Dual Worlds: I Have a Doomsday World

Chapter 510 - 319: Lin Qi: You Know Each Other?

"These abilities don’t belong to any known Extraordinary Profession. Therefore, the intelligence department’s analysis concludes that this individual is most likely a Wizard Professional or a Native Extraordinary."

"If they are a Native Extraordinary, then much of the power displayed during this battle may have been channeled through Extraordinary Items, rather than being their own innate ability."

"The intelligence suggests their core ability is focused on a unique form of cellular manipulation."

There was only one battle to go on. While "No. 5" put on a grand enough display, that very fact limited data acquisition.

The scene was filled with too much extraneous information.

For instance, the several-hundred-meter-tall body only served to temporarily trap the monster during the fight.

It seemed entirely excessive.

The intelligence team, led by Yu Xixi, racked their brains but couldn’t figure out why "No. 5" would create such a massive body.

’Is their ability intrinsically linked to their physical size?’

’The stronger the power they use, the larger they get?’

This was just speculation. With no more data to support it, it could only be recorded in the file as a hypothesis.

Baili Xueyuan mulled over the intelligence report, murmuring to herself, "A Wizard, you say..."

Baili Xueyuan recalled that in that Dead Ghost’s Mercenary Corps, there had indeed been a mysterious Wizard.

Back then, she had paid a considerable "price" to pry information out of that Dead Ghost and learn about the composition of that mysterious Mercenary Corps.

She’d swung the whip until her wrist ached...

Hearing Baili Xueyuan, Yu Xixi offered a correction. "Minister Baili, we still can’t confirm whether they’re a Wizard or a Native Extraordinary."

For an intelligence officer, precision was everything.

Baili Xueyuan glanced at her but didn’t say anything more.

Just then, new information arrived. Yu Xixi’s expression was one of surprise as she received the new intelligence.

"Minister Baili, new intel. The DNA analysis on the flesh and blood samples is complete."

"The tests show the cellular DNA is a perfect match for Sister Li, a Tier Three Extraordinary from our Assassin Alliance."

"But that’s impossible! Sister Li has a clean record, and there’s no way she’s a Native Extraordinary or a Wizard."

Yu Xixi couldn’t wrap her head around how No. 5 could possibly be connected to Sister Li.

Sister Li was a veteran of the Assassin Alliance, a member who had been raised and trained by the organization since childhood.

Baili Xueyuan’s expression changed abruptly at her words.

’Sister Li’s DNA?’

’Sister Li is supposed to be protecting Lin Xin right now!’

Baili Xueyuan immediately said to Yu Xixi, "You all continue surveying the scene. I have to leave."

Seeing Baili Xueyuan begin to activate her power as the light around her started to distort, Yu Xixi quickly said, "Minister Baili, Liu Xingyuan is still waiting to see you!"

The next second, Baili Xueyuan vanished before Yu Xixi’s eyes.

’Liu Xingyuan?’

’Not important!’

’Let him wait!’

’He’s not nearly as important as Lin Xin!’

...

Inside Lin Xin’s room on the second floor of the No. 1 Prosthetic Clinic.

"Sister-in-law, don’t turn around. Just pretend I’m my brother..."

The moment Baili Xueyuan appeared, she was greeted by Lin Xin’s outrageous words, and her face instantly darkened.

"Ahem!"

Baili Xueyuan cleared her throat.

Startled, Lin Xin quickly sat up.

Only then did she see that the person who had cleared their throat was Baili Xueyuan.

Lin Xin immediately chided, "Teacher, what are you doing here? You scared me!"

After her playful complaint, Lin Xin quickly asked, "Teacher, has the crisis in Red Fruit City been resolved?"

Lin Xin had a quick mind. If the crisis in Red Fruit City hadn’t been resolved, her teacher wouldn’t have had the time to come see her.

Confirming that Lin Xin was safe, Baili Xueyuan sighed in relief and nodded. "The situation is mostly resolved. You should get some rest. I just came to check on you and make sure you weren’t leaking any more secrets."

After speaking, perhaps to avoid any awkwardness, the light and shadows around Baili Xueyuan began to distort.

Without even using the door, she simply flickered out of Lin Xin’s room, reappearing on the first floor and sitting down on a sofa in the reception area.

Baili Xueyuan sank into thought. ’Nothing happened to Lin Xin, so what on earth is that ’No. 5’ trying to do?’

’Those DNA traces must have been left deliberately. There’s definitely nothing wrong with Sister Li herself. This is just a show of force, a threat directed at me.’

