Chapter 4741 From The Jaws
Chapter 4741 From The Jaws
"Never mind."
Davis lowered his head.
His body bent, and he looked like he was going to run a hundred-meter dash as a black-golden vortex emerged underneath his soles. At the same time, his martial energy surged forth and channeled the tumbling blood energy in his body as he pulled them back, his sclera turning crimson.
*Rumble~*
The color of the heaven and earth changed as a spectral-black ghostly yin energy surged from her. Her lips moved behind her veiled hat.
"Divine Technique: Supreme Ghost Yin Scripture, Ghost-Frost Steals The Flow."
*Wssh~*
A cold chill spread from her palms.
In front of her palms, a giant bloody maw appeared. The thick fang-like jaws sank into the purple-crimson-robed maiden who was falling into it. Some tentacles with sharp, harpoon-like edges stabbed into her and held her close, disallowing her to escape.
But at this moment, the entirety of the giant bloody maw froze. Its blood froze, bringing its movement to an abrupt closure, yet it merely stopped for a second.
*Clang!~*
The sound of sharp teeth smashing against each other echoed, but it only managed to reap remnant obliteration energy and a… leg.
*Bzzz!~*
Davis appeared on the other side with a purple-crimson-robed woman in his arms, his blood tumbling as a great amount of martial energy circulated within, which his chaos-destruction-tempered body was actually weak to support.
*Crack!~*
His bones held, but his skin cracked, and his internal organs suffered from the high-speed movement combined with his body turning into a cushion so that it doesn't destroy the damsel in distress into a blood mist.
"Hggh!"
Fairy Thunderblaze jolted. She didn't feel the beautifully maneuvered rescue since she felt as though a cloud had carried her away. However, the pain from her left leg couldn't be described as it was ripped apart from her lower body. She subconsciously held the shoulders of the man who carried her and pressed them greatly, seeking to get rid of the pain as her expression kept changing.
For a moment, innumerable thoughts flashed past her mind.
If she remembered correctly, she saw a spatial dome appear from Davis's mysterious ring, which the Blood Realm Calamity exposed as the Temporal Voidplane Ring. She realized at the last moment she was sealed by him, yet she was back here now.
Instantly, her essence energy roared amidst her weakness as she tried to float and counter the next strike that was going to come.
However, she saw the giant bloody maw melt and lose its vibrancy after shutting its jaw.
"There's no need to worry. I've taken care of the Blood Realm Calamity." Davis's voice echoed from the back.
He didn't stand up. He held his chest, controlling the great flow of blood energy within his veins that was too strong to control. He couldn't believe his base martial energy was now twenty-three levels higher. That was a solid increase of three levels higher than his previous Body Tempering Cultivation's prowess.
Yet the blood energy soared, giving him as much as three levels higher, so his prowess nearly hit twenty-six levels higher, almost equaling a normal punch unleashed using chaos-destruction energy from before.
*Pui!~*
He spat a mouthful of blood from being unable to control the blood flow and collapsed weakly.
"You-"
Fairy Thunderblaze glanced at him and around, only managing to find Lady Thunderwraith and no sign of the Blood Realm Calamity. In fact, even the air seemed strange as it was different than before. Nonetheless, feeling that Davis looked pale and had trouble controlling his energy despite the massive increase in his bodily prowess, she clenched her teeth and bent to help him up.
"Are you sure this place is safe?" She asked, her tone commanding as she lifted him up.
Without a leg, she flew.
"Yes…" Davis kept coughing out small amounts of blood, his vision was going blurry, and his mind was feeling dizzy.
The overwhelming blood energy and the internal damage caused by Archon Zatura seemed to be a bad match, the latter worsening the former.
Davis had his first case of internal energy complication, making him laugh wryly.
"Don't laugh. Control your energy…"
Fairy Thunderblaze couldn't understand heads or tails, but first, she knew she needed to leave this place. However, the strange thing was that there was an abode a few hundred meters away, and it appeared to belong to Davis as he pointed over.
"Get in there. It's safe, I promise. I'll heal your leg… take me there quick."
Fairy Thunderblaze's expression churned with pain. Her lips quivered. She wasn't a stranger to pain as she had undergone a gruesome training since childhood, but having never lost a limb, the pain was extreme to her. More than anything, she was also out of energy and exhausted.
She bit her lips and did as he said, moving toward the abode.
Lady Thunderwraith followed suit.
Blood dripped on their way, mixing into a puddle until Fairy Thunderblaze made him sit down on a bed.
Davis immediately went cross-legged and did his best to curb the overwhelming blood energy rocking his body. Life energy surged forth, calming the tremendous surge of martial energy. It was as though his body would explode if he wasn't being careful.
Fairy Thunderblaze plopped on a sofa nearby. She didn't mind blood pouring from her thighs onto the surface. Using normal flames, she cauterized the cut over her thigh, momentarily sealing it while biting her lips through the intense pain racking her nerves.
"…"
Lady Thunderwraith looked at the two of them, thinking the way they dealt with their problems wasn't even human. Didn't they have healing and meditation pills to deal with these kinds of things? On second thought, she realized they were too powerful for those pills to be working on them.
For a moment, she was glad that she didn't have any flesh since they looked miserable.
Still, she didn't even catch a glimpse of Davis when he saved Fairy Thunderblaze, even though she was watching with wide eyes, and yet, he didn't cause her to explode at all, since bodies clashing at that kind of speed would inevitably explode into a blood mist.
It left an everlasting impression on her, allowing her to know his control over his energy and body was nearly flawless.
"What's going on?" Fairy Thunderblaze asked as she turned to look at her.
"A lot of time has passed. The owner of this garden came to kill him and enslave me to look after the ghosts, but a guardian of that big mountain came by and made the owner of this garden flee, but only temporarily."
"Existences above the Exalt Stage?" Fairy Thunderblaze's expression changed, her eyes widening in near fright.
"Yes. Now we're stuck here. You could ask him for further details." Lady Thunderwraith said coldly. Then she added.
"It appears he was also struck by a stray energy wave from that kind of existence, so his condition isn't good. He needs to recover."
Fairy Thunderblaze turned to look at Davis, unable to believe he was still alive after taking such a hit. Even if it was stray energy, how can one remain alive?
After some time, Davis opened his eyes after having quelled the tumultuous flow of his blood a bit. Only then did he see Fairy Thunderblaze look at him with an inquisitive yet painful look.
"What happened? Why did you save me?"
Davis stared at her, his gaze appearing complicated.
'The key to getting out probably lies with you, Zenova…'
