Chapter 1164: Four Dragon Knights

His spiritual power had reached the level of spiritual manifestation, peaking at the Spirit Domain realm, and at last, Lan Xuanyu was able to sense something from the Rising Dragon Platform. This change filled him with immense joy. It meant that he was highly likely to receive some form of feedback from this super divine weapon that had once belonged to the Dragon God. His expression remained unchanged, but his spiritual power quietly extended toward the Rising Dragon Platform. As his spiritual energy surged forward, he gradually perceived certain transformations within the platform. It was as if the Rising Dragon Platform had quietly opened a great door for him, and through that opening, Xuanyu could glimpse something of its interior. Boundless and infinite—that was his first impression. Within the Rising Dragon Platform seemed to exist another world, one so vast it nearly had no end. In that world without limits, he saw dense, nine-colored energy of unimaginable intensity, containing an amount of power he could not begin to fathom.
What was that? The moment the thought arose, a wave of weakness washed over Lan Xuanyu. To his horror, he realized that in what felt like an instant, more than a third of his spiritual power had already been drained. He quickly drew his focus inward, rapidly adjusting his state and daring not to probe further. Concentrating his mind, he worked to recover his spiritual energy. He had seen it—he could now perceive the interior of the Rising Dragon Platform. But the cost was terrifying. Was that multicolored energy the power of the Dragon God, or the platform's own? Lan Xuanyu did not know, but what he could affirm was that the sheer intensity of that vast colored energy surpassed anything he had ever witnessed in his life. It was in no way comparable to any heavenly or earthly treasure. If such an immense amount of energy could be drawn out, it would be truly formidable! Unfortunately, his current cultivation was insufficient; he was far from achieving that and could only silently sense it. Perhaps only after he broke through to the god rank would he be able to truly understand everything here and attempt to borrow that power. Though he had failed to tap into the energy within the Rising Dragon Platform, Lan Xuanyu was not discouraged; on the contrary, he felt a flicker of delight.
The Rising Dragon Platform had stood here for countless years, and the dragons of this place had only ever used it as an arena, taking advantage of some of its marvelous properties. But Lan Xuanyu was absolutely certain that even the Celestial Dragon did not truly understand what lay within the platform, for otherwise, with such immense energy, the Celestial Dragon would not have left it unused. This meant that only he, with his Dragon God bloodline, had the potential to make use of the Rising Dragon Platform. Thus, there was no need to rush. When he possessed sufficient strength, he would come back to mobilize the energy within. There would always be time. And if that energy were truly drawn out by him, whether for cultivation or as a weapon, it would likely elevate him to an unprecedented height. A faint smile appeared on Lan Xuanyu's face. He collected his thoughts, regulated his spiritual power, and, centering on his dragon core, began to recover what he had expended.
He ascended once more to the top of the Rising Dragon Platform; everything was much the same as the previous days. But he noticed that many gazes were fixed on him. Clearly, everyone knew that today he would face Xu Yanmo. This bout was bound to be the focus of all attention. Between Lan Xuanyu and Xu Yanmo, would one of them avoid the fight by conceding? As things stood, that seemed unlikely. The Rising Dragon Competition was not merely about victory or defeat; it was also a prime opportunity for mutual sparring and self-improvement, especially for experts like them. Moreover, both had already advanced, bearing no pressure regarding qualification, with several matches to serve as a buffer. Even if injured, they would have time to recover. This was the perfect moment for a true clash—how could they let it pass? A massive, glowing archway opened in the distance, and one by one, god-ranked dragon experts emerged, igniting the pillars of dragon force beneath them.
Just as Huang Yuanlang had said, Lan Xuanyu soon spotted the Mokong Dragon Knight Luo Lan and the Heaven-Defying Dragon Knight Long Chaoyang. To his greater surprise, today's arrivals included not just those two, but two other dragon knights he had seen before. One was the Darkfiend Dragon Knight Luo Yayuan, who had appeared on the first day of the Rising Dragon Competition, and the other was the Saint Light Dragon Knight Huang Liangwei from Ruilong City. Four dragon knights gathered together—a rare spectacle indeed on the Celestial Dragon Planet! When the four massive pillars of light rose into the air, the eyes of all the competitors gazing upon them burned with intense fervor. Four dragon knights—what formidable power was that? Nearly a quarter of the eighteen dragon knights had come, just to watch today's matches. And the pivotal battle of the day was in the third division. That meant they were all here to witness the contest between Lan Xuanyu and Xu Yanmo.
It was understandable that the Mokong Dragon Knight Luo Lan and the Heaven-Defying Dragon Knight Long Chaoyang had come, each to look after their own proteges, but the arrival of the other two dragon knights was somewhat peculiar. Among the four dragon knights present, the Darkfiend Dragon Knight Luo Yayuan ranked highest, and his pillar of dragon force naturally took the foremost position. The other three followed in order behind him. The appearance of the four dragon knights instantly made the dragon energy over the entire Rising Dragon Platform as dense as solid matter—a great boon for the younger generation of dragons. After bowing respectfully to the four knights, everyone hurriedly sat down to absorb the dragon energy and replenish themselves.
Lan Xuanyu did not sit cross-legged. After saluting the dragon knights, he remained standing. He was about to face Xu Yanmo, and the four dragon knights had come specifically to watch this match. At this moment, he needed to adjust his condition. Even with Lan Xuanyu's mental fortitude, the presence of all four dragon knights weighed heavily on him, multiplying the pressure. No one could possibly concede in this fight; under the witness of the four dragon knights, it would surely be a battle where both sides gave their all. Xu Yanmo stood not far from Lan Xuanyu, and now he too turned to look in Lan Xuanyu's direction. "Miss Lan, I trust your injuries have healed?" Xu Yanmo asked Lan Xuanyu. Lan Xuanyu nodded. "They are of no concern."
Xu Yanmo smiled faintly. "That is good. In battle, I will definitely bring out my strongest power."
"Mm, as will I," Lan Xuanyu replied succinctly. At that moment, though most of the other competitors were absorbing dragon energy, a few still stood—among them the most powerful of the younger generation taking part in this competition.Who would prove the most formidable opponent in the finals? In the third division, the one who would emerge as the ultimate victor would be decided in the upcoming match. A faint smile crossed Lan Xuanyu's face. He patted Bai Xiuxiu's hand, warming her cold, tense fingers. She looked up at him, their eyes meeting, and she saw in the depths of Lan Xuanyu's gaze a fierce fighting spirit she had never witnessed before—not even when they had faced powerful enemies in their weaker days. "Go for it!" Bai Xiuxiu said softly.
Lan Xuanyu's eyes grew deep and profound as he gazed at her.
"Matches in other groups will be temporarily postponed. Group Three: Lan versus Xu Yanmo. This bout will be held separately. Please enter the arena."
A True God-level dragon expert drifted into the competition ground and made a "please" gesture toward Lan Xuanyu and Xu Yanmo. This was, of course, at the behest of the four dragon knights. From this last-minute adjustment to the schedule, it was ever clearer just how much importance the dragon powerhouses placed on this battle.
