Dragon Blood Saint Emperor
Chapter 649: Mengg Yiren Leaves
As everyone knelt, Ye Wushuang was now certain that the newcomer was none other than the master of the Huanying Country, the Huanying Empress!
Ye Wushuang had heard of this Empress before. Her identity was said to be a great mystery.
No one knew where she came from. They only knew that not long after her arrival, she had established the Huanying Country with an iron fist. Shortly thereafter, she had elevated it to the ranks of an Overlord power, a testament to her fearsome capabilities.
Now, judging from her aura alone, Ye Wushuang guessed that the Huanying Empress’s Cultivation was at the Pseudo-Saint level or higher.
"My apologies for this intrusion. I hope the Empress will forgive me."
Ye Wushuang cupped his fist. His voice, calm and composed, passed through the light gauze curtain and into the Phoenix Imperial Carriage. He remained unbowed, not bending his back simply because he was addressing the ruler of a nation.
"The Young Emperor honors us with his presence. It is no disturbance at all," the Empress replied politely, then called out to the city’s residents, "All of you may rise."
"Thank you, Empress!"
At her words, the people on the street finally dared to stand.
They didn’t dare to look directly at the Huanying Empress, so their gazes fell upon Ye Wushuang instead. As they registered who he was, their eyes narrowed in unison.
This was especially true for the men, whose eyes flashed with a mixture of apprehension and disbelief.
The Venerable Young Emperor, the ruthless God of Slaughter!
This was how Young Emperor Ye was known. His deeds—annihilating powerful clans, wiping out the Beastman Empire, and more—had been immortalized in the *Chronicles of Ye the Godslayer* and *The Growth History of Young Emperor Ye*, spreading throughout the Grand Emperor Domain until everyone knew his name. He was an idol to countless people, yet they had just tried to cause trouble for that very idol, which made them feel utterly ashamed.
’No wonder he’s so domineering and sharp,’ Mingxi thought, her heart pounding. ’The God of Slaughter... he really is different. A man like that is the most exceptional man in the Huanying Country.’
When Mingxi learned Ye Wushuang’s identity, she too was stunned. Instead of holding a grudge for the lesson he had just taught her, she now felt a budding admiration and appreciation for him.
"Now that the Empress is here, this will save me some trouble."
Ye Wushuang released Mengg Yiren and stepped forward.
"You were looking for me?"
From behind the gauze curtain, the Huanying Empress asked coolly. Her face was obscured, but her voice, true to her name, was dreamlike and illusory.
"I’m sure the Empress is already aware of my reason for being here." Seeing the Empress playing coy, Ye Wushuang replied smoothly. ’This Empress is no simple woman,’ he thought. ’She has likely already guessed my purpose regarding the matter of slaying the heavens.’
At his words, the Huanying Empress fell silent.
This left the crowd completely baffled, with no idea what the two were discussing.
After a moment, the Huanying Empress finally spoke. "I do know why you are here, and I can agree to your request. However, I have one condition."
’A condition?’
Ye Wushuang’s brow furrowed. ’Slaying the heavens isn’t just my fight,’ he thought. ’If the Grand Emperor Domain falls, the Huanying Country can’t possibly escape. What is the meaning of asking for a condition?’
"What is your condition?"
After a brief hesitation, Ye Wushuang asked anyway. He didn’t want to waste any more time here.
"The condition is simple. She must stay behind!"
The Huanying Empress raised a hand, pointing. Through the gauze curtain, it was just possible to see that she was pointing at Mengg Yiren.
"Her?"
Ye Wushuang’s gaze darkened.
’Why does the Huanying Empress want Mengg Yiren to stay?’
He had a feeling there was some mysterious connection between them.
However, he couldn’t be sure what that connection was, nor whether it was for good or ill.
Having chosen to bring Mengg Yiren with him, he wouldn’t simply abandon her.
But Mengg Yiren didn’t see it that way. In her eyes, she had just caused trouble for Ye Wushuang. For the sake of his great cause of slaying the heavens, he would surely sacrifice her.
After all, sacrificing someone who was just an eyesore to gain a powerful ally was a trade well worth making.
As this thought crossed her mind, Mengg Yiren felt a pang of disappointment and a flare of inexplicable anger, though she couldn’t say why.
