Chapter 4870 Recruiting A Powerful Supreme Genius?
Chapter 4870 Recruiting A Powerful Supreme Genius?
"Then I won't stand on ceremony. I'm thirsty after returning from a long journey and having an unexpected guest."
Jiayi Crystalveil reached out her hand to grasp the only tea she had prepared and drank it without any hesitation. The other party simply smiled before nodding with approval.
"Straightforward- is how I would like it. Tell me, do you need me to guard you?"
"Yes," Jiayi Crystalveil kept the cup down in a refined motion, full of grace, and continued, "Fairy Retribution is quite perceptive. You have my admiration for quickly understanding my needs. Earlier…"
She explained about the poisoned aphrodisiac cup and the three Young Masters who were the most likely suspects, of which her fiancée, Akarr Ruo, was the most suspicious one.
"What a good husband-to-be figure. I knew he was a bad apple when I battled him back then and displayed a slight show of force to make him back off, but didn't think he was such a rotten one."
The gold-crimson-robed woman said calmly, but her smile behind her veil appeared to exude immense anger.
"If you feel what I'm saying is true, please help me eliminate the bastard who sneaks into this room at night over my signal. I can do it myself, but just in case, I might need help. I will make sure to compensate you fairly for the help."
"No need to worry about payment. I know you are speaking the truth. As a righteous warrior, I'm obligated to help when matters like this pop up."
"So the rumors about you possessing Enigmatic Heart Laws were true?"
"What do you think?" The gold-crimson-robed woman raised her crimson brows, her green eyes flashing.
'I'm glad I didn't subconsciously activate the technique to cloud Heart Intent after the Divine Emperor of Death pointed it out… or she would've misunderstood it entirely, thinking I was deceiving her…'
Jiayi Crystalveil was flooded with emotions of gratefulness to both parties.
Nonetheless, with the gold-crimson-robed woman easily agreeing, Jiayi Crystalveil felt relaxed and exchanged pleasantries, acknowledging the other party's beauty and classy outlook, praising her for her unfathomable background.
The gold-crimson-robed woman made no comment about her background, wishing to keep it a secret, so Jiayi Crystalveil didn't probe further.
Time passed, and Jiayi Crystalveil felt it was about time, so she had Fairy Retribution hide. She didn't know her true name, nor did the other party want to reveal it, so she didn't ask.
Jiayi Crystalveil went to bed, twisting and turning, putting on a performance.
Soon, a void appeared in the chamber.
'A backdoor!'
Jiayi Crystalveil instantly noticed but pretended she didn't, the makeup on her face making her appear extremely lovely and sexually appealing as though she was in heat. She couldn't believe the damned Head Manager of this branch actually made a backdoor to the VIP chamber without explicit permission.
It was insane.
As the void expanded silently, folding space inward like a slit was carved by invisible claws, a black-robed figure stepped through.
This figure emerged with restrained steps, their eyes burning with a mixture of resentment and unchecked desire. Their aura was suppressed yet unstable, as though their emotions were leaking through cracks in his composure. The moment their gaze fell upon the bed, their breathing quickened.
Jiayi Crystalveil lay there with half-lidded eyes, her skin flushed beneath the faint glow of lantern light. Her chest rose and fell unevenly, lips slightly parted as though struggling against an overwhelming tide.
"Jiayi…" A manly voice echoed with passion.
To him, it was a sight that erased the last remnants of caution. He approached her boldly.
This person was none other than Akarr Ruo.
"Finally," he muttered, rancor and excitement tangling together, "After all that pride you displayed, full of refusal, you still end up like this, end up under my crotch. What a wonderful day."
"Do you remember? Back then, when you came to visit me when we were children, the four of us played together, but you were more open to Helvard Lute. I hated it, so I wanted to punish you, but you became more and more dazzling, becoming capable of annulling the marriage. I particularly didn't care because you and I were from two different worlds, but you just had to come back here with a cargo full of gifts for me."
Akarr Ruo licked his lips, removing his sash and undressing his robe.
He took a step forward, another, and the instant he crossed the final invisible boundary, Jiayi Crystalveil's eyes snapped open.
All traces of confusion and heat in her eyes seemingly vanished, replaced with an ice-cold gaze.
Akarr Ruo froze while mid-undressing, instinct screaming too late.
A flash of crimson light erupted.
Jiayi Crystalveil was already standing when his head left his shoulders. The sword in her hand sang once, clean and absolute, severing flesh, bone, and soul in a single refined arc. Blood sprayed briefly as the carcass fell.
Jiayi Crystalveil gazed down and looked at the place where the severed head landed. His expression was still twisted in disbelief.
A Sovereign wanted to violate an Autarch? Courting death!
From the shadows, the gold-crimson-robed woman emerged.
"Decisive," Fairy Retribution said calmly as she approached across the corner, "-and flawless."
Suddenly, a golden sword appeared in her hand, and she waved it near a vase, seemingly careless. However, a head rolled.
"…!" Jiayi Crystalveil's heart shook.
