Chapter 1067: Chapter 1059: Tearing the Bitch Apart 3
Georgia Thorne was here to seek justice for Linden Hawthorne.
She had actually never known that Georgia harbored a special kind of feeling for Linden.
Precisely because it was special, she had come to her to question her.
"Georgia Thorne, what are you trying to say? You want me to betray Aiden Shaw and be with Linden Hawthorne instead? You’re asking me that as my eldest sister?"
Georgia heard the displeasure in her tone and lowered her gaze.
If she could help it, how would she ever push Linden toward someone else?
At that moment, Miley Miller brought over the coffee and then stepped out, waiting by the door.
She murmured softly, "He’s your fiancé."
"I’ll deal with my own feelings. I won’t fail Aiden Shaw."
Georgia’s eyes dimmed a little. "I told him what you like."
At that, Tiana Thorne was somewhat surprised. Listening to Georgia’s serious tone, it was clear she knew her very well.
She might never have been in a relationship, but she still knew that when it came to feelings, the worst thing was entanglement and two-timing.
Since she and Linden Hawthorne were fated but not destined, then all of this could only be left in the past.
If, out of pity, she couldn’t cut this off, it would only make the three of them suffer.
If she couldn’t give, then she mustn’t provoke.
Linden Hawthorne deserved a woman who truly loved him and would protect him.
At that thought, her gaze turned indifferent, she looked very much like a cold-blooded, heartless person, without a shred of pity, and said each word icily, "So what?"
Georgia couldn’t bear for the man in her heart to be sad or hurt. She bit her lip lightly, a faint plea in her voice. "Tiana, if you tried to get to know Linden Hawthorne, maybe you’d discover he’s actually a really good man."
"In ancient times, women had to follow the three obediences and four virtues. I’ve always disdained that, but there’s one thing I do keep in mind: once you pledge your life to someone, you keep your heart solely on them."
Those words made Georgia’s heart ache. Sometimes she even felt that she and Tiana could have been friends.
When you love someone, naturally you should be single-minded.
Tiana went on, "Since I chose Aiden Shaw, then if he’s well, I’m well. If he’s not, I’ll find a way to make him well, and I’ll never leave him for the rest of my life."
"How can you be so sure he feels the same about you?"
When Tiana finished, she stood up. "You can only know something like that if you put your whole heart into loving someone; only then can you make that call. I can’t agree to what you’re asking, and I suggest you stop doing things that break other people up like this in the future."
"Tiana, are you really this cold to Linden Hawthorne?"
Tiana picked up the bag she’d left on the seat. Her voice was icy, stripped of warmth. "Being cold to him is the kindest thing I can do."
If she were gentle with him and gave him hope, wouldn’t that be delaying his whole life?
If you can’t give, then don’t provoke.
That sentence was a constant reminder to her.
Tiana gave Georgia one last look, then turned and walked out.
She reached the doorway and accidentally bumped into Miley Miller.
Miley’s phone slipped to the floor; flustered, she hurried to pick it up.
Tiana was faster. She set her foot on the phone, looking down at her from above. A chill flickered in her fox-like eyes as she asked lazily, "So, did you overhear any juicy secrets?"
Miley shuddered in fright, her gaze darting, her voice trembling a bit. "N-no, I didn’t. I just wanted to ask if there’s anything I can help you with."
Tiana bent down and picked up her phone, spinning it once in her hand.
Her lips curved slightly, but the look in her eyes was enough to make anyone quake. "I’ll give you ten seconds to reorganize that sentence."
