Divine War Pill Emperor

Chapter 553 - 551: A Single Spark

  • Next Chapter

Although Huo Wu and the others were not afraid to die and urged Jiang Chen to leave, how could the Jiang Chen of today possibly abandon them?

He couldn’t do it. Besides, if he truly left, he would never be able to walk the path of a peak expert for the rest of his life.

A true expert needed an unshakeable will, one that wouldn’t flinch even if the heavens collapsed.

Faced with nothing more than the threats of Lord Wen and his men, how could he possibly flee?

He shook his head, again and again.

"Leave? No. Not only will I not leave, but today, I’m going to make sure you all get out of this safely."

"Anyone who dares to touch a single hair on your heads will die without a grave."

An unyielding spirit radiated from Jiang Chen.

He feared no hardship, no obstacle.

He would charge forward without a second thought, even into a mountain of swords and a sea of fire.

"Haha! How ridiculous."

"Don’t you know your own limitations?"

A cold glint flashed in Master Yuan Hui’s eyes. They paid Jiang Chen’s words no mind, viewing his arrogant speech as nothing but a joke.

As he finished speaking, Master Yuan Hui stepped forward.

"Jiang Chen, will you commit suicide, or must I do it for you?"

"If you kill yourself, you might not suffer much. But if I have to act, your end will be tragic."

He advanced on Jiang Chen, one step at a time.

Suddenly, Jiang Chen stretched out a hand and pointed at Master Yuan Hui.

"You old bald-ass, back off. I’ll deal with you later."

He was utterly fearless.

"You..."

At Jiang Chen’s insult, Master Yuan Hui rubbed his bald head, on the verge of exploding with rage.

This was a humiliation, a grave humiliation.

Ignoring the infuriated Master Yuan Hui, Jiang Chen instead turned to Lord Wen and said coolly, "Lord Wen, do you dare to fight me?"

What?

Upon hearing Jiang Chen’s words, Wen Shixuan, Wen Shixi, Master Yuan Hui, and even Lord Wen himself were all stunned.

Jiang Chen actually wanted a decisive battle with the current Sovereign.

It was a known fact that not only was Lord Wen the Sovereign, but his cultivation had also reached the Peak of Martial Arts Nine Heavens. Even Master Yuan Hui was not necessarily his match.

Yet now, Jiang Chen wasn’t challenging the weakest among them, Master Yuan Hui, but the strongest—Lord Wen.

This almost made Master Yuan Hui laugh.

Instead, he barked, "Brat, what makes you think you’re qualified to fight our Sovereign?"

"I alone am more than enough to deal with you."

But Jiang Chen paid him no heed. "Old bald-ass, this doesn’t concern you yet. Please stay out of it."

"You..."

Master Yuan Hui nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood in rage.

Jiang Chen had humiliated him again and again. What an utter disgrace! An absolute disgrace!

He flew into a rage.

Raising his Zen Staff, he was about to strike.

But a young monk at his side stepped forward.

It was none other than Master Yuan Hui’s disciple, Jue Wu.

Jue Wu roared, "You damn brat! How dare you curse my master! Let me teach you a lesson!"

Jiang Chen focused his gaze. It was Jue Wu, an expert at the Martial King Seventh Heaven.

Based on true strength, Jiang Chen was naturally no match for Jue Wu.

However, he had plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

He immediately replied, "Fine, little bald-ass. Come on, let’s see what you’ve got."

A single sentence from Jiang Chen was enough to make Jue Wu explode with fury.

He raised the Zen Staff in his hand, instantly gathering boundless Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi, and swept it toward Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen hastily let out a low shout, "Black Fire."

Facing an expert of this caliber, Jiang Chen dared not be careless.

A black light flashed, and the Demon-Defying Armor enveloped his body. With it, Jue Wu couldn’t easily harm him.

At the same time, a cluster of black flame ignited in Jiang Chen’s hand.

