Chapter 4381: The Twenty Seventh Wife
Chapter 4381: The Twenty Seventh Wife
Davis brought Yotan back home.
He convened the harem, bringing whoever was in home- although there were not many since half of them were spread out to different places.
Evelynn, Myria, Tia, Fiora, Iesha, Lea, Nadia, Ellia, Shea, Panqa, Lanqua, Everlight, Schleya, and even Mingzhi and Sophie returned from their trip to the Ghostly Crow Lower Realm.
It seems Yilla also had successfully entered the Empyrean Stage after using the Realm Core's ability. They had Calypsea travel from the Verdant Vale to the Ghostly Crow Lower Realm.
As for Yilla, the cultivation manual she used was something Davis bought from the Heavenly Blight Hall. They had more darkness-attributed cultivation manuals than he could afford. Regardless, even alone, she could defend the Ghostly Crow Lower Realm by herself.
Still, his sworn brothers Fenren and Soaren remained there.
As for Calypsea, Davis felt it would be perfect if she would just roam around the three realms he conquered. That alone would strike fear into the hearts of anyone who wanted a piece of the realm. He wasn't worried she would be up to mischief since she was taught well by Lea.
If at all Calypsea couldn't control her destructive impulses, he felt like she deserved a break for actually controlling herself all this time.
After all, she was a terrifying apocalyptic flame spirit.
If one looked at her from nature's perspective, then they were suppressing her for far too long.
Still, he wasn't going to let her rampage much, so he told Stella to keep a watch on her since they would be going to and fro together, visiting the three or more realms to instill fear.
As Davis quietly watched from the side, the atmosphere inside the great hall was festive and warm, filled with laughter, light teasing, and heartfelt smiles. The women gathered in a semicircle around Yotan, whose cheeks were tinged with bashfulness.
Davis was intrigued. Even after how he made love with Yotan, she still couldn't get rid of her shyness. Still, he felt that it was a good thing.
Yotan stood tall and proud, but her eyes occasionally flickered with hesitation. She was a soul warrior through and through, somewhat used to blood and war even while in the Soul Palace. She was one of the very few Soul Kings back then, after all. Yet the sincerity in the women's eyes left no room for doubt.
Evelynn stepped forward first, her calm, matronly aura enveloping the room. She held Yotan's hand and gave it a soft squeeze.
"Welcome home, Yotan," Evelynn said, her voice steady, "You've always fought beside us. Now, you're finally here where you belong."
Myria gave a nod, her usual aloofness softened, "You're one of us now, officially. About time."
Fiora chimed in playfully, "By far, you're the most stubborn wife Davis probably ever met."
"Ahaha~"
That drew a small laugh from everyone while Yotan lowered her head in embarrassment.
Iesha was smiling, looking like she wanted to say something, but others strode towards her.
Lea gently pulled Yotan into a warm embrace, whispering, "Don't worry, we'll show you all the rules though there aren't many. Just be yourself, and before you know it, you'll feel that you're one with all of us."
"…" Yotan wanted to say that she was aware of most rules since she had attended so many meetings with them.
She was still one of the three heads of the Battle Department, after all.
Nonetheless, she was overwhelmed that she couldn't speak and just kept nodding with a shy smile.
Even Schleya gave a subtle nod of approval while Panqa and Lanqua excitedly tugged Yotan into the group for a celebratory toast. Everlight offered her a full piece of high-quality soul-nourishing fruit from the garden while Nadia smiled knowingly as she held her children, who were standing in front of her, watching the new bond unfold.
Styx, Noctis, and Ragna were immensely curious.
This white-robed woman was supposed to be their new mother?
Still, it was strange. They already heard she was the twenty seventh mother, so how come she was invited only now?
They couldn't understand how adults moved.
Sophie and Mingzhi returned from their recent conquest full of cheer, giving Yotan a mischievous wink.
"Don't think we'd let you off easily," Mingzhi teased. "There's a busy schedule to his time and you just took four days out of it, you know?"
"Ah…" Yotan's expression trembled, looking like she was going to apologize.
"She's just kidding," Sophie said, giggling, "Well… mostly."
"I… I see…" Yotan finally managed to say some words- albeit wryly.
Ellia brought out a shimmering light-attributed flower from her life ring that she picked from the garden, "You're blooming beautifully. Like this flower, no matter how wild your roots, you're now rooted with us."
Tia, ever sweet, simply wrapped her arms around Yotan from behind and hugged her tightly, "Welcome, elder sister~ I looked forward to this day, and now you're finally one of us. I can't wait to bully the members of the Reaper Soul Legion using you."
"…"
Yotan went speechless. Has Tia ever bullied someone? She didn't think so!
Nonetheless, she also turned around and hugged Tia.
With Tia being the youngest, Yotan felt like she could open up to her about a lot of things. However, little did she know Tia was a little harmless devil who wore the mask of a young woman.
And then, finally, Davis stepped forward, his eyes warm as they met hers.
"You were already part of my heart, Yotan. Now you're part of all of us." He reached out his hand, which she took slowly, "Cement the fact that you're now my twenty-seventh wife, no different than the other wives in terms of standing and respect."
Yotan blinked, and for a brief moment, her soul warrior's heart trembled, not from battle but from a sense of belonging. She felt warmth as she was surrounded by well-wishers. She knew this family was harmonious, and she felt honored to be welcomed like this, her eyes turning moist.
She couldn't be any more satisfied. If she could be greedy, she wished that Isabella and Shirley were also here. She had respected them the most from the time she joined as the Legion Commander.
Davis brought her closer and hugged her in front of everyone, also cementing in their minds that Yotan was officially his woman.
He knew Yotan was still awkward and might not think that she was as important as the others.
Therefore, he wanted to make sure she got it right.
"Does this mean she's no longer the Legion Commander of the Reaper Soul Legion?" Mingzhi asked the main question.
The question that made everyone's smile a bit forced.
Davis let Yotan go and answered, "Well, I won't say no if she still wants to be the Legion Commander, but her assignments will no longer be at the forefront as long as she's not powerful, that's for sure. If she wants to stand at the frontlines, then she will at least have to be at the layer limit."
"But- but I am near the layer limit." Yotan protested lightly, "My cultivation base increased to Level Three Empyrean Stage. My base prowess reaches Level Ten Empyrean Stage, and with my light, I can fight Level Eleven Empyrean Stage opponents."
"No, your comprehension hasn't caught up yet, right? Your light attacks will be defeated by others at Level Eleven Empyrean Stage."
"…"
Yotan lowered her head. Her comprehension of Light Laws hadn't entered the Empyrean level yet, meaning she remained in Level Six Quiddity, which was the peak of law comprehension one could reach in the Immortal Emperor Stage.
Her Supreme Immortal Sigil was a testament to the quality of the laws she comprehended, but it wasn't the only factor. She made sure to comprehend only the highest quality of Light Laws in addition to the Law Treasure resources that supported her.
Still, she wasn't about to throw the towel. Her light attacks were strong, especially against the soul. She didn't think she would necessarily lose to genius Empyreans but indeed, when powerful opponents like Venerable Knights or even their lesser ranks and supreme geniuses were involved, she knew she would lose.
"Why are you bullying her? She's doing great for someone who didn't receive a lot of resources from us." Mingzhi supported her.
