Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4459: Preparation For the Right Gate

Chapter 4459: Preparation For the Right Gate

A sense of pride enveloped Nadia when she heard the Patriarch’s speech.

Her heart blazed with a sense of belonging- no, a sense of possession- that these wolves were hers to begin with.

’Is this what being a Mythical Tier Beast feels like? That they own the entire race...?’

Nadia wondered. She felt like she could now even force Emperor-Tier Nether Springs Death Wolves to do things, and in all actuality, she had swiped the Divine Nether Totem from the Patriarch himself, who was supposed to be on the same level as her.

Closing her eyes, she took in a deep breath, feeling the weight of the entire race upon her.

It was perhaps because she acknowledged the pleas and wrath of the fallen kin that she could now feel the hopelessness and the hatred of the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan. If she didn’t have the intention to lead the clan before but just protect them for the race’s sake, then now she had full intentions to save and allow them all to flourish- starting with this clan.

"Are you alright?" Yin flew up, "Using a species technique while being connected with the Divine Nether Totem will cost you steeply."

She looked at Nadia, who stood in the air, utterly dazzling in her eyes. Her aura became more regal, as though she couldn’t be tainted, and more profound, as though she couldn’t be fathomed, but she knew Nadia was a calm and collected wolf.

"It’s fine," Nadia uttered.

"It’s not fine." Yin whimpered, "You need to rest in the Nether Springs. Come, it will increase your lifespan. It is like a divine elixir for us."

"What is your next move?" Yom also appeared beside her.

He had a complicated gaze in his eyes, part hope and part disbelief that she actually succeeded in becoming a Quasi Mythical Tier Beast. After all, Nadia had gone there to prove that she broke the curse by trying to become a Deathhowl Revenant Wolf.

Never did they expect for her to take the left gate first and become a Quasi Mythical Tier Nether Springs Death Wolf.

For her to receive the acknowledgment of the Primordial Ancestor by acknowledging and sympathizing with the fallen kin wasn’t an easy feat. Otherwise, they would’ve also passed since they had taken it but failed to receive the acknowledgment.

"Nadia, your next move is to be quiet and let us think together."

Schleya appeared in the air, her expression cold, "Otherwise, I’m telling husband that you caused chaos and confusion within the group when you left without saying much."

"Fhi~"

Nadia whimpered, her expression changing. She instantly became a tiny wolf and jumped on Schleya’s shoulder, rubbing her face and licking.

"..." Schleya’s heart couldn’t help but soften.

However, the other Nether Springs Death Wolves were dumbfounded, especially the Patriarch.

How can this soft and obedient wolf possibly steal the Nether Divine Totem’s connection from him? Did she have extreme Will, or had he gone old and senile that his soul had become weak?

He supposed his soul had become weak since he had been extending his lifespan lengthily, but there could be nearly nothing done about the soul. Their soul lifespans were extremely longer than their bodies, but then again, the Nether Divine Totem siphoned lifespan from their soul as well, but it never dropped below the body, so when their body died, their soul would also perish.

Nonetheless, he had also seen when Nadia didn’t get scared and didn’t show any hesitation when facing the Exalt Stage Nether Devil when, by all right, it should’ve invoked her beastly instincts, forcing her to flee. After all, Nadia had never faced an Exalt, so how could she remain calm in front of one?

That told him that her Will was extraordinary enough to control her beastly instincts.

Meanwhile, Illumina and the others were harvesting the Nether Devils and their cores.

As a family relying on resources from the spoils of battles, how could they not pay attention to it? They quickly scraped the lands and returned, asking the Patriarch if they could keep it, and he waved his hand, saying that they could take them all.

"Really?" Illumina’s brows widened, "Even the Exalt Grade Nether Devil Cores?"

"Yes, don’t make me repeat it again. These resources have no use for us since we’re already saturated with it, and the Nether Springs won’t absorb any more."

The Patriarch sighed, looking at the pools in the clan.

