Chapter 2050 - 2051: Brute Force Assault

  • Next Chapter

Human cultivators generally use spiritual energy for attacks. By the time they reach the Dawen Realm, they've become very adept at utilizing it.

However, such spiritual energy sometimes has no effect whatsoever when hitting the tough-skinned foreign races.

The cultivators among the foreign races follow different principles for their cultivation methods. Some reach the Dawen Realm without externalizing spiritual energy, instead focusing all on reinforcing their body's resistance to blows.

In battle, they primarily rely on brute force attacks.

Some cultivate the space element, such as the fire element, using fire for attacks.

The key is to cultivate based on the racial advantages. Some foreign races have natural strength and focus spiritual energy in their arms, wielding axes with astonishing power.

Others, due to their agility, channel all their spiritual energy into their legs, achieving extreme speed and using it to kill.

Humans are different. As their bodies are more balanced, much of their cultivation involves body cultivation, understanding the laws of all things between heaven and earth, storing energy within the body, which can be externalized during usage.

In principle, humans' cultivation method is the most balanced, avoiding extremes, though it does have relatively apparent weaknesses.

The weakness lies in facing foreign races who internalize all spiritual energy; fighting them becomes particularly strenuous.

With similar strength, human spiritual energy often can't inflict damage on those foreign races.

Ling Zhenfei has witnessed this. Previously, he encountered Iron Bull, who apparently cultivated spiritual energy in their heads, making them extremely hard, impervious to blades.

This time, the cultivators encountered foreign races even more peculiar, concentrating spiritual energy throughout their bodies, making it excessively hard, rendering human spiritual energy from similar realm cultivators ineffective.

These human cultivators seem to belong to several allied sects, having never encountered such cultivators before, thus momentarily unable to devise a strategy.

The foreign races holding giant axes stand at the front. Spiritual energy attacks form no damage, and with a single axe swing, one could be killed.

It might only take one swing to slay a cultivator. For that reason, though occasionally striking a target kills one, another foreign race swiftly fills the gap.

Dozens of cultivators are forced to retreat continuously, suffering severe losses.

Even the foreign races seem to encircle them, and once surrounded, these cultivators face certain death.

Sun Wei said, "It's not good. These foreign races are too strong and can't be killed. This is troublesome."

Ling Zhenfei replied, "It's not that they can't be killed; some have been. It's just that their weakness is difficult to find. Once found, they can be killed."

Lan Yan said, "Look over there, one has been killed."

Ling Zhenfei looked in the distance, and indeed, as Lan Yan mentioned, one foreign race lay slain, its massive body collapsing to the ground.

Ling Zhenfei asked, "Did you see how that foreign race was killed?"

Lan Yan replied, "I couldn't see clearly, only saw several people attacking the foreign race together, and suddenly a sword pierced through them, killing it."

Ling Zhenfei's position was high, providing a clear view of the whole scene and situation.

He saw the foreign races spreading out to the sides, forming an encirclement trend.

Ling Zhenfei knew there was no time to wait; if a solution couldn't be found soon, the entire team would be surrounded and utterly defeated.

Ling Zhenfei stood up and called using spiritual energy toward those below, "Friends below, come up the hill; they're surrounding you, retreat quickly."

Ling Zhenfei's voice carried strong penetration due to spiritual energy, allowing everyone to hear. Some looked toward Ling Zhenfei's direction.

Seeing Ling Zhenfei and several others standing atop the hill, they sped up, heading up the slope, thinking reinforcements had arrived.

Seeing this, Ling Zhenfei asked Sun Wei to devise a plan, then rushed down alone to meet them.

Someone yelled, "Reinforcements are here, everyone hold on."

This cry was like a dawn in the darkness, instilling confidence in everyone.

Many believed there were reinforcements on the hill, so confidence soared.

Ling Zhenfei charged forward, his Tang sword in hand, and struck at the foreign races with powerful spiritual energy, knocking one down, only for it to rise again promptly.

The foreign races angrily attacked Ling Zhenfei with their axes, wielding immense power.

Ling Zhenfei was attacked by several foreign races, who had already noticed him, hence several axes began raining down.

These foreign races stood two and a half meters tall and were robust; a heavy axe strike could flatten a man into mincemeat.

Ling Zhenfei knew these foreign races had very strong physiques; yet he had not imagined their robustness made them truly immune to spiritual energy.

He swiftly dodged, as the axes landed, raising a cloud of dust, leaving a crater where they struck.

Ling Zhenfei felt the threat, realizing just how difficult these foreign races were to handle.

The strength of these foreign races lay not in agility or technique changes but in their formidable physiques.

Ling Zhenfei's spiritual energy failed to harm them, proving their toughness.

It was akin to two people fighting, where one's strike barely affected the other, whereas the other's strikes dealt significant pain.

Ling Zhenfei wasn't one to be discouraged, so he quickly changed positions, leaping past the axes toward several people.

His Tang sword retracted, knowing it was ineffective, Ah Jiu engaged in close combat.

Ling Zhenfei decided because the opponent wielded long, heavy axes, making weapon combat disadvantageous, so opting for close combat instead.

Close combat had the advantage of negating the use of their axes.

The foreign races were tall and wielded heavy axes. After one swing, lifting the axe took time, while Ling Zhenfei was far quicker.

Ling Zhenfei rushed forward, punching one foreign race, then another foreign race.

Heaven-Splitting Ten Fists delivered three consecutive punches, striking three people.

One was sent flying by Ling Zhenfei's blow. Then another foreign race charged, its long tail sweeping toward Ling Zhenfei.

Ling Zhenfei knew of these foreign races' tails from afar, knowing they had immense power, not to be risked.

He dove just in time, avoiding the tail sweep, shooting his Sky Piercing Finger toward the foreign race.

A large gape appeared on the foreign race's body, with blood gushing forth.

The foreign race seemed enraged, wildly swinging its tail at Ling Zhenfei.