The moment the Black Fire appeared, the surrounding temperature shot up.

"Black Fire... It’s really the Black Fire."

Master Yuan Hui’s eyes widened as he stared at the Black Fire with unconcealed greed.

Only Wen Shixuan’s expression was incredibly complex as he stared at the Black Fire.

He had been certain that the Black Fire would be his, but it had ended up in Jiang Chen’s hands.

Not only had all his efforts been for naught, but he had also been beaten by Jiang Chen to within an inch of his life back in Guyue City. The hatred he felt for Jiang Chen was immense.

Even Lord Wen’s eyes flickered,

staring at the Black Fire in Jiang Chen’s possession.

Jue Wu’s Zen Staff, imbued with his Cultivation Power, came crashing down with terrifying force.

Seeing this, Jiang Chen made the Black Fire dance in his hand before abruptly flinging it at Jue Wu.

The Black Fire transformed into a long whip, one end held by Jiang Chen, the other lashing out toward Jue Wu.

The scorching flame incinerated all in its path.

SWOOSH!

In that instant, the flame coiled directly around Jue Wu’s Zen Staff.

PFFT!

The fire spread rapidly. In the blink of an eye, it traveled up the Zen Staff and onto Jue Wu’s arm.

Jue Wu’s face fell. A searing pain shot through his arm, and he hastily dropped the Zen Staff. The attack he had just unleashed dissipated in an instant.

But the Black Fire was a terrifying Fire of Heaven and Earth. Even in a small quantity, it was more than enough to threaten a Martial King of the Seventh Heaven like him.

It forced him to abandon his Magical Treasure.

WHOOSH!

The moment he released the Zen Staff, it fell into Jiang Chen’s grasp.

With a flash, the Zen Staff vanished. It was a Treasure Artifact. Although Jiang Chen didn’t think much of it, he could give it to his subordinates.

Jiang Chen was, after all, beginning to build his own faction.

Meanwhile, a wisp of the flame had already caught on Jue Wu’s arm.

FWOOSH!

A single spark can start a wildfire, and Jiang Chen’s Black Fire engulfed Jue Wu’s entire arm in an instant.

It seemed to ignite on contact with flesh, instantly turning Jue Wu’s arm into a flaming torch.

Black flames danced menacingly.

Jue Wu’s face drained of color.

The intense, burning pain terrified him out of his wits.

The Black Fire didn’t just burn his flesh; it incinerated his very bones.

One could say that wherever the Black Fire passed, it left nothing but ash in its wake.

The most troublesome aspect of the Black Fire was that as long as it wasn’t extinguished, it would continue to spread and burn, never going out on its own.

Unless Jiang Chen recalled it.

And so, Jue Wu began to panic, at a complete loss.

His arm was practically destroyed.

Just then, Master Yuan Hui shouted, "Disciple, quick! Sacrifice your arm!"

He was right. The only way to stop the Black Fire from burning was to sever his own arm. Otherwise, it would travel up his arm and consume his entire body.

If the Black Fire spread to his whole body, no one would be able to save him.

Knowing the situation was critical, Master Yuan Hui urgently reminded his disciple.

Losing an arm to save his life was a worthy trade.

But Jue Wu hesitated, even as the searing pain in his arm made him grimace.

Cold sweat poured down his face.

’I never thought the Black Fire would be this powerful!’

Finally, he knew that if he didn’t resolve to abandon his arm, it would be too late.

A sword appeared in his hand, and he hastily swung it at his own arm.

SLICE!

In an instant, Jue Wu severed his own arm.

Blood sprayed from the wound.

Fortunately, Jue Wu immediately used his Cultivation to stanch the bleeding and quickly swallowed a Hemostatic Pill.

Then, he looked up at Jiang Chen, his eyes filled with horror.

Master Yuan Hui was absolutely livid.

He roared, "Brat, die! How dare you harm my disciple!"

He was about to strike.
