surface.
There was no wind across the open swells, only a heavy, greasy swell rolling sluggishly from the south, carrying with it the unmistakable metallic tang of high-density ozone and the cold, unyielding pressure of the deep oceanic trenches.
On the navigation bridge of the shadow flagship Aegis-Zero, the digital tactical displays glowed with a sharp, steady emerald light.
Chief Quartermaster Miller stood hunched over the primary sonar console, his wire-rimmed spectacles reflecting the scrolling lines of telemetry data as he monitored the outer perimeter lines.
"We have reached the fifty-nautical-mile demarcation boundary, Sovereign," Miller reported, his voice tight with professional concentration as his fingers danced across the glass keyboard. "Our long-range acoustic arrays indicate that a combined strike group from the Western Coalition has just crossed into the adjacent sector. Three heavy guided-missile destroyers and one nuclear attack submarine are currently holding position just outside our territorial waters."
Renan stood before the wide reinforced observation window of the command bridge, his dark woolen coat buttoned tightly to his throat, his hands resting casually inside his deep pockets.
His violet eyes looked out across the empty, dark swells of the ocean where the horizon vanished into a thick wall of grey sea mist.
Behind his right shoulder, Shadow Knight Arthur stood motionless like an iron sentinel, his silver-black pauldrons humming with the cold, suppressed light of the severed crown relic, his six-foot claymore resting upright against the steel deck.
"They brought warships to look at a boundary line, Miller?" Renan asked softly, his voice calm, level, and entirely devoid of amusement.
"They brought a message, Sovereign," Boss Victor interjected, walking out from the communications alcove with a fresh, unlit cigar clamped firmly between his yellowed teeth. "The Geneva World Federation realized that after Zurich and Tokyo, they cannot blockade our commercial ports with economic embargoes alone. They are testing whether our maritime defenses are real or just a paper shadow."
Renan did not turn around. His gaze remained fixed on the grey mist hanging over the western swells.
"A paper shadow does not leave an ocean empty when it passes through," Renan murmured, his voice dropping into a quiet resonance that vibrated through the steel deck plates of the bridge.
Renan raised his right hand, extending his bare palm toward the wide observation glass facing the open sea.
[Skill Activated: Abyssal Summoning - Deep-Sea Chimera Deployment] [Authority: Tier-4 Continental Hegemon] [Target: Sector Zero Maritime Demarcation Line] [Action: Releasing Two Divisions of Amphibious Shadow Constructs from Core Domain]
The dark water three hundred yards off the bow of Aegis-Zero did not churn with the violent bubbling or propeller cavitation characteristic of conventional naval launches.
It simply parted.
From the black depths of the ocean floor, two thousand shadow constructs rose simultaneously to the surface like an impenetrable wall of living obsidian.
They were the newly synthesized Deep-Sea Chimeras, born from the biomassa harvested from the Tokyo Bay vault and fused with the condensed abyssal mana of the Abyssal Soul Forge.
Standing over nine feet tall, their amphibious frames were covered in interlocking scales of dark void-steel that absorbed every shred of ambient light, rendering them entirely invisible to radar and thermal imaging alike.
Along their thick shoulders and muscular arms, webbed claws tipped with razor-sharp monofilament talons dripped with pressurized deep-sea water, and their massive jaws were lined with double rows of jagged teeth designed to tear through the reinforced steel hull of a nuclear submarine as if it were wet cardboard.
At the head of the two divisions stood the seven Abyssal Sea-Drake Prime units, their colossal one-hundred-foot serpentine bodies gliding through the surface swells with effortless, terrifying grace.
Their double-crested horns pointed like lances toward the western horizon, and their empty eye sockets burned with steady, unyielding argent embers that cast bright violet reflections across the dark sea.
Inside the command combat center of the lead Western Coalition destroyer, the USS Constitution, the tactical officers stared in absolute horror at their primary radar and sonar displays.
" Sir! Multiple high-speed biological contacts surfacing directly on the demarcation line!" the primary radar technician screamed, his voice cracking as his hands flew across his console. "They are moving at forty knots without any acoustic signature! No screw noise, no cavitation, nothing!"
The task force commander, a hardened American rear admiral named Harrison, slammed his fist onto the armrest of his command chair, his face turning pale under the red emergency combat lights.
"Launch active sonar pulses across the entire sector!" Harrison barked, leaning over the tactical table. "If they are submersibles, light them up with targeting locks! Fire warning depth charges if they cross fifty yards!"
Before the sonar operators could execute the order, the water surrounding the USS Constitution and its three sister warships went completely dead.
It was not a mechanical failure or a localized electrical brownout.
The twenty-four thousand units of core density radiating from the two thousand shadow chimeras stationed across the perimeter flooded the surrounding cubic mile of ocean with an overwhelming, crushing gravimetric pressure that froze every digital screen, scrambled every radio frequency, and choked the fuel injectors of every turbine engine within the fleet.
The four advanced warships of the Western Coalition died simultaneously, their massive gas-turbine engines coughing once before grinding to a silent, permanent halt, leaving the iron leviathans drifting helplessly upon the rolling black swells.
On the bridge of Aegis-Zero, Sylas looked up from his tactical terminal, his optical visor flashing with green confirmation readouts as he monitored the helpless enemy fleet through the long-range optical scopes.
"The Coalition strike group’s navigation and propulsion systems have been completely neutralized by our gravimetric field, Sovereign," Sylas reported, his voice dry and precise. "Their radios are dead, their reactors are offline, and their crew quarters are currently locked down by their own automated emergency systems."
Renan lowered his hand, turning away from the observation window to face Arthur, Victor, and Miller.
"We did not come to sink their ships, Sylas," Renan spoke calmly, buttoning the top collar of his dark woolen coat. "We came to show them the boundary of our domain."
Renan walked toward the heavy steel lift doors leading down to the lower embarkation deck, his leather boots making firm, rhythmic steps against the floor.
"Arthur," Renan called out without looking back.
"Standing by, Sovereign," the silver knight answered instantly, falling into step behind his left shoulder.
"Take fifty shadow skirmishers and board the lead destroyer," Renan commanded, his tone dropping into a quiet, absolute authority. "Tell Admiral Harrison that his warships are trespassing in our waters. If he wishes to recover his fleet, he may send a diplomatic delegation to Sector Zero to negotiate the release terms under the Sovereign Black-Market Covenant."
"And if they refuse to negotiate?" Arthur asked, his hand resting firmly on the pommel of his claymore.
Renan stopped at the open elevator doors, his violet eyes glowing with cold, unyielding light as he looked out toward the silent, drifting hulls of the Western Coalition fleet.
"Then the sea will keep their iron," Renan answered softly, stepping into the lift as the heavy doors slid shut, sealing the fate of the naval patrol and establishing the absolute dominion of the Ominous Monarch across the oceans of the world.
