Dreven Academy: I seduced the Alpha king for revenge.
Chapter 70: ⁷⁰: erratic behaviour
Kael’s POV
"Make sure a disciplinary committee is established against Principal Whitmore and that he is dealt with according to the rules," I said, my voice turning cold.
The more I thought about what had happened, the more my anger grew.
What would have happened if Athena hadn’t been someone I knew? If I had never found out about this?
How many other students could have been treated unfairly simply because they lacked the influence of a powerful family?
I could never allow something like this to continue under my administration. Everyone who served under me needed to understand that their position did not give them the right to act however they pleased.
"And also instruct the committee to inform Athena Moonvel that she is to resume her classes starting tomorrow. Appropriate action should also be taken against Maria Vale."
"Yes, Alpha."
Ryan turned around, clearly understanding that our conversation was over.
"Stop, Ryan."
He immediately turned back toward me.
Another question had just occurred to me.
"The report you must have received about this incident, what reason did Principal Whitmore give for taking such strict action against Athena?"
Ryan’s expression remained as composed as ever.
"Alpha, he stated that Maria Vale had been involved in a deadly car accident very recently. Despite knowing about the accident, Miss Moonvel still injured her, particularly around the head, which could have put her recovery at serious risk. According to Principal Whitmore, Miss Moonvel therefore needed to face strict disciplinary action. However, he claimed that he showed her some leniency because she is the Dravera holder."
My brows furrowed. "She was in a deadly car accident?"
"Yes, Alpha."
"How old is this information?"
"Not very old," Ryan replied. "The accident happened on the Young Master’s birthday."
I paused. "So recently?" The thought made me even more curious.
"If it really was a deadly accident and she was still at risk, how did she recover so quickly?" I asked. "I couldn’t tell from the footage that she had recently been through something that serious, let alone a deadly accident."
Ryan hesitated. It was barely noticeable, but I caught it immediately.
"Speak."
"Alpha..." He paused again before continuing. "Young Master healed her with his own blood."
My expression changed. "Louis?"
"Yes, Alpha."
"When you asked where he was on his birthday that night, he was at the hospital. That’s when he healed Miss Vale."
"He healed that girl with his blood?" I stared at Ryan, finding it difficult to believe what I had just heard.
Louis wasn’t someone who casually offered his blood to others. In our world, ones blood wasn’t something insignificant. Healing someone with it required a level of trust and willingness that went beyond ordinary courtesy.
And Louis had done that for Maria.
My mind immediately went back to the way she had behaved today.
Suddenly, everything felt more complicated. Did Louis actually like her?
Had there been something between them that I didn’t know about?
I had never imagined there would be a day when my brother’s feelings toward someone would leave me this unsettled.
And of all people... Maria Vale? I couldn’t explain why, but something about this didn’t sit right with me.
"Are you certain?" I asked.
"Absolutely, Alpha."
I looked down at my desk, my thoughts becoming increasingly tangled.
I had spent the entire day dealing with dark magic, an attack on the Empire, and the possibility that someone close to me was working against us and now this? What more is there for me to know now?
"Is Louis in a relationship with that girl?" I asked.
The question seemed obvious to me. If he had gone as far as saving her with his own blood, surely there had to be something between them.
"No, Alpha." Ryan’s answer only left me more confused. "They aren’t in a relationship. Miss Vale does keep acting as though they are, but they aren’t. You know how the Young Master is. He isn’t committed to any of the girls he spends time with."
"What?" I frowned. "If they aren’t even in a relationship, then why did Louis go as far as saving her with his blood?" I asked, my disappointment growing. "That’s an incredibly intimate thing to do. He can’t simply go around doing something like that without thinking about the consequences!"
Saving someone with your blood wasn’t an insignificant gesture. It was a transfer of one’s own strength and essence. Depending on the circumstances, it could even be seen as giving someone a part of yourself.
How could Louis be so careless? I looked up at Ryan, another question forming in my mind.
"I would have understood if you found out by looking into it that they weren’t together. But how do you know that girl keeps going around claiming that she and Louis are in a relationship."
Ryan cleared his throat. The gesture immediately caught my attention. He looked almost nervous.
"Alpha..." He hesitated.
"Why are you acting scared?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "What is it? Say it clearly."
Ryan nodded, finally deciding to speak.
"Alpha, I know this because it’s actually the reason the fight happened between Miss Vale and Miss Moonvel."
"What?" I interrupted him before he could continue. "How is Athena related to that girl’s erratic behavior?"
"Because, according to Miss Vale, Miss Moonvel is trying to take the Young Master away from her."
My expression darkened.
"That was why Miss Vale attacked Miss Moonvel, to warn her not to go anywhere near the Young Master."
"What?" I stared at Ryan, hardly believing what I was hearing. "You’re saying Athena tried to get close to Louis, and that’s why that girl attacked her?"
"No, Alpha." Ryan immediately shook his head. "Miss Moonvel didn’t try to get close to the Young Master. That’s only what Miss Vale believes. There is no truth to that. Miss Moonvel didn’t make any attempt to approach the Young Master."
I studied his face for a moment before asking, "Then why does that girl think she did?"
My patience was wearing thin. I didn’t understand why, but even the thought of Athena being involved with someone else stirred something unpleasant inside me.
It was irrational. I knew that. Athena and I had an agreement. Nothing more. Yet the idea of her being connected to Louis made something inside me want to tear everything apart.
Ryan took a breath before finally answering. "Because the Young Master himself posted a video of Miss Moonvel and him dancing together."
I froze.
"A video?"
"Yes, Alpha."
