Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor

Chapter 517: Imparting the Art

  • Next Chapter

Ling Fei’s expression turned solemn at these words.

This was one of his worries as well.

Ordinary people stood no chance against the Kunpeng Race.

Even Emperor Tang had to exhaust his Blood Qi just to kill Kun Hai and his men!

In such a short time, could the Southern Wilderness produce another Emperor Tang?

Would the members of the Kunpeng Race they sent next be even stronger?

The situation would undoubtedly become even more dire.

“Second, the Corpse Spirit Hall has not been destroyed. They will certainly find a way to break the Seal and emerge with the Emperor Corpse.”

Emperor Tang continued, “Either of these two threats is enough to plunge the Southern Wilderness into darkness. The only solution is to completely annihilate the Kunpeng Ancestor and destroy the Emperor Corpse. However, if you stay in the Southern Wilderness, Ling Fei, your Cultivation will be limited, no matter how astoundingly talented you are. You will find it difficult to destroy those two powerful beings.”

“Staying in the Southern Wilderness will only limit your growth. It would be a waste, even if you were the Celestial Emperor. Therefore, I intend to cancel my plan to abdicate the throne to you.” Emperor Tang’s tone was tinged with regret, yet his eyes shone with wisdom. His previous desire to keep Ling Fei in the Great Tang Empire was born from a selfish wish to protect Great Tang.

But the situation was different now.

The peril facing the Southern Wilderness was even greater. How could he sacrifice their future for a moment’s peace?

The Eighth Prince and the Third Prince looked astonished upon hearing Emperor Tang’s words.

“Then, Father, your plan is…?” They were curious to know what Emperor Tang was thinking.

“What are your instructions, Your Majesty?” Ling Fei asked, his eyes flashing. He knew Emperor Tang must have some arrangement in mind.

“I hope you will leave the Southern Wilderness and become a peerless expert, one who can prop up the heavens. Then, you can return and resolve the Southern Wilderness’s two great threats for good.” A light flashed in Emperor Tang’s eyes. “Only then can the Southern Wilderness have any real hope. Otherwise, it will inevitably be plunged into darkness one day.”

Letting Ling Fei leave the Southern Wilderness now was a strategic move, a way to plan for the future.

“Rest assured, Your Majesty. I will cultivate diligently, become a mighty expert, and I will solve these two problems for the Southern Wilderness!” Ling Fei said, each word firm, his eyes resolute. This was a promise to Emperor Tang and a vow to himself. The Southern Wilderness was running out of time.

Only a peerless expert could quell this disaster.

“Good!” Emperor Tang nodded. “I have little to leave you, but I can pass on a Technique for your reference.”

“A Technique!” Ling Fei was both surprised and intensely curious.

The Eighth Prince and the Third Prince were also curious, wondering what Technique their father would impart to Ling Fei.

“During the Ancient Era, the war of the Divine Demons sundered this world. The Divine Demon Sea became the border, dividing it into the Divine Wilderness and the Southern Wilderness. Though the Southern Wilderness is but a small corner of the world, a Celestial Emperor’s Divine Artifact was sent down so that an Emperor could rule this land on behalf of the heavens and maintain order. The path of the Celestial Emperor is the cultivation of the True Dragon Body and the Celestial Emperor’s Technique…”

“The Celestial Emperor’s Technique is the art of condensing the Power of All Living Beings and vesting it in oneself. To cultivate this method, I require the Celestial Emperor’s Divine Artifact to draw that power into my body. However, there are also Great Powers who can condense the Power of All Living Beings and various forms of Telekinesis to enhance their strength without relying on a Celestial Emperor’s Divine Artifact.”

“This Technique is all-encompassing, including arts of plunder and the Destiny Method…” Emperor Tang explained, elaborating on the Celestial Emperor’s Technique for Ling Fei.

“Today, I will pass all of these Techniques to you!” A light flashed in Emperor Tang’s eyes. He pointed a finger through the Void, aiming directly at the center of Ling Fei’s brow.

HUM!

Instantly, a golden light flashed as a mystical Inscription entered Ling Fei’s mind, carrying with it a wealth of obscure and profound information.

“Celestial Emperor’s Technique, Destiny Method, plundering destiny, gathering destiny, the art of faith…” All sorts of profound techniques poured into Ling Fei’s mind.

As this information entered his mind, he immediately felt as if a new world had opened up before his eyes.

The Power of All Living Beings could be condensed not only by a Celestial Emperor, but also by the master of a sect, who could use the technique of Condensing Disciples’ Power.

