Dreven Academy: I seduced the Alpha king for revenge.
Chapter 6: ⁶: The Alpha Kael
Alpha Kael’s POV
"Do the elders of this pack truly have nothing better to do than obsess over my sex life?" My voice echoed through the grand hall the moment I entered.
Just seconds ago, the chamber had been overflowing with chatter. Elders filled their designated seats while pack members stood lined along the edges of the massive hall.
But the instant I walked in, it was as if everyone had swallowed their tongue
Fear.
Respect.
Submission.
I could feel all their gazes on me as I walked toward the Alpha seat positioned at the end of the hall.
Ignoring every single one of them, I sat down casually without giving anyone permission to take their seats as well.
If these old wolves had enough energy to bother me every day, then they had enough energy to continue standing too.
I leaned back lazily against the throne.
"Well?" I said coldly. "Are any of you going to speak, or did you gather the entire pack here for entertainment?"
My patience was already wearing thin.
As expected, Elder Kayden was the first to step forward.
Out of everyone in this pack, he was the one most obsessed with my passing age and my lack of an heir.
Sometimes I wondered if I should simply send him to the afterlife myself so he could finally rest in peace.
Unfortunately, even I was bound by pack law.
And killing an elder without proper reason would create unnecessary problems.
"Alpha," Elder Kayden began respectfully, bowing his head, "we are worried about the future of the pack. Your lack of a successor threatens our stability."
His voice trembled slightly.
"Today, no pack dares challenge us because you stand at our head. But what happens when... you are no longer here?" he was acting so respectful as if he had not just talked about me potentially being dead.
A cold chuckle left my lips.
"Elder Kayden," I said slowly, raising an eyebrow, "do you truly believe you will outlive me?"
The color drained from his face instantly.
"Do not worry," I continued smoothly. "I assure you, I will not die before you do."
A nervous silence spread through the hall.
"Alpha, Father did not mean it like that!"
A feminine voice suddenly echoed from the side of the chamber where the she-wolves stood.
I turned toward the speaker.
Mayla.
Half the reason behind Elder Kayden’s constant desperation over me not having an heir or may I say a Luna.
"Do not worry, Mayla," I replied calmly. "I know exactly what your father meant. I was merely trying to ease his concerns."
She stiffened under my gaze.
Then I looked back toward the elders.
"I already know what all of you truly want behind this concern for an heir," I said bluntly. "And my answer to all the pack members remains the same."
I rose slowly from my seat.
"I will choose my Luna myself."
My voice rang through the hall with finality.
"When I find a woman worthy of standing beside me, then—and only then—will I take a Luna."
I glanced across the chamber coldly.
"So stop wasting my time with this discussion again and again."
I turned, fully intending to leave.
But Elder Kayden’s voice thundered behind me.
"This meeting will not end until you give the pack a definitive answer, Alpha!"