Ye Wushuang’s silence made her uncertain.
However, just as she turned her head away, Ye Wushuang looked up, stared at the Phoenix Imperial Carriage, and said coolly, "And what if I say no?"
"No?"
Mengg Yiren’s ears perked up. She whipped around, staring at Ye Wushuang in surprise.
’Ye Wushuang wasn’t going to abandon her!’
Hearing this, she felt a baffling surge of joy.
Of course, this didn’t diminish her hatred for Ye Wushuang. After his repeated unwanted advances, not to mention the spanking he’d given her, that hatred was now carved into her heart.
"Hmph! Don’t think I’ll be grateful to you!"
Mengg Yiren snorted, an ungrateful expression on her pretty face, and then soared into the air.
"I’ll stay!"
Mengg Yiren flew toward the Huanying Empress.
"Are you sure?"
Ye Wushuang watched her quietly, making no move to stop her. ’This is her choice.’
"Absolutely certain!"
Pausing in mid-air, Mengg Yiren turned her head back. "Ye Wushuang, the next time we meet, I will definitely be strong enough to kill you! You just wait!"
Even as she spoke the vow, gritting her teeth in anger, she was still breathtakingly beautiful. She had sworn to kill Ye Wushuang many times before, but had never once succeeded.
"You haven’t before, and you never will."
Ye Wushuang shot a glance at Mengg Yiren and tossed the words back at her nonchalantly.
SCREECH!
The Xiaoo Yue Celestial Roc took flight, soaring into the firmament and carrying Ye Wushuang off into the distance. One last sentence drifted back on the wind, "Next time we meet, if you still haven’t broken through, I’ll make your butt blossom!"
Make her butt blossom!
That incredibly arrogant parting shot swept away all of Mengg Yiren’s other emotions, leaving only pure fury!
Meanwhile, inside the Phoenix Imperial Carriage, unknown to anyone, the Huanying Empress’s face was also clouding over with anger.
"Let’s go."
A moment later, the Huanying Empress called out to Mengg Yiren. Mengg Yiren stepped behind the gauze curtain, joining the Empress in the Phoenix Imperial Carriage as it entered the Huanying Pavilion.
After leaving Huanying City, Ye Wushuang continued east.
The Three Thousand Seas were located in the Land of the Eastern Pole. The region was a boundless ocean dotted with countless islands, the most famous of which were three thousand in number—hence the name.
With the Xiaoo Yue Celestial Roc handling the flight, Ye Wushuang had some free time to immerse himself in the Array Dao.
At the same time, he took out one of the seven remaining drops of Heaven and Earth Essence and began to refine it to advance his Cultivation.
The journey to the Three Thousand Seas was fraught with unknown dangers. Venturing into such a place without enough strength to face them was tantamount to suicide.
Furthermore, the Heart of the Sea God contained Divine Power. He suspected he wasn’t the only one who wanted it, and without the strength to contend for it, his efforts would be for naught.
Therefore, over the ten-day journey, Ye Wushuang refined the drop of Heaven and Earth Essence. Supplementing it with some Treasure Medicines and an Ancient Medicine King, he finally broke through the Hundred Acupoints.
The transition from the Soul Transformation Level to the Divine Silence Level was a Nirvana of the physical body. It required one to use Supreme Divine Soul Power and vast True Essence to achieve the Divinization of the Hundred Acupoints and internal organs, thereby allowing the Divine Soul to gain perfect control over the physical form.
BOOM!
On the eleventh day, a sudden roar erupted from within Ye Wushuang’s body!
"Holy shit, the kid broke through again!"
The Dragon Cat popped out with a SWOOSH, exclaiming as it stared at Ye Wushuang.
"The Divine Silence Level. It’s about time I broke through."
Ye Wushuang opened his eyes, which shone with Divine Light. He stood up and glanced toward the firmament.
"Master, we’ve reached the border of the Three Thousand Seas."
The Xiaoo Yue Celestial Roc called out just then. He could clearly hear the roar of the great ocean, and the scent of salt water filled the air.
"Take us down."
Ye Wushuang ordered. Now that he had broken through to the Divine Silence Level, it was time to face the Crossing of the Tribulation.
