Chapter 600: Fallen
Chapter 600: Chapter 600: Fallen
Inside a luxurious villa.
’Even after falling on hard times, she still has such a nice place to live. It seems Hilea has quite a few supporters.’
Shu Feng sat on a plush sofa, observing the room’s luxurious decor and silently making his assessment.
Hilea sat on the sofa across from Shu Feng. "Lord Kahn, please be patient. I will give you an answer within three days."
Shu Feng said, "Very well."
Hilea clapped her hands lightly, and a woman entered, standing quietly by her side. She was a stunning beauty with blonde hair and blue eyes, tall and voluptuous in her maid uniform.
Hilea said, "Lord Kahn, this is Barbara. She was once the most famous dancer in our Saint Arman Kingdom. From this day forward, she is your maid. I hope you like this gift."
Shu Feng smiled faintly. "I like this gift very much."
"Then I shall take my leave."
Having arranged everything, Hilea rose to her feet and left the villa.
「Inside the Holy Eagle City Guard Army’s garrison.」
"This idiot really is a Hero!!"
A tall, middle-aged man in Silver Battle Armor had one foot on Arthur’s head and an arm wrapped around Eliza. He looked closely at Arthur’s Magic Energy Card and spoke with some surprise.
This middle-aged man was the Holy Eagle City Guard Army’s East Gate Commander, Mikel, a Tier Five Professional Skill User.
"Take your filthy hands off Eliza!!"
Arthur lay on the ground like a dead dog. He glared at Mikel, his eyes burning with a flame of regret, Despair, and boundless rage.
Not long after Arthur and his companion had parted ways with Shu Feng, they were found by the Holy Eagle City Guard Army.
A few Adventurers who knew Arthur and Eliza acted as intermediaries, helping them resolve their misunderstanding with the City Guard Army.
Mikel, the Commander of the City Guard Army, appeared in person and warmly hosted the pair, only to drug their food and drinks. The formidable Tier Five Professional Skill Users, Arthur and Eliza, were instantly rendered helpless, collapsing to the floor like two dead dogs, completely unable to resist.
"Idiot! Who the hell do you think you are, talking to me like that?"
A savage glint flashed in Mikel’s eyes. He swung his sword, and a flash of light like Lightning struck Arthur’s right arm, severing it completely.
"No!!"
Arthur screamed, his body trembling and his eyes filled with Despair. He was a Sword Saint; seventy percent of his prowess came from his two hands. With his right arm severed, his combat power had just plummeted by over seventy percent.
"I hear some people are quite skilled with their left hand too! But with no hands at all, let’s see how you’ll get your revenge!!"
Mikel gave a bone-chilling grin and swung his sword again, severing Arthur’s left arm.
A black demonic hound pounced forward, snatching up Arthur’s severed arms and beginning to chew on them voraciously.
"No!!"
Arthur’s face contorted in agony and Despair. He thrashed wildly, screaming in anguish. For a Sword Saint, losing both hands was the same as being utterly crippled.
"Hahaha! The great Hero, screaming like a dying dog. It’s magnificent! Arthur, I’m going to violate your woman right in front of you. Then I’ll pass her to my men for their fun before chopping her to pieces and feeding her to the dogs!!"
"After all, she’s the Hero’s Saintess, and she has the potential to become a Legendary Professional Skill User. It’s a shame such a fine woman ended up with a stupid piece of trash like you! Her tragic fate is all your fault, you foolish waste of space! Hahaha!"
Mikel grinned savagely and stomped his foot hard on Arthur’s face, his eyes gleaming with twisted envy and excitement.
Mikel’s Profession was merely Swordsman, and reaching Tier Five Professional Skill User was his absolute limit. No matter how many Demons he slayed, he could never advance to become a Legendary Professional Skill User. Such were the limits of a mortal.
Arthur’s Profession was Hero, and Eliza’s was Saintess. They both possessed limitless potential for evolution and could even obtain Divine Techniques, becoming the most powerful beings beneath the Divine Spirits. This filled Mikel with immense jealousy. He wanted to torture these two chosen children of heaven to satisfy his twisted mind.
Most of the powerful individuals who joined the Serpent of Fear Church were deviants with twisted minds. After all, not many normal people would willingly join a church that regularly performed blood sacrifices and all sorts of horrifying, sinister rituals.
"It’s all my fault! These bastards... they all deserve to die! I should never have parted ways with Kahn!"
Arthur’s face was a mask of twisted agony as he looked at Eliza, her own face wracked with Pain. His eyes were filled with utter Despair.
"Delicious. The aura of your Pain and Despair... it is truly exquisite. This is the perfect vessel to bear my Lord’s Power."
The High Priest of the Serpent of Fear Church slowly walked in. He wore a Priest’s Robe embroidered with a large black snake. Gazing at the despair-filled face of Arthur as if admiring a priceless treasure, he sighed in appreciation.
"Greetings, High Priest!"
The moment Mikel saw the High Priest, a look of awe flashed in his eyes, and he spoke respectfully.
The High Priest of the Serpent of Fear Church was unfathomably powerful, a Divine-level Professional Skill User who undoubtedly possessed Divine Techniques. Furthermore, as the High Priest, he was also a terrifying sadist, and Mikel didn’t dare to offend him.
"Mikel, you’ve done very well. My Lord is most pleased. Continue as you see fit. I will make sure he witnesses everything!"
The High Priest of the Serpent of Fear Church gave a placid smile, pointed his Magic Staff, and a bizarre black Demon Snake sank into Arthur’s body.
Arthur’s body shuddered. His eyes flew wide open, fixed on Eliza and Mikel.
Mikel grinned savagely. "Yes, High Priest! I will make this idiot taste this world’s true Fear and Despair."
Waves of shrill screams echoed through the garrison as one inhuman tragedy after another unfolded.
「Dusk.」
Over a thousand corpses of the City Guard Army lay scattered throughout the garrison. Standing silently amidst the bodies was a man. His face was savage and contorted, his eyes were black as ink, and within them swam the phantoms of two Demon Snakes. He held a Magic Sword and radiated a twisted, chaotic Magic Power.
This man was none other than Arthur. His Magic Sword was run through the heart of his beloved, Eliza. Two streams of black, bloody tears trickled from his eyes.
A crimson Magic Array glowed beneath him. Waves of twisted, blood-red energy flowed ceaselessly into Arthur’s body, making his aura even more terrifying.
"Magnificent! As expected of a Hero, you possess the greatest potential and can bear my Lord’s Power. Let us go, Evil Snake."
The High Priest gazed at Arthur, whose savage face now resembled a monster’s, and a satisfied smile touched his lips. He turned and walked away.
Arthur yanked his Long Sword free. With a slight tremor of the blade, he shattered Eliza’s body into fragments. A savage light glinted in his eyes as he silently fell in step behind the High Priest, walking away.
