Chapter 983: Chapter 975: New Drama Officially Announced 1
Sebastian Ford replied, "I’ve checked, it’s a sixty-seven-year-old woman. She is a loner without any family, so it couldn’t be her."
"So, was it the real Nina Raine who stole her personal information and then wrote the book?"
Sebastian nodded, "Yes."
Upon hearing this, Tiana Thorne furrowed her brows, "Could it be a friend of Preston’s sister who wrote it?"
"That’s not impossible. I’ve looked into the history of this book. Since its release, it’s been updated inconsistently, so it hasn’t accumulated any readership, and the book has remained obscure."
Tiana crossed her legs, a hint of disdain in her eyes, "The topic is decent, obviously, it had a chance to get exposed, but the updates were deliberately infrequent. Clearly, there was no intention for it to become popular. Who would have thought that Preston would become so famous, and then it even got adapted for film and TV, and only now is there trouble?"
"Perhaps so."
Tiana flipped through the book and read some Chapters, "Her writing isn’t as good as Preston’s, but who could this person be."
As she spoke, she frowned again, "Speaking of which, I’m the one who brought this disaster on Preston. If I hadn’t wanted to buy the film rights to this book, none of this would have happened."
"Get in touch with Preston and ask if he suspects anyone."
So, Tiana called him.
Soon, he picked up, "Tiana, you saw the news too?"
"Yes, sorry, Preston."
Ethan Ford laughed, seemingly unconcerned, and with a casual tone, he said, "What must come, will come. It has nothing to do with you, do you believe me?"
"I believe you."
Ethan’s voice carried a hint of amusement, "That’s enough for me."
As she listened to his youthful voice, she could imagine his carefree smile, the sparkle in his eyes, and his handsome features.
This matter didn’t seem to harm him at all.
Despite this, she was still worried.
Tiana asked, "Preston, what do you plan to do?"
"You don’t understand the writing world. Leave it to me. It seems I won’t be able to stay a mysterious female writer any longer."
Hearing his light-hearted teasing, she felt relieved, "Alright."
After hanging up, Tiana turned to her brother, "He told us to await good news."
Hearing this, Sebastian’s worries faded, and he smiled, the trust in his brother evident on his face, "Let’s trust him. Preston has always been decisive and smart since he was little, except for being outsmarted by our fourth brother. He’s always been a leader among the kids."
"Brother, I noticed your relationship is really great."
Sebastian shook his head, a complex expression, "It got better as we grew older. When we were kids, we were a handful, often worrying our mom."
"Tell me more?"
She had heard some stories from sister-in-law in the hospital; she remembered best the times when after fighting, they were sent by mom to the bathhouse to scrub each other’s backs.
She thought it sounded sweet.
But at the time, the brothers surely felt reluctant.
Seeing her eager expression, Sebastian smiled with a hint of mischief, "Who do you want to hear about first, our fourth brother?"
"Although I’m curious about my fiancé’s childhood stories, I’m more interested in our second brother. With his personality, I bet he got into a lot of trouble?"
"Well, let me tell you, I know almost all of the funny stories about our second brother."
Tiana gave a sweet smile, eager to listen.
She hadn’t been part of her brothers’ childhood, so learning about it gave her a feeling of togetherness and satisfaction.
Sebastian started, "Back then, we were divided into two groups. Our oldest brother had his followers, and our second brother had his. Unfortunately, I was on our oldest brother’s side, against our second brother."
She had heard from the sister-in-law before, but she didn’t know how her brothers paired up when they were young.
Now, she was deeply interested.
Sebastian continued, "Dad and Mom took us to a farmhouse. Our oldest brother said he wanted to teach our second brother a lesson and show him who the older brother was. So, I volunteered to deal with our second brother."
He pretended to betray us and said he always saw the second brother as an older brother and offered to be a spy for him.
Back then, we were just kids, with no real schemes.
The second brother naively believed his ’goodwill.’
He saw a manure pit in the backyard.
Because the owners hadn’t raised pigs for many years, the pit was only filled with rainwater, not dirty, and over time turned into a small pond.
After probing with a stick, he found the water was not deep, only waist-high, making it perfect for pranks.
After informing our oldest brother, he took the second brother to play in the backyard.
He deliberately teased and pushed the second brother into the water.
Our oldest brother held the prepared stick for the second brother to grab but insisted he surrender before pulling him out.
But the second brother was stubborn and refused, cursing us thoroughly.
In the end, before he surrendered, our mom arrived.
She pulled the second brother out and then asked Preston to find over a dozen sticks.
She called all the brothers, except our fourth, who never got involved in their fights, and said the second brother had fallen.
One moment they’d been mocking him, the next, they were all kicked down by Rouge Jarvis.
Rouge Jarvis said, "As the Ford brothers, you’re all in this together — all succeed or all fail. Since the second brother was fishing, you should all soak in there too."
Back then, they didn’t understand the concept of mutual success and failure.
They only felt uncomfortable soaking down there. He and the oldest brother felt guilty for the second brother, so they planned to reconcile.
But the second brother refused forgiveness, saying he’d throw them into a real manure pit when he became the leader for them to enjoy.
As usual, they’d scrub each other’s backs in the bathhouse and complain about each other.
At moments, they wanted to reconcile, but after a nap, they were still mischievous kids.
Tiana was incredulous, finding it hard to believe her brothers had been in a manure pit???!!!
Cough cough... Despite this, they’d grown up united.
Ms. Jarvis truly had a difficult job.
If not for the sister-in-law and Sebastian’s tales, she wouldn’t have believed these refined, admirable brothers could have been such troublemakers.
Tiana couldn’t help but laugh, "You’re trying to make me lose my appetite for lunch. Can we talk about something pleasant next time?"
Sebastian shrugged and smiled, "It was just rainwater. Our oldest brother even raised fish in it, which the sister-in-law later cooked."
At this point, Julian Ford approached with his slightly narrowed eyes and a slight movement of his thin lips, "What are you chatting about that’s so amusing?"
