Chapter 1171: Four Dragon Knights as Guardians
The sudden appearance of the four Dragon Knights at her side startled Bai Xiuxiu as well. These were four super-god-rank powerhouses; even just looking directly at them sent stinging sensations through her entire body. The oppressive force of all four Dragon Knights gathered together was imaginable.
“Xiuxiu, step aside for now.” Luo Lan made a grasping motion with his right hand, and Bai Xiuxiu was effortlessly lifted and set aside, clearing the way.
The four Dragon Knights encircled Lan Xuanyu. This spectacle stunned every dragon in the vicinity. The god-rank dragon powerhouses in the distance withdrew their dragon force pillars and rushed over. The dragons still in the midst of their matches remained absorbed in their own bouts, unaware of the commotion. Those not competing had no idea what was happening and stared over in confusion.
Luo Yayuan said in a deep voice, “All of you, disperse. What are you crowding around for? Let the matches continue, let the spectating continue. The four of us are here; no one is to approach.”
With that, he waved his hand, and a layer of gray radiance blossomed outward, instantly enveloping the four Dragon Knights and Lan Xuanyu, sealing off all outside sight and perception. No one knew that at this very moment, these four Dragon Knight lords were utterly astounded. They all stared in shock at Lan Xuanyu lying on the ground, their hearts churning with mixed emotions. Huang Liangwei was glad he had not left yet, otherwise he would have missed such a crucial scene.
Threads of colorful light were seeping up from beneath the ground. If one looked closely, one would see that this radiance contained seven distinct hues. After emerging from the earth, they burrowed only into Lan Xuanyu’s body, silently vanishing into him. Luo Yayuan crooked his finger, drawing a strand of the colorful light toward him. The light seemed to possess its own will, unwilling to be controlled, struggling to break free. But the super-god-rank Darkfiend Dragon Knight was far too powerful; under his formidable strength, the colored light could not escape. The light appeared to have its own emotions, and they were intensely violent. Unable to break free, it detonated on its own, dispersing part of Luo Yayuan’s dark force.
The other three Dragon Knights made similar attempts, with identical results. The colored light completely rejected their probing and could not be absorbed into their bodies.
“The same as that place within the Dragon Realm?” Luo Lan asked Luo Yayuan.
Luo Yayuan nodded slowly. “Very similar. I can say with near certainty that this is the same source of energy. This Rising Dragon Platform is indeed extraordinary. The First Seat was right—the Rising Dragon Platform is most likely the very pillar of the original Dragon Realm. Or rather, it was the Rising Dragon Platform that connected the Dragon Realm to our Celestial Dragon Planet.”
“Mm. From what we see now, the Rising Dragon Platform should be part of the Dragon Realm, sharing the same origin as its core power. But how can this child absorb the platform’s energy? Even the First Seat has tried countless times without success,” Long Chaoyang said in puzzlement.“Bloodline. It must be the bloodline,” Huang Liangwei blurted out. “She lost a tremendous amount of blood just now. Did you notice that the blood from her battle site was absorbed unusually quickly?”
Luo Lan said, “Hasn’t blood from past battles also been absorbed by the Rising Dragon Platform?”
“But today was exceptionally fast. Now that Huang Liangwei mentions it, I noticed it too,” Long Chaoyang said solemnly.
Luo Yayuan narrowed his eyes. “That is to say, her bloodline stirred the Rising Dragon Platform, causing some changes in it.”
“Mm, that should be the case,” Long Chaoyang nodded.
Huang Liangwei’s eyes narrowed as well. “From her battle with Xu Yanmo just now, she lost an enormous amount of blood—probably nearly half her body’s total—which triggered this change. What if we shed half our blood? Would it similarly draw out this energy for us to absorb?”
A gleam flickered in Luo Yayuan’s eyes. They had indeed never tried such a method, but they could all sense that this seven-colored energy was of exceptionally high purity—and more importantly, it carried a tremendously powerful bloodline force. At their level of cultivation, even a single step forward was extraordinarily difficult. Bloodline was the greatest limitation. One could say that for dragons at the super-god level, any further improvement depended entirely on their bloodline. If the bloodline could evolve again, it would undoubtedly make them even stronger.
“Go back and check whether any of our clansmen have ever lost this much blood here,” Luo Yayuan said gravely.
Luo Lan said, “That probably won’t help much. Even if there were, they would have been young participants in the Rising Dragon Competition. Certainly none at the god-rank level. Besides, each of our bloodlines is different. No one can say for sure that their blood would draw out this energy, or that others would not. To test it, we would likely have to use our own blood.”
Long Chaoyang nodded in agreement. “I agree. Blood varies greatly between individuals. We already knew that this child Lan possesses an exceptionally powerful bloodline. It seems only those with strong enough bloodlines can use their blood to stir this energy here.”
Huang Liangwei said with a dark tone, “There’s no point agonizing over it now. Let’s first see how much she changes after absorbing this energy, and whether it truly benefits her. If it does, and the benefits are substantial, then we can talk about whether to try it ourselves.”
Luo Yayuan nodded. “Exactly. We’ll stay here and observe her transformation.”
With that, he sat down cross-legged on the spot. Four Dragon Knights standing guard—this was likely unprecedented in the entire history of Celestial Dragon Planet.
At this moment, Lan Xuanyu remained unconscious, but the still-awake Treasure Seeking Beast was trembling with terror! If their true identity were discovered, it would not escape either. So it could only pour all its efforts into first concealing Lan Xuanyu’s actual gender.
Bai Xiuxiu stared at the gray light screen before her, her heart racing faster and faster. Yet there was nothing she could do. Before the four Dragon Knights, no one could act; all she could do was wait. Under these circumstances, no reaction was the best reaction.
Thread after thread of colorful light flowed ceaselessly into Lan Xuanyu’s body, nourishing him. One must know that before today, all the Dragon God bloodline energy within Lan Xuanyu had been refined by him from the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King bloodline energies—expending an unknown amount of energy to merge them. During cultivation, the reason dragon force tempering consumed so much dragon energy was precisely because it required conversion into this Dragon God bloodline energy. But now, the Dragon God bloodline energy coming from outside was even purer than his own, pouring in continuously and silently repairing the injuries caused by his repeated use of the Dragon God Shock.
The Golden Dragon King bloodline and Silver Dragon King bloodline both naturally submitted before this influx of energy. The multicolored energy slowly mended Lan Xuanyu’s body and infused into his dragon core. Soon, a prismatic sheen began to appear on Lan Xuanyu’s skin, and patches of seven-colored scales emerged from beneath it.
The four Dragon Knights, all within arm’s reach, watched his transformation intently. Seeing this sight, their expressions grew exceedingly vivid. They could all clearly sense the bloodline aura emanating from Lan Xuanyu at this moment—so pure, so powerful. Though the energy intensity itself was still weak, the bloodline pressure exuded by such a superior bloodline stirred their own bloodlines in response.
