Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4635: Grand Auction

Chapter 4635: Grand Auction

Davis barely got to see the auction host before they left the scene in the darkness of the stage.

They were in their human form, and he only managed to see four horns on their head. From the outline of the head and the length of the shoulder, he guessed it was a man.

It made Davis wonder how powerful he was.

The magical beasts were quite racist when it came to bloodlines, so Davis guessed that he would be a rogue magical beast not belonging to any power unless someone had the gall to take him and offend the hegemonic powers.

“Where could he be from?” Isabella asked curiously, “I could feel the aura of a Five-Clawed Imperial Dragon from him, but the other part, a kirin’s aura, certainly didn’t lose out…”

“It’s likely a compatible bloodline mix, like how Evelynn’s Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid and Earth Dragon came together.” Davis answered before he tried to recall the major Kirin powers in the galaxy.

“I think his other origin should be from the Verdant Time Galaxy since I heard the strongest kirin race is from there after being defeated by the True Dragon Race.” Davis muttered under his breath, unsure since he had just heard this while interrogating Almer Spacewill.

“Oh? They’re under the rule of spirits in the Verdant Time Galaxy?” Shirley blinked before she nodded, “Time spirits could be powerful, but they might not last long with all the restrictions the universe or the heavens places on them, so I presume they will seek out strong races to combine their forces and work together.”

“Makes sense.” Davis also thought the same.

His lips couldn’t help but curl since everyone would think the universe and the heavens were one and the same, but his family automatically tended to think the two were different since they didn’t want to be outsiders in their own home.

He had said such words in the past, so they had taken on his viewpoints. They all had a sense of belonging to him, wanting to maintain the same stance on him on most matters.

Nonetheless, as they entered the heart of the sprawling marketplace, the auction hall, they were already inside a bustling and monumental structure of Mid-Level Empyrean Grade blackstone and silverwood, the domed roof glittering with thousands of runes that kept the structure reinforced and protected against hostile energies.

The dome alone spanned several kilometers, and underneath the edges were layered formations that ensured privacy, security, and an opulent atmosphere to make the wealthy people feel accommodated.

Lavish private units fashioned from polished jade and transcendent crystals adorned the edges underneath the dome. Each suite was veiled in silken curtains that blocked out soul sense. From within these vantage points, the wealthy and mighty could look down on the proceedings and bid at ease with private bidding stones and sound transmission arrays.

Closer toward the center stood ascending platforms reserved for influential sects and clans. Each was separated by semi-transparent barriers of spiritual light, granting just enough privacy while still letting everyone gauge their rivals.

The common bidders filled the wide surface, their stone benches marked with number plates and overseen by formation guardians to prevent chaos. These areas buzzed with lively chatter, the air thick with the scent of anticipation and ambition.

Davis’s group had just arrived at the ground floor when a strong fey appeared in front of them wearing the badge of the four hosts, a design comprising the phoenix, moon, tiger, and mist. He bowed towards them, barely managing to hide his trembling.

“Divine Emperor of Death, we have reserved a VIP room for you, but due to the rules based on fairness, we have to check if you’re capable of sitting there. There should be at least thirty Primarch Grade resources with you.”

“Sure…” Davis didn’t nitpick.

He directly removed the spatial ring he used for trade and handed it over. His left fingers always had many rings. For one, they might break since they’re still Immortal Emperor Grade rings, and for the other, he always maintained a protective layer of chaos energy on them if he wasn’t using concealment.

The Primarch Grade resources also weighed heavily on the spatial rings, but as long as the pressure wasn’t terrifying and there was ample space left, they wouldn’t break internally. This was why spatial rings could also be thrown into spatial rings. For this reason, Davis carried thousands of spatial rings with him.

As long as a spatial ring was empty, it could carry another ten or a hundred of its kind based on its make and materials, and the spatial rings Davis possessed were all top-tier, stolen from Heaven’s Warriors and supreme geniuses.

The attendant politely took the spatial ring and checked. There were only twenty-two left. However, he simply smiled, “There are more than thirty. Please follow me.”

Davis rubbed his chin with a strange look on his face before he nodded approvingly and followed.

They did see him transact around ninety Primarch Grade resources, so they might’ve already pre-approved him, but since he had transacted these resources and had no more, he shouldn’t be allowed inside, according to other VIPs, but clearly, they were afraid that he might do something and let him in.

They were eventually led into the VIP balconies above.

Davis entered Unit 12 of twenty-four units.

He felt like he had entered a five-star hotel since there were plenty of rooms and attendants of the highest caliber waiting. Rare wines, spirit teas, and fruits grown from expensive trees were placed on jade trays, ensuring the guests wanted for nothing.

“Men out; only two women stay.”

Davis pointed at the twelve attendants and gestured for many of them to leave.

The attendants were originally panic-stricken as they saw the Divine Emperor of Death, but once they heard his words, they bowed and politely responded before leaving at their fastest speed. It was like they had been given the highest pardon.

Shirley and the others giggled before they watched the women decide amongst themselves who to stay.

There was no unity between them since two of them left quickly, and two argued and threatened the last two to remain using soul transmissions.

It was funny for them to see the hierarchy while Davis and the others made themselves comfortable.

“You both can leave if you’re uncomfortable.”

Davis made himself comfortable on a plush couch and looked at the dark stage beyond the one-way curtain. The auction had yet to begin since there were a few minutes left. He didn’t pay any attention to the attendants.

Eventually, one of the two left.

The remaining one appeared before him and knelt by his side slowly.

“I await your commands, your eminence. Should I start serving the refreshments?”

Her voice was mellow, soft, and quivering, finally causing Davis to look at her.
