Divine Level Witch Doctor

Chapter 557 - 557: Because He Is Zhao Yuan

At the clinic, watching the Mercedes G55 SUV disappear in a cloud of dust, several doctors gathered around Chen Qiang and asked, bewildered, "Dean Chen, why didn't you send a doctor with them? Can that kid really get the patients to the county hospital safely just by treating them in the car?"

Chen Qiang retracted his gaze, glanced at the doctors, and replied, "If he can't do it, no one can."

"What do you mean by that?" The doctors were all taken aback, not understanding why Dean Chen would say such a thing.

Dean Chen asked, "Do you guys know who he is?"

The doctors all shook their heads. They hadn't gotten a clear look at Zhao Yuan's face, only that he was a young man.

But Chen Qiang had seen him clearly. He said gravely, "The man in that car... that was Zhao Yuan!"

"Zhao Yuan?" The doctors gasped, asking in unison, "Which Zhao Yuan?"

Dean Chen shot them an exasperated look and snapped, "Which other Zhao Yuan could there be? Of course, I'm talking about the new star of the medical world, the pride of West Hua Medical University! The one who just defeated that Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner in Huashang a few days ago and defended the honor of our Chinese Medicine!"

"Oh my god, he's Zhao Yuan!"

"Zhao Yuan is my idol! I can't believe I didn't recognize him. I'm a terrible fan!"

"If Zhao Yuan's the one treating them, then those three patients should be safe!"

The doctors, still reeling from the shock, began to exclaim amongst themselves.

Not long ago, the medical duel in Huashang between Zhao Yuan and Kawashima Haruhiro had caused a huge stir in the medical world. It was heavily covered by both television and online news. The event had only just concluded a few days prior, so it was still fresh in the minds of these doctors. The moment Dean Chen brought him up, they all knew exactly who Zhao Yuan was.

At the same time, they all came to the same conclusion as the one who spoke earlier—with Zhao Yuan on the case, the patients were safe!

"Wait a minute, why would Zhao Yuan come all the way out here?" one doctor, amidst the shock, suddenly asked with curiosity.

A colleague beside him said, "I actually heard a rumor. Zhao Yuan... he's from our very own Chuncheng County!"

"No way? Zhao Yuan is from Chuncheng?" The group of doctors, including Dean Chen, was stunned by this revelation. "Good heavens, he's the pride of Chuncheng! I feel so honored to be from the same hometown as Zhao Yuan!"

Zhao Yuan, however, was oblivious to the discussions among the Bahu Town doctors after his departure. At that moment, he was in the vehicle, continuing to treat the patients. Yong Qin, the nurse Dean Chen had sent to assist, didn't let him down. She skillfully set up IVs with blood plasma substitutes for all three patients. Under his direction, she also administered anti-shock medication to the mother and child, whose injuries were the most severe.

Yong Qin watched in utter astonishment as Zhao Yuan performed surgery on the patients.

'She had never seen anyone perform surgery so flawlessly—let alone in the back of a moving Mercedes! Zhao Yuan's hands were so fast, so steady, she couldn't help but wonder if they were truly human.'

Previously, he'd had no assistant and had to do everything himself. But now, with Yong Qin by his side, Zhao Yuan could focus all his energy on saving the patients. As a result, his treatments and his surgeries progressed even faster and more smoothly than before!

A little over an hour later, the Mercedes G55, driven by Bone Woman, screeched to a halt at the entrance of Chuncheng County People's Hospital.

By then, Zhao Yuan had just finished repairing the femoral artery of the patient who had been bleeding out.

He had dealt with the most severe, life-threatening injuries on all three patients. They were now essentially out of immediate danger. All that remained was for Chuncheng County People's Hospital to treat their other wounds.

The moment the car came to a stop, Bone Woman threw open the rear hatch, leaped out, and yelled at a triage nurse inside the outpatient building, "Get the ER and surgery departments down here, now! We've brought the patients hit by the rockslide on the mountain!"

Moments later, a team of doctors and nurses rushed out of the hospital, pushing gurneys.

Zhao Yuan and Yong Qin got out as well, helping to move the three patients onto the gurneys.

Chuncheng County People's Hospital had already been alerted and had operating rooms and beds ready. The moment the patients arrived, they were whisked away to the OR for surgery.

Zhao Yuan accompanied the gurneys on their way to the operating room, briefing the Chuncheng County People's Hospital doctors on the patients' conditions and the emergency procedures he had already performed.

The doctors listened in disbelief.

If the patients' conditions were as severe as Zhao Yuan described, even their hospital's top surgical experts wouldn't have dared to operate under such circumstances—let alone in the back of a Mercedes with nothing but a single surgical kit.

It was simply unbelievable!

They couldn't resist questioning Zhao Yuan, trying to confirm if what he was saying was even possible.

In the midst of their questioning, someone recognized him and cried out, "You're Zhao Yuan?"

"I am," Zhao Yuan confirmed with a nod.

Once his identity was confirmed, the skeptical crowd instantly changed their tune. "Oh, it's you! Well, that explains everything!"

Clearly, these doctors and nurses had all seen the news about Zhao Yuan's duel with the Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. In their eyes, his medical prowess was extraordinary. That being the case, it was no longer surprising that he could successfully perform three surgeries that would seem impossibly difficult to any ordinary person.

At the entrance to the operating room, Zhao Yuan stopped. He didn't go in. Instead, he waved to the three patients and said, "Stay strong. You're all going to pull through!"

All three patients had regained consciousness thanks to Zhao Yuan's treatment. Though incredibly weak, they mustered what little strength they had, their lips moving faintly.

They were trying to speak.

Saying, "Thank you."

Streams of grateful Wish Power flowed from their bodies and surged into Zhao Yuan.

Watching the three patients disappear into the operating room, Zhao Yuan finally allowed himself to relax.

"Come on, I'll take you back," he said to Yong Qin. The two of them turned and headed downstairs.

On the way, they stopped at a restroom to wash the blood from their hands.

When they reached the entrance of the outpatient building, Bone Woman was cleaning the blood from the car. Zhao Yuan glanced over. "We'll find a car wash to handle that later. We can grab lunch nearby, and then we'll head back up the mountain."

He turned to Yong Qin. "Nurse Yong, is that alright with you?"

Yong Qin nodded. "No problem. I'm starving, actually."

Saving lives required intense focus and consumed a tremendous amount of energy. Now that the pressure was off, both Zhao Yuan and Yong Qin realized they were famished.
