Dragon Genesis: I Can Create Dragons

Chapter 336: What you say can happen.

Chapter 336: What you say can happen.

Reynara didn’t say anything.

Even after being stabbed, she couldn’t bring herself to hate them.

Her love for them was simply that pure.

The Kitsune Guardian just stared back at them, not even trying to resist whatever they were doing—in her mind and on her face, she only had one question—

Why?

Vixara lowered her head when she saw the look on the Guardian’s face. To her, who was an orphan, Reynara was like a mother. She had taken care of her for as long as she could remember. She raised her, she fed her, she gave her a shelter to sleep, she… she loved her.

The Guardian made sure she never missed her parents’ presence, and whenever Vixara was with her, she did in fact never miss her parents or feel that she didn’t have something others did.

To her, Reynara was her mother and her father. She was the most important person in her life, and to do this to the most important person in her life—it shattered Vixara’s heart.

She felt like it was her responsibility to explain herself.

She just… couldn’t come up with an explanation as to how she, as one of the people Reynara trusted and loved the most, was able to muster the heart to stab her.

However, unlike Vixara, a few other Kitsunes had no qualms about it. One of them, the mother who came to Reynara a few days ago, stared at Reynara in anger and—

“Killing you is the only way to bring back my daughter! Else she would never return from that darn Dreamworld of yours!”

Reynara stared at the mother, her eyes reflecting pain and sincerity, then suddenly—as if they couldn’t take the pressure—the chains binding her mouth were crushed into pieces, surprising every Kitsune present here.

Instantly, they assumed their battle stances, worried that even after all their preparation, the Guardian still might escape.

But—

“She is healing…”

Reynara answered lightly, still sticking to her words. Other than answering the mother, she did not do anything against anyone here. Maybe because she only had enough power to free herself from one chain, or maybe because she simply did not wish to harm her people—no one knew.

The mother, however, did not care.

“You have been saying the same thing for years!”

She snapped.

“And I will continue saying it for the coming years because that is the truth.”

Reynara spoke calmly,

“As I have mentioned before, the Dreamworld is designed to heal the sadness in one’s heart. It is created to make one forget what pain is, and once it happens and they are prepared to return,

The Dreamworld will shatter on its own.

Lily hasn’t returned till now because she is not ready to return. Even if you forcefully bring her back by killing me, she wouldn’t be healed, she…

She wouldn’t be happy.”

“She will stay with her mother! Of course she will be happy!”

The mother countered, raising her voice even further. Reynara, however, just smiled at those words and—

“Then why did you bring her to me if that was the case?”

At those words, the mother turned silent.

She remembered her daughter’s face before she left. She knew what she just said wasn’t true. Lily had lost a lot—her grief became even stronger when she lost her father, whom she loved a lot.

Since that day, she had never smiled even once, even after an entire month had passed since her father’s passing. This was the reason she brought Lily to Lady Reynara in the first place. She allowed Reynara to send her child to the Dreamworld and help her heal.

Help her be able to smile again.

But…

After years passed and she still did not see her daughter return, she grew anxious.

After all, her daughter wasn’t the only one who lost her father. She lost her loving husband as well. She was sad as well, and now, things had turned for the worse since she lost her daughter too.

She was on the verge of breaking.

This was the entire reason she participated in this plan.

As she thought about it, her body trembled and suddenly—

“You are in pain.”

Reynara muttered.

The Kitsune Guardian, with her body pierced by a dagger, was looking into another’s eyes, worried for her.

“I should have sensed it earlier. I apologize.”

She spoke in a low voice and then, with a determined look on her face,

“Let me help you.”

She requested.

“Help how? Send her to a Dreamworld as well!?”

The warrior Kitsune who stood right beside the Kitsune mother snapped in anger.

“Yes.”

Reynara nodded. She stared at the Kitsune mother, sensed her pain, and knew that this was the only way to help her.

The Kitsune mother stared back at her, tempted.

She had heard about the Dreamworld as well—a world specifically created for her, a world where she could get what she wants, a world where the pain she was going through does not exist…

A world where she could meet not just her daughter, but even her husband again…

“This is madness!”

Seeing her face, the Kitsune warrior raised his voice even further as he stepped in front of the Kitsune mother, as if protecting her from the enchanting demon.

He then glared at Reynara and—

“So this is your grand solution to every problem!? To send everyone to an illusionary world just because they are a little sad in the name of healing!?”

“Yes, this is the only way to treat one’s heart.”

Reynara nodded calmly.

The warrior, however, was not as calm.

“So what’s the end goal!? Send every Kitsune here to the Dreamworld and have us go extinct!?”

“No, I expect the Kitsunes in the Dreamworld to return, healed, and spread that happiness here.”

Reynara’s purple eyes then shined strongly as she revealed her plan—

“I plan to turn Everveil into the Dreamworld for all.

A place all of us can live happily in.

A place where sadness does not exist, and if it appears again, I will simply erase it again.”

Even the fierce warrior couldn’t retort against those words. That was simply how tempting it sounded.

“…and what if they never return?”

Suddenly, Vixara questioned, grabbing Reynara’s attention.

When the Kitsune Guardian stared at her, she continued,

“It has been 15 years since you sent Luna to the Dreamworld, yet she hasn’t returned.”

“She just needs time.”

Reynara answered.

“You saw her, didn’t you? You know what she has been through.”

Vixara was silent.

“The wounds of the heart aren’t easy to cure.”

Reynara explained. At those words, Vixara hesitated, but then—

“But what if… they do not wish to return in the first place?”

She questioned.

Reynara frowned, and the Kitsune continued,

“Dreamworld is a world created for them, isn’t it? A perfect world for them. A world where they would never be sad. Why would anyone ever wish to return from such a world?”

“…”

Reynara turned silent.

“What if they forget the difference between illusion and reality and lose themselves? What if they decide to accept that world as their own and decide not to return to the world that brought them so much pain?

Won’t they forever be stuck in that world then? How will they return then?”

Vixara asked more questions, and those possibilities horrified the other Kitsunes.

If…

If they were never going to return, then…

Weren’t they as good as dead?

Doesn’t this mean… Lady Reynara actually killed them?

In an instant, everyone stared at Reynara, waiting for her answer. They wanted to know if what Vixara said was indeed a possibility and—

“What you say can happen.”

Reynara nodded, making the Kitsunes widen their eyes in disbelief.
