Chapter 1095: Chapter 1087: Saving Father (Part 6)

The red light in the emergency room lit up again. Tiana Thorne waited nearby, watching the movements inside through a small window at the door.

She saw her father lying on the hospital bed, with a respirator, eyes tightly shut, and his pale face made her heart ache.

It seemed a long time since she last saw him, his hair had turned much whiter, after all, her father was aging.

At the thought of this, Tiana’s mouth turned sour, and her eyes rimmed with red.

Birth, old age, illness, and death are beyond her control.

She leaned against the wall, the redness in her eyes betrayed her emotions.

A hand grabbed her wrist, fingers cool and soft, yet not cold, a warmth flowed into her body, she looked at Linden Hawthorne, and he gazed back at her, his voice low and gentle: "Poppy, your father will be alright."

The comfort did more harm than good, making Tiana feel even more sorrowful.

The long-held tears spilled over, like a river flooding, she could no longer hold back, almost choking up, yet there were too many people around, not wanting to lose her composure, she forcibly held back: "Thank you."

Georgia Thorne, watching everything from a short distance, slightly clenched her fingers, saying nothing.

Linden Hawthorne’s eyes were fixed on Tiana Thorne, watching her large teardrops stream down.

This was the first time he saw her cry since they met, his heart contracted sharply, not feeling well, as he watched the tears trace down her chin.

Lost in thought, he instinctively reached out to wipe away the tears.

His hand halted mid-air, realizing the inappropriateness, hesitating for quite a while, seemingly struggling.

She was Aiden Shaw’s sixteen.

Not his Poppy.

Complex emotions surged within him, Linden Hawthorne frowned slightly until the emergency room door opened.

As Tiana turned around, his fingertip brushed against her cheek, capturing a teardrop.

Only Linden Hawthorne was aware, while Tiana Thorne had all her attention on her father, not realizing her face had been touched.

Afterwards, Linden Hawthorne placed his finger near his lips.

Bitter.

Linden Hawthorne took a heavy breath.

Georgia Thorne, whose gaze followed Linden Hawthorne’s movements, also noticed, saw him taste Tiana’s tear, her face slightly white, she shifted her gaze away, and went to inquire about Seth Thorne’s condition.

Professor Linton said: "Your father is not suffering from ordinary coronary heart disease."

Tiana Thorne and Georgia Thorne were simultaneously stunned: "Then what is it?"

Professor Linton frowned, his tone grave: "I detected a kind of irritant medication in your father’s blood, this medication triggers a heart attack, furthermore, it can dilate arteries, causing symptoms like coughing up blood and massive bleeding, in severe cases, your father could suddenly die from a heart attack one night."

"Are you saying someone poisoned my father?" Tiana Thorne was shocked.

"Yes, and they were ruthless with it."

Georgia Thorne was surprised: "I’ve been at home, who would poison him?"

Professor Linton looked towards the nearby doctors with an admiring gaze: "As a doctor, one must look for the cause of illness from every angle to be considered qualified, you almost made a mistake."

"Yes, Professor Linton is right, I was negligent." The doctor accepted the lesson humbly.

"It’s not entirely your fault, the person who administered the poison was very covert, without meticulous examination, it wouldn’t have been detected." Professor Linton said.

Who would poison her father?

Tiana Thorne frowned, heavy-hearted, her father was always kind and amiable, never making enemies, to provoke such a ruthless attack, it was indeed vicious.

Her gaze turned icy, if she didn’t find this culprit, she wouldn’t be Tiana Thorne.

"Teacher, do you have a plan?" Linden Hawthorne asked.
