Chapter 4476: Entering The Shadow Dimension
Chapter 4476: Entering The Shadow Dimension
Hearing its answer, Schleya and the others heaved a sigh of relief. It seems like it was enough. These were actually the last two Exalt Stage Nether Devil Cores that remained after Illumina used it to break through. After all, her Emperor-Tier Bloodline that gave her extreme prowess demanded immense resources to transform.
They honestly hadn’t expected to take that much, but Illumina’s evolution demanded it. They had no other choice. Otherwise, it was unknown how long she would have to hibernate under the Nethermoon Crescent Tree, gathering a huge amount of energy in order to transform.
"Do I have to shoulder this debt?"
On their way, Vereina asked wryly.
She couldn’t believe they had transacted the last remaining Exalt Stage Nether Devil Cores for her mission. She was already grateful that they were tagging along, risking their lives, but to shoulder this kind of debt only made her uncomfortable.
How was she supposed to pursue the man she loved when she was in debt to him? It would become difficult.
"No, it’s for Natalya since she also needs that old witch’s Divine Exalt Grade Manual." Schleya answered, "She couldn’t come because of familial reasons, so she sends her regards, depending on you."
"I know." Vereina pouted, "It would be difficult to return to the Third Layer after reaching our level. At this point, only you and Nyoran can go back."
Schleya nodded. She was also aware that they could use Everlight’s regression technique to drop to Level One Empyrean Stage, but she didn’t say that as there was no need to reveal too much.
Still, if Vereina wanted to head back, Schleya felt like they could accommodate her. There were rumors that Davis and Vereina were starting to share feelings, so she didn’t want to abandon her.
"This mission depends on you, Vereina."
"Don’t worry. I’m rearing to take revenge."
Vereina giggled with a sharp gaze. Last time, she was possessed by that old witch and had her soul and physique almost shattered. Now, she was ready to return the favor as a Level Nine Empyrean.
’That sealed bitch wouldn’t be able to stand a chance against me...’ she inwardly sneered.
They were led under a crevice that reached deep before they saw the portal stacked against two big obsidian rocks. Strange black water was seeping and running over them.
"You can come and leave as you please for three times. Any more, and we’ll have to demand more resources in exchange. As for traversing in the Shadow Dimension, be careful of losing your path. The shadows will lead you to the place you desire, but it’s easy to get lost. Sometimes, your own shadows will try to take over your body, and that minute chance is enough for other beings to finish you off. You should follow the lead of the rabbit since she should be immune to most of its dangers as a Spectral Gloomveil Rabbit."
Old Lenu warned with a gentle tone.
"Many thanks, elder." Schleya and the others cupped their hands.
"Nyoran, you don’t need to come. Stay here and make sure Nadia gets home safe in case she comes out."
"Okay..." Nyoran pouted.
She wanted to go with them but knew as a Level One Empyrean Beast, she dared not venture into more dangerous zones. She still stayed at the same level in order to return. Otherwise, even as a Divergent Beast, she wouldn’t be able to return to the Third Layer.
She dared not try crossing the layer limit and putting up a portal. She didn’t want to test if there would be backlash at this point when they were still journeying.
Illumina asked Old Lenu for accommodations, causing him to nod.
"We have a place for guests near the edge of our territory, right around where we received you." Old Lenu nodded, "It isn’t great, but it isn’t bad either. Since we don’t venture out as often as the other races, any tributes are welcome. Since you have given us treasures we want, you can stay for well over for a hundred thousand years as long as you don’t enter into our territory deep. As you know, if you disturb the Nether Divine Totem with your presence, it will cause most of us to react in a hostile way."
"We understand."
Illumina nodded. She was a bit apprehensive since if this clan wanted to do something to Nyoran, they would be able to. However, Nyoran also possessed the ability to escape to the Third Layer if things get awry.
Considering the distance between the place between the portals, she would not land in their home but somewhere else, but it was still better than being crushed.
After planning a few matters, Illumina, Schleya, Vereina, and Rokushi Mirai stepped into the Shadow Dimension.
Nyoran and Yin were taken to the accommodation.
Yin accompanied Nyoran for some time before she also went back. Now, Nyoran was left alone. She remained there, doing nothing, not cultivation, since she just needed to eat and sleep, so soon enough, she got bored when, one day, a relatively little Netherblight Star-Eyed Elk peeked inside her big hut, causing her to go out to play.
Then, she made friends with a bunch of little elks.
These elks were all at Immortal Emperor Beasts or Empyrean Beasts.
Nyoran knew a Grand Ancestral Magical Beast would reach the Exalt Beast Stage upon adulthood, so these elks were actually quite young. Moreover, it was difficult for a Grand Ancestral Magical Beast to give birth, and their growth period is also longer due to the less intake of energy from the atmosphere.
Looking around, she could tell the region was barren.
There were only so many lifeforms a region could support, but if they were to go outside, they would be eaten by other lifeforms. Hence, they stayed here for safety like many other clans. She managed to make a few friends here, although the adult elks were also scary-looking, occasionally coming to check on her if she was doing something fishy or harming their little ones.
Eventually, many months passed.
There was a disturbance near the entrance as the big elks moved.
Nyoran also went to look, her gaze curious, and the other elks followed. She was shocked but could tell since she was expecting it.
"Nadia!"