"If you managed to find the second intruder, it would be even more amazing." Fairy Retribution uttered with a faint smile. With a swipe, she used the curtain beside the vase to clean her golden sword before it disappeared again.
Jiayi Crystalveil really was shocked beyond compare.
She didn't think there would be a second intruder since she imagined the second intruder was obviously the Divine Emperor of Death, but there is no way Fairy Retribution could kill him in one fell swoop or even find him.
She approached Fairy Retribution and investigated the second intruder.
Only after she checked the face and saw that it wasn't the Divine Emperor of Death did she smile, but she didn't worry in the first place, keeping herself calm. But she wasn't worried she would be found out since she started using her technique to cloud Heart Intent from knowing her emotions.
At this point, she wasn't worried even if Fairy Retribution were to question it.
"Unfortunately, I didn't, but let's see… this person is from… the World's End Hall…"
"An assassin?" Fairy Retribution faintly smiled, appearing amused, "And a powerful one. Although not a match for me, your life certainly was in jeopardy today. Seems like your renown has already invited extreme jealousy, or did you offend someone you can't afford to?"
"I don't think so." Jiayi Crystalveil wryly smiled.
"Then good luck living from now on. The World's End Hall sends every Autarch against you until you die or you kill their strongest Autarch once they accept a job. An Early Stage Autarch Assassin was killed by me, but they'll send more soon enough."
"I know." Jiayi Crystalveil stood up, calling her little brother to clean up the scene.
Right now, the Ruo Family would be greatly alarmed since their Young Master's life tablet would have broken. She reached out her and the severed hand automatically flew to her.
She then exited the chamber and flew out, hovering before the True Peak Emporium.
The people in the street abruptly felt a sharp intent emerge from the air, causing them to look up.
"Today, Young Master Akarr Ruo attempted to poison and violate me, Jiayi Crystalveil, despite my attempts to annul the marriage contract. I have taken the liberty to end his life before he could do an evil deed, so I hope the Ruo Family won't find fault with me. As for proof, if you want it, come get it, but I will pursue this issue until the Ruo Family pays for this mess a hundred times."
Her voice was cold yet concise, causing countless hearts to shudder.
Bjansen Yung and Helvard Lute also hurriedly came out, appearing shocked at this scene. They had no doubt there was going to be pandemonium in this realm. Furthermore, Jiayi Crystalveil would be more or less known as the fiancée killer since the marriage contract still existed!
"Young Master!"
The Ruo Family's entourage hurriedly came out and released a shrill cry full of grief and anger.
However, with a single look from Jiayi Crystalveil, they turned silent, their heads lowered.
Jiayi Crystalveil only cast them a glance before she returned with the head in her hands and then gave it to Ragoon Crystalveil.
"Adorn it in a transparent vase at the fifth-floor balcony and let the world see what will happen if they want to harm me."
"Yes!"
Ragoon Crystalveil answered excitedly before he ran off, leaving Jiayi Crystalveil and Fairy Retribution alone in the VIP chamber.
"Perfectly done~"
Fairy Retribution nodded, "A woman should be like this- retaliate without fear. I'll protect you for one more day before I leave."
"Many thanks, Fairy Retribution. Your help is greatly appreciated."
"Heh," Fairy Retribution smirked coolly, "Maybe you should stop being the Demonic Merchant of Death if you want to live. Associating with an Anarchic Divergent is not really a suitable business decision if you really think about it."
Jiayi Crystalveil's gaze flickered, "Thank you for the advice, but I'm not associating but siphoning, remember?"
"Somehow, I doubt that." Fairy Retribution scoffed lightly, "It seems like you know methods to deceive Heart Intent, not that I find it strange, since characters of your status and wealth do know a thing or two about blocking many kinds of probes to protect yourselves. In any case, I find you interesting and worth my time. Perhaps, we could become friends since we're in the same generation."
Jiayi Crystalveil kept her calm as she cupped her hands, "I am honored, but I can also feel your approach towards me isn't one without intent."
Fairy Retribution's gaze flashed, "I like smart people, but I like smart women even more."
She smirked, "My intent in approaching you- tell me what you know about the Divine Emperor of Death."
Jiayi Crystalveil couldn't help but smile, "You want to hunt him?"
It was an amused smile that relayed that there wasn't anything anyone could do unless they were at the Primarch Stage.
"Not really." Fairy Retribution threw her hands, shrugging, "I'm not foolish enough to enter a direct confrontation with a calamity of that level. I need to just provide information to the right sources, and I'll have my name imprinted on a monument beside my grandfather."
Jiayi Crystalveil shook her head wryly before she abruptly froze. She couldn't help but take a step back as she watched Fairy Retribution's gaze turn more and more predatory.
"You are…?"
Fairy Retribution raised her hand, lightly fiddling with her hair at her forehead, "Anastasia Archus, the eighth granddaughter of Claude Archus, the Supreme One."
"…!"
"Congratulations." Fairy Retribution's smile grew more overbearing, "Now we know if the Divine Emperor of Death targeted me, you'll be solely responsible for it because when I descended, I told my mother that the only one I'm going to tell my true identity is to Jiayi Crystalveil, the Demonic Merchant of Death."