For example, some Divine Spirits who have statues made in their image can also gather the Power of All Living Beings, so long as they have the faith of the masses.

…

A moment later, Ling Fei finally recovered from his shock.

Those Techniques had transformed into an Inscription, branded upon Ling Fei’s soul.

“I use the Emperor’s Dragon Platform as a vessel, which is why my cultivation of this method has been relatively smooth. It allows me, at the Divine Mansion Realm, to fight against experts of the Daoist Palace Realm,” Emperor Tang said. “However, without the Emperor’s Dragon Platform, condensing the Power of All Living Beings is not so easy. It requires a higher Cultivation and greater mastery.”

This was why Emperor Tang had once said that as the Celestial Emperor within Great Tang, he could suppress all foes. But if he were to leave Great Tang, he would become just another face in the crowd.

Without the Celestial Emperor’s Divine Artifact and the people who believed in him, how could he possibly condense the Power of All Living Beings?

Unable to condense the Power of All Living Beings, his Cultivation would naturally decrease.

This was also why he said the Celestial Emperor’s Technique was not the true path to power.

Of course, all this was because Emperor Tang was not yet strong enough.

If he were strong enough, he could draw the Power of All Living Beings into himself even if he were not in this realm.

But reaching that Realm was far too difficult.

“Thank you for this technique, Your Majesty!” Ling Fei’s eyes flashed as he bowed deeply to Emperor Tang.

“There is no need for thanks. This is all I can do for you now,” Emperor Tang said. “As for the Emperor’s Dragon Platform and the True Dragon Seal, they are Celestial Emperor’s Divine Artifacts. They are bound by the rules of the world to remain in the Southern Wilderness. Unless one is a Divine Spirit, no one can take them away. Therefore, I cannot pass these treasures on to you.”

“This technique from Your Majesty is enough to benefit me for a lifetime,” Ling Fei said earnestly.

Though the Celestial Emperor’s Divine Artifacts were powerful, Ling Fei didn’t particularly covet them.

After all, his own foundations were just as impressive.

Such as his Destruction Divine Gaze and his Dragon Bone!

Neither of these two legacies was inferior to the Celestial Emperor’s Divine Artifacts.

In fact, their potential might even be greater.

What Ling Fei needed now was room to grow.

Emperor Tang nodded slightly. He also knew of Ling Fei’s foundations.

Finally, Emperor Tang’s gaze shifted, turning to the Empress beside him. A hint of tenderness appeared in his eyes.

“It’s a pity I cannot spend the rest of my life with you.” Emperor Tang reached out with a withered hand, gently stroking the Empress’s cheek as he spoke softly.

His tone was filled with regret. Though he was the Celestial Emperor, he was also a husband.

“Your Majesty, you will get better!” The Empress grasped his hand, her eyes blurred with tears.

“Don’t be sad. I have lived a full life,” Emperor Tang said with a smile. He knew with absolute certainty that his life force was spent.

“Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to protect you.” His gaze shifted to the Eighth Prince and the Third Prince.

He had too many regrets. ⅇ

“Father!” The Third Prince and the Eighth Prince looked heartbroken.

“After I die, Third Son, you shall temporarily take the throne. Ruyue, you shall serve as regent, helping him govern Great Tang. Ling Fei, I name you Duke Guardian of our Great Tang Empire. You have the authority to depose an incompetent emperor and execute treacherous ministers. Should you find a worthy person capable of shouldering this great responsibility, you may select them to inherit the title of Celestial Emperor. Remember, only the worthy may hold the position of Celestial Emperor!” Emperor Tang’s gaze sharpened as he spoke solemnly to the two Princes, the Empress, and Ling Fei.

His voice transformed into words that sank into the Emperor’s Dragon Platform. Light Patterns flickered across its surface as his last will and testament was branded into it, forever unchangeable.

“Father, your son will uphold your teachings and protect our people!” The Third Prince was overwhelmed, never having expected to be given such a responsibility.

“Rest assured, Your Majesty. Ruyue will protect the Empire and fulfill your wish!” the Empress said, her voice choked with sobs, but her eyes shone with determination.

“Rest assured, Your Majesty. As long as I live, I will do everything in my power to protect the Southern Wilderness!” Ling Fei declared with a solemn expression.

“Your words put me at ease.” Hearing this, Emperor Tang breathed a small sigh of relief. “Though I may die, my remnant soul will remain with you all.”

This also served as a warning to them all.

As his words faded, a Light Pattern flashed on his brow. A faint wisp of a remnant soul trickled out and merged into the True Dragon Divine Artifact.
