Chapter 2866: Chapter 56: Day 4 (Part 7)

The tall, handsome, and commanding Ben Lucas has undeniably become a rare spectacle in the supermarket early in the morning.

Others encountering such a man naturally feel he’s aloof and unapproachable.

But those elderly Aunties and grandmothers have no fear, instead warmly pulling Ben Lucas along, teaching him how to pick and buy.

The ingredients Ben Lucas had just chosen were almost entirely vetoed by the enthusiastic Aunties and grandmothers, who replaced them with real quality ingredients known only to seasoned homemakers.

Although such enthusiasm left Ben Lucas a bit overwhelmed, his brows remained knitted tightly.

Yet, as a soldier, even though he’s not used to their easy familiarity, Ben Lucas couldn’t use the cold, aloof demeanor he applies with subordinates at the military department to scare them away.

Finally, after experiencing what ’noisy’ shopping is all about, Ben Lucas managed to buy a heap of ingredients.

After paying, he was ready to head down to the underground parking lot, when the Aunties and grandmothers who helped him select items waved goodbye to him.

The Aunties cheerfully said, "Handsome guy, you must have moved here recently... Remember to come at this time whenever you need to shop, and we’ll help you pick."

Thus, the Major General, always cool at the military department, had no choice but to bend down politely to bid farewell to these enthusiastic Aunties and grandmothers.

...

On the other side, Harrison Lucas nearly collapsed from exhaustion yesterday, but after a good night’s sleep, felt as energetic as a dragon when arriving at the playground for Special Training today.

"Strange, usually after warming the bed for the Major, I’m so tired I can’t even lift my arms, yet today I feel completely energized."

She put on the gear, jumping up and down at the spot, truly feeling her legs were stronger, the kind of feeling you get when fully rested.

"Perhaps my body has adjusted to the intensity of warming the Major’s bed?" Harrison Lucas muttered to herself.

Today there’s training at the playground; she waited a while until the other soldiers finished their training and left.

Seeing an empty spot, Harrison Lucas instructed her comrades to time her, then began her rapid Special Training with weights.

Carrying 30 kilograms and sprinting 6 kilometers, she astonishingly completed it within twenty-five minutes.

Moreover, unlike yesterday when she almost crawled over the runway, Harrison Lucas managed to finish the last stretch standing and running quickly.

"Harrison, not bad at all, improving fast."

"You’ve got a foundation, just went too long without practice yesterday... Look at you, you’re great now."

Her comrades timing her laughed and cheered, with one of them even tossing an arm over Harrison’s shoulder.

Harrison didn’t find such closeness inappropriate; she laughed, saying, "I ate a lot today, and slept all day yesterday, recharged my batteries."

At that moment, a ’growl’ sound unexpectedly echoed.

Everyone turned to Harrison, realizing it was coming from her stomach.

Comrade: "You said you had a hearty breakfast, why are you hungry now?"

Harrison also found it strange, patting her belly, "Maybe it was the strenuous training just now..."

"Come on, let’s head to the cafeteria, treat you to a full meal." Her comrades enveloped Harrison, linking arms, then led her towards the cafeteria.

Ordinary soldiers usually eat on the cafeteria’s first floor; though the food might not be exceptionally tasty, it’s filling and plentiful.

But today, to encourage Harrison Lucas’s rapid improvement in weight training, her comrades specially ordered stewed mutton from the second floor, bringing it down for her.

"Look, Harrison, this is good stuff, normally you wouldn’t get this... Go ahead, eat more, replenish yourself."
