Chapter 36: ³⁶: the art of Seduction

"I mean... what if he sees me here?" I asked and he just looked back down, the cold atmosphere between us easing ever so slightly.

"He lives separately on his own floor. The only place we share is the common area on the ground floor where we have breakfast together," he replied, keeping his voice low as he skillfully continued cooking, soon, the kitchen was filled with the rich aroma of the dishes he was preparing.

"So there is nobody who can disturb us here?" I asked, deliberately lowering my voice into a teasing tone. Just as I had hoped, he looked up at me and I smiled at him innocently.

"Let’s eat," he said, completely ignoring my question as he placed the freshly prepared food on the dining table. Without waiting for me, he sat down and started eating.

"How did you learn to cook this well?" I asked as I finally sat down and took a bite.

The food was delicious and freshly cooked too. Unlike me, who survived mostly on frozen cafeteria meals from the packhouse and instant noodles.

"I have lived alone many times in my life," he replied between bites. "You learn how to cook a few things."

I simply nodded and after that, we ate in silence. Meanwhile, I kept trying to gather the courage to bring up the real reason I had come here.

"L-let me help you with the dishes," I offered when I saw him get up with his plate and hurried after him. Even I wasn’t sure what I was doing anymore. I came here with a purpose... So why was I acting like this?

"No need for that," he said. "There’s a dishwasher."

Before I could react, he took my plate from my hands and placed it inside the dishwasher along with his before closing the machine.

I mentally facepalmedas I saw the door closing. What are you doing, Athena?

You came here for something important.

Stop acting like an idiot.

"So..." Out of nowhere, I blurted out, "What’s your favourite food?"

The moment the words left my mouth, I wanted to disappear. Seriously? That was what I came up with? I wasn’t here on a date. We weren’t supposed to be getting to know each other over favourite foods.

We had a very peculiar contract between us one that binds us to eachother with nothing but sex!

Yet here I was, asking questions that had absolutely nothing to do with why I had climbed into his mansion. I lowered my gaze to the floor in embarrassment.

Before I knew it, my wrist was caught, and I was pulled forward until I collided with his chest. "What exactly are you trying to do, Miss Moonvel?" he asked, amusement dancing in his eyes as though I were some kind of entertainment.

Honestly... At this point, I was beginning to feel like one.

"May I ask why you’re here?" His gaze briefly swept over my outfit - off shoulder backless top and the shortest skirt I owned before returning to my face. "Judging by the way you’re dressed... one could argue, just like during our first meeting, that you’re here to ’seduce me.’"He air-quoted the last two words.

"But considering how nervous you’ve been..." he continued, "you don’t exactly seem to be succeeding."

"I am definitely not nervous!" I shot back immediately. "I was just trying to be polite since I barged into your house without any warning!"

The nervousness I’d been feeling till now vanished the moment I felt challenged.

Kael simply raised an eyebrow. His grip on my wrist didn’t loosen in the slightest. "So," he said with a faint smile, "you didn’t deny the first possibility." His smile widened just a little. " Miss Moonvel really is here to seduce me."

"What?... Wha..." I stared at him, completely speechless. This... This man!

"You know Moss Moonvel what’s so interesting about you?" he asked, letting go of my wrist before resting a hand lightly at my waist.

"You try very hard to appear confident enough to seduce me..." He tilted his head slightly. "But underneath all that confidence, you’re just a nervous little girl who’s afraid of making the first move."

"What?" I frowned. "I am neither nervous nor a little girl! And even if I can if I want to, I don’t need to seduce you."

"We already have a deal that guarantees what seduction would have been for." To emphasize my point, I lifted my arms around his neck looking at him full of confidence, refusing to back down.

"Oh really?" He looked at me with quiet amusement. "Then may I know what else you came here for, if not that?"

"I came here to get my end of the deal which is for you to..." I began as I rose slightly onto my toes, leaning closer my lips near his ears finally forcing the words out before I would actually get nervous again and start doing stupid things again...."fuck me."

Kael let out a quiet chuckle before he gently slid a hand into my hair, pulling on my roots to guide my gaze back toward him. "You’re more confident with your words than your actions," he murmured. " You won’t be able to take it little girl."

I immediately took that as a challenge how dare he think I can’t take it!

Without another thought, I closed the remaining distance between us and pressed my lips against his, pulled his head closer to mine while I slipped my tongue on his lover lip making him open his mouth to try to push his tongue into my mouth but before he could do that I bit his lover lips till it bled before pulling away.

"Don’t dare to tell me I can’t take it Alpha," I said pushing myself flush against him as my stomach grazed against the bulge I could feel there. "Otherwise next time the things I bite won’t be just your lip."
