Xavier kept his eyes on her from behind, watching the gentle sway of her plump hips. He did not avert his gaze even when Kaya looked at him, meeting her eyes with steady confidence.

The chief took the students in the direction of the settlement, not deeper, just sideways into the Red Forest. Changing the directions, observing the markings on the tree, eventually they reached the settlement. A huge fortification, bordering the settlement, made out of chopped black trees came into view.

"We are here. This is my tribe’s settlement, the Bloodmoor village" The chief gestured to the man at the gate to open, to make way for his men carrying the offerings.

"You can set your camp here outside the walls. I will tell my men to keep the gates open and send a word when the ceremony is about to begin. All of you are welcome to join us" said the chief, following his men inside. Kaya left with him as well.

Freya instructed the students on setting up the camp. Each team was tasked to set up one tent for themselves.

"Be advised, don’t use magic to set up the camp. Otherwise, I will deduct your scores" instructed Professor Freya.

Xavier took his team and coordinated with them, setting up their team’s tent.

He stood beside Fiona after finishing setting the tent when he noticed one of his teammates staring towards him, rather at Fiona. Xavier recognized her. She was Benny, one of the friends Fiona had mentioned making.

"Your friend’s looking at you. Maybe you should go to her." said Xavier.

"No, I’m on duty right now" replied Fiona.

"We are done for the day and it’s safe here. You should take rest and be with your friend" replied Xavier

"But there is-"

"I know about it" Xavier cut her words.

"It’s fine. Go with your friend and be a normal student" said Xavier, giving Fiona’s ass a light slap, her fluffy tail wagged happily. She accepted hesitantly and moved towards Benny. A smile spread across Benny’s face watching Fiona, they soon started chatting like girls.

"You knew I was here" Kaya’s voice came from behind the thick trunk of the black tree. Her tits poked out first as she stepped forward, a chocolate-colored body with beast hide covering her generous curves while revealing her lean abdomen came into view.

"You didn’t have to hide, you know. You could’ve just joined us"

"How could I stalk my prey if I’m out in the open?" replied Kaya, taking one step closer.

"Why would you want to do that? Didn’t the chief and our professor just make peace?"

"I’ve seen the way you looked at me, such intensity. It’s the same way a beast looks at the prey it’s hunting" she said, "and I would rather hunt than be hunted"

"Is that so?"

"But you are a strange one, paleskin. I didn’t sense any hostility in your eyes. Explain that to me"

Paleskin? That was the first time Xavier had been addressed like that. Perhaps for Kaya, with her whole tribe having dark skin, she might not have met many with skin as fair as Xavier’s.

"I have a name. It’s Xavier." said Xavier.

"Whatever, paleskin, will you be attending the ceremony tonight?"

"Do you want me to?" asked Xavier. He could feel the tension between him and Kaya and also had a hint that all of this had been initiated because of the way he kept looking at her.

"Of course, why else would I invite you?" replied Kaya. "We play a little game. I’m sure you’d like it. I will even allow you to take part in it"

"That sounds fun. Sure then, I’ll come" Hearing his response, Kaya’s lips curved into a cute smile.

"I’ll see you then" Her breasts jiggled once as she turned to leave. Her ass bounced, one step at a time. Xavier just stared at her back, wondering if she’d taste like chocolate.

The word came soon. One of the tribesmen announced their invite, asking everyone to follow him. Freya at the head waited for the students to gather and then followed the tribesman inside, passing through the gates of the village wall.

Inside there were many houses made out of mud and stone, less primitive than the students had expected. The settlement felt more like a village. In the center of the village was a huge plaza with a bonfire at it’s edge, behind which a large house stood, the largest in the settlement, the house of the chief.

The plaza was surrounded by tribesmen and women, setting tables and food and chairs, decorating the area in primitive ornaments made out of fangs and bones.

"Wow, I’ve never seen anything like it" said Allen by Xavier’s side. "Have you?"

"No, I haven’t either" replied Xavier.

The whole village was lit with fire torches mounted to each house’s walls. Overall, it already gave a primitive festive vibe.

"Look at that Xavier, Even the older women here are so muscular." said Allen.

"Well of course they are. The Bloodmoor tribe is a warrior tribe. Every single one of them keeps their body fit so that they can hunt any time" said Henry, walking beside Allen. Henry was also in group 3, just not in Xavier’s team. Now that they were here to enjoy the festival, the teams were scrambled among friends.

"Eat as much as you want. The ceremony will start shortly" the tribesmen guiding them offered.

Students made their way to the tables where food was set: meat stew, fried meat, meat salad. All the dishes were meat-related, with the lack of vegetables. Xavier fixed his plate while standing beside Henry and Allen.

Allen picked up a piece of meat, skeptical about eating it. "Do you think it’s dreadhorn meat?"

"Of course it is. What else would it be?" replied Henry, taking a huge bite out of the meat.

"It’s delicious" he replied while chewing it.

Xavier followed, taking a bite from his own plate. Indeed, it tasted good. It was lightly seasoned, complementing the deep flavor of the meat.

Soon the chief of the tribe made his appearance on the stage near the bonfire.

"Before our ancestors and the spirits of the earth, we gather to mark this sacred day. Today, our child stands at the threshold and offers their youth to the gods. May the spirits watch over them, and may their path be strong under the guidance of the great gods. Let the ceremony begin" At the chief’s speech young men and women came forth, Kaya standing among them.

"Before the spirits of our great ancestors and the eyes of our entire village, prove your worth. Face the beast, show the courage of your blood, and mark this day as the day you become an adult. Let all who stand here bear witness to your passage into adulthood" At the chief’s declaration all the crowd erupted into cheers.

HSSSKREECH!! SKREEE—AAARGH!!

Some of the tribesmen dragged a huge cage into the plaza. The beast in the cage thrashed its body against the cage’s bars and erupted into horrifying screeches, the type Xavier was well familiar with.
