Yara Ross clutched her clothes tightly, her eyes bloodshot as she roared, "Open your damn eyes and take a good look!!!! Who do you think I am?"

"I’m sorry, ma’am, but you can’t come in without an invitation. Not even if you’re the former mayor’s wife."

Seeing the two servants blocking her path, Yara Ross stomped her foot in fury. "Get Harold Bishop out here! I want him to welcome me inside personally!" ’She wasn’t the kind of person you could just shoo away.’

’If only she had known that after Harold Bishop woke up, it would take him just three months to clear his name, unseat the incumbent mayor, and reclaim his post. If she’d known, she never would have been the one to file for divorce.’

She had nearly starved to death on the streets these past three months.

If she hadn’t returned to Tridell a few days ago, hoping to stay with the Ross Family for a while, she’d still be completely in the dark about how capable Harold Bishop truly was.

Heaven knew the humiliation and ridicule she had faced when she returned to the Ross family home.

’She had endured so many years of hardship. She’d finally made it to the point where Harold Bishop was awake, and it was supposed to be time for the good life to begin. The servant’s words made Yara Ross grit her teeth in fury. She lunged forward, preparing to force her way inside.

But just as she stepped through the gate, before the servants could stop her, a sarcastic female voice drifted over from behind her. "Well, well, if it isn’t my dear aunt, the mayoress. What’s wrong? Why aren’t you going in?"

"Rowan Ross!? What are you doing here?" At the sound of the voice, Yara Ross spun around. Her expression soured the moment she saw her niece, Rowan Ross.

"I was invited to the banquet, of course," Rowan Ross said with a cold, mocking smile. She handed her invitation to the servant. "What else? You think I came looking for you, Auntie?" Then she turned, casually linked arms with the man beside her, and strolled into the Bishop residence.

The sight of a bitch like Rowan Ross attending the party while she—the rightful mayoress—couldn’t even get past the gate made Yara Ross so furious she could have spat blood.

’That Harold Bishop is one cruel bastard!’

"Get out of my way! All of you, get out of my way! I want to see Harold Bishop! Tell Harold Bishop to get his ass out here!"

The servants’ expressions turned grim as they listened to Yara Ross’s screaming.

The guests, of course, heard the shouting as well, and they all turned to look toward the main gate.

When they saw Yara Ross scuffling with the servants, they all smiled mockingly, settling in to enjoy the show.

He hadn’t seen Eleanor Bishop or her family since he’d woken up in the hospital. If Leo Joyce hadn’t sent him this invitation, he still wouldn’t know where to find them.
