Chapter 145 - 144: You’re Shameless, Peeping on Me in the Bath

Now that Xiong Jiaojiao had left with her people, Chu Liangyu decided to head back to her courtyard.

But to her surprise, Hua Youyue followed her. The light shimmering in his eyes was so bright it nearly blinded her to the path ahead.

"Is there something else you need?"

Hua Youyue coughed, suddenly growing bashful. "Are you really not considering taking on another Beast Husband?"

’I thought I made myself perfectly clear last time,’ Chu Liangyu mused. ’A smarter person would have dropped the subject by now, but I didn’t expect this boy to still be fixated on it.’

’Last time, he only tried to seduce me with his looks because his life was on the line. This time...’

Chu Liangyu pondered for a long moment but couldn’t figure out his motive. So, she just watched him quietly, saying nothing.

"I’m serious this time! Please, just consider it, won’t you?"

Chu Liangyu just gave him a look that said, ’I’m watching your little performance.’ It didn’t even take two minutes for her stare to shut him up completely.

His eyes darted around guiltily. Chu Liangyu wasn’t a contagious virus, but his reaction certainly made it seem that way.

Chu Liangyu’s patience was limited. If he wasn’t going to talk, there was no point in wasting any more time waiting.

She turned to leave, her steps unusually firm as if she’d made up her mind. Watching her go, Hua Youyue felt his heart sink.

But he had no choice. For the sake of his clansmen, he had to swallow his pride and persist.

Hua Youyue quickly rushed forward to block her path, blurting out his real purpose in one breath. After standing there for who knows how long, Hua Youyue finally remembered to go find his clansmen, but they were long gone.

By then, it was lunchtime. The Xihe Tribe had not neglected the newcomers despite their sudden arrival.

Food rations, calculated for their numbers, were quickly brought over.

Mother Hua put down her food, pulled up a stool for him, and ushered him inside to eat.

The heavy snow outside hadn’t let up, and it was already piled as high as a person. Going out to hunt was simply impossible.

To have this much food under these circumstances could only mean they had prepared it long before winter began.

Their video calls were a little different—there was no ringing. As long as there wasn’t a special Barrier or something similar in the way, the connection was instantaneous, giving the other person no time to prepare.

Thus, when Chu Liangyu was suddenly faced with the sight of Lou Sang soaking in a hot spring, her expression was one of utter shock.

The corner of Chu Liangyu’s mouth twitched. She waited a moment, figuring Lou Sang was probably dressed by now, and called him again.