He didn’t know what was wrong with the Nether Springs even till today. It was still a mystery. It never erupted anymore, maintaining a low essence that was just enough to increase lifespan, no longer increasing their bloodline purity.

There, Yin and the other Emperor-Tier Beasts were really the last to enjoy the eruption.

"Many thanks, Nether Springs Death Wolf Patriarch."

Illumina cupped her hands and bowed.

"I’m going to rest... using the Divine Nether Totem takes its toll..."

The Patriarch sighed and jumped on Domu’s head, leaving on him. He gave one last look at Nadia, wondering if she had come out instead of entering the right gate to save him. After all, if he used his species technique, then he wouldn’t last another century.

He shot a thankful gaze before turning away, concealing the excitement that swelled in his heart.

A Quasi Mythical Tier Beast had appeared in their clan. That retold the situation that they had been experiencing so far- that their fate wasn’t going to stop in this era. They weren’t going to become extinct.

’Finally, I can also take the leap to become a Deathhowl Revenant Wolf without worrying about the children...’

He thought, intending to go to the Deathhowl Crypt soon.

However, he still needed to let Nadia go first.

"Uh, can we leave this place if we want?"

"Do as you please." The Patriarch didn’t even turn to look back at the one who asked the question.

Nadia has passed the trial in the Bloodsprings Chamber. Since he had gone through the same thing in the past, he knew she was chosen as the next leader of the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan by the collective Will of the race. If she was feeling the same as him after he underwent the trial, he felt the chances of betrayal were extremely less.

’Perhaps the entire death-attribute wolf line...’

He nodded to himself, thinking that they could go further.

Yom and the other wolves were stunned.

Could they let go of Nadia just like that?

But considering her power, no one can make her stay here. She could even steal the power of the Divine Nether Totem from the Patriarch, so leaving wouldn’t be much of a problem for her, and if they chased her, then her companions, who were Empyreans, would easily kill them as they would be out of range from the Divine Nether Totem.

There was no way around it. However, Yom didn’t even consider that anymore.

A Mythical Tier Beast could not be limited!

Schleya, Nadia, and the others returned to their quarters.

It was at the edge of the Nether Springs Death Wolf territory down the slope and within the sparsely populated woods. They couldn’t disturb the Divine Nether Totems of the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan by living there. Otherwise, it would spell doom for them all.

After coming here, they used the wood present there locally to build multiple cabins so that they don’t attract any wild lifeforms. After all, materials that were not of the Nether Dimension were going to attract hostile attention. Regardless, in one of those cabins, Nadia kept her head down, apologizing for acting on her own.

Schleya listened and eventually caved, "Fine, I’ll cover for you. But next time, you have to explain what you’re going to do, even if you’re the leader. Going to die inside a trial that we haven’t even looked at yet is a reckless thing. Back then, the wicked path powers I know trapped many people that way simply to gather cadaveric yin energy for their evil cultivation methods."

"I’m sorry~"

Nadia whimpered.

Schleya had her hands folded. She tapped her arm with her index finger for a while, letting Nadia be sorry before she nodded.

"What are the chances of succeeding in the next trial?"

"Hundred percent~" Nadia raised her head, declaring with a calm smile.

"Be realistic." Schleya glared.

"Uhmm... ninety-nine?" Nadia’s gaze darted around, appearing like she had a hard time calculating.

Schleya was speechless. She exhaled a sigh, "How can you be so sure?"

"I just know..." Nadia deflated.

She couldn’t tell how, but she had this innate feeling that the next evolution was just a walk in the park for her. She figured it was because she was a Quasi Mythical Tier Beast who could sense her bodily limits to the utmost limits. She was also aware of the existence of the bloodline curse now. She couldn’t say about it since she imagined karmic burden would fall.

Nevertheless, it was inside her soul quintessence. It was something only Empyrean existences could feel, but she could already do that. Regardless, the sensation of it made her feel prickly and limp if she dared to be conscious of the bloodline curse, so she tried not to think about it.