Baili Xueyuan’s mind was filled with the image of that colossal, mountain-like figure.

This person had played too great a role in the battle.

They had almost single-handedly turned the tide of the battle.

Using Extraordinary means to nullify the monster’s abilities... such a method was unprecedented. It almost defied Baili Xueyuan’s understanding of Extraordinary Power.

This didn’t seem like a method a Tier Four should possess.

Baili Xueyuan continued to ponder. ’If I had tried to stop them just now, things might not have ended so peacefully. By leaving Sister Li’s DNA behind, ’No. 5’ was warning me that he knows the Assassin Alliance’s intelligence like the back of his hand.’

’This person might be closely associated with the top-tier cyber hacker that Dead Ghost mentioned.’

Baili Xueyuan’s train of thought was already galloping wildly down the wrong track.

The methods Lin Qi had used to conceal his identity were working far better than he’d expected.

Leaving Sister Li’s DNA hadn’t been a deliberate choice; it was an act of desperation.

With Decomposition Mimicry combined with Rapid Growth, once Lin Qi relinquished control, he could no longer alter the biological information of the malformed entity.

Furthermore, the only Tier Three Extraordinary in the vicinity that Lin Qi could analyze was Sister Li.

To maximize his combat power, Lin Qi couldn’t just use Decomposition Mimicry on some random person. Sister Li was his only viable target.

If he’d had any other choice, Lin Qi would never have picked a target so close to home; it made it too easy to expose himself.

Thankfully, Baili Xueyuan hadn’t connected the several-hundred-meter-tall monster to Lin Qi in the slightest. His plan to hide his identity was a resounding success.

Just as Baili Xueyuan’s thoughts were drifting, a familiar voice suddenly reached her ears.

The voice was coming from the stairs that led down to the underground operating room.

Master Ma was being incredibly enthusiastic toward Lin Qi. "A divine healer! A divine healer!"

"Brother, you’re a miracle worker! Your surgical work is unbelievably fast and good! If I ever have friends in Red Fruit City who need prosthetic surgery, I’ll definitely recommend your No. 1 Prosthetic Clinic!"

"By the way, Brother, would it be okay to add you on my private comms? The new Prosthetic Body plan you came up with for me is brilliant. Using additional prosthetics to expand the body’s capacity—that’s a stroke of genius, and it actually works!"

"After this Electro-shock High-Temp Explosive Bull was installed, I haven’t even turned it on, and I can already feel my body is so much more comfortable. My prosthetic capacity has definitely increased!"

"Divine healer, I can pay you remotely later on to help me customize future prosthetic implantation plans!"

Master Ma was in an excellent mood. The surgery for King Arthur next door wasn’t even halfway done, yet his was already finished.

Not only were his old prosthetics installed and calibrated, but a new one was implanted as well!

The new prosthetic was even a custom-modified version that the young Prosthetic Doctor had created right in front of him from a standard, top-of-the-line Divine Iron Bull model.

Lin Qi naturally wouldn’t refuse Master Ma. This was a chance to establish contact with him using the cover of his real identity.

Although he couldn’t reveal his identity as a member of the Mercenary Corps just yet, it was always a good thing to build a friendly relationship with a Tier Four Powerhouse, no matter which identity he was using.

Lin Qi said to Master Ma, "Sir, I’m just glad you’re satisfied. It’s our duty as Prosthetic Doctors. But you must remember, this method of mine for increasing prosthetic capacity isn’t this effective for everyone."

Lin Qi meant every word he said.

If not for Master Ma’s somewhat twisted psyche, a mere entertainment-class prosthetic wouldn’t have had such an exaggerated effect on his E-value.

It almost brute-forced a whole new S-Class capacity slot for him!

The results were outstanding!

After exchanging contact information, the two of them came up to the first floor.

Lin Qi was just about to invite Master Ma to have a seat in the reception area and wait for his father and King Arthur to finish their surgeries.

Suddenly, Lin Qi saw a familiar face.

He saw Baili Xueyuan and Master Ma staring at each other from a distance. Master Ma’s newly calibrated leg prosthetics suddenly gave out, and he stumbled.

Baili Xueyuan had scared him.

’What is she doing here?’

Lin Qi, however, was mentally prepared. He glanced left, then right, enjoying the show and not afraid of stirring up trouble. After all, Master Ma showing up at the Prosthetic Clinic was just a coincidence. "Sir," Lin Qi began, "do you two... know each other?"
