Lan Yan said: "Maybe I'm just too disappointed with them. There were eight of us siblings, along with more than thirty others from different sects, who came here and quickly fell into an ambush.

Actually, the number of Half-beastmen attacking wasn't large, and if we had coordinated properly, we could have defeated them and broken out of the encirclement.

But instead, we each fought on our own, ended up surrounded on all sides, and suffered heavy losses. I'm so disappointed with such a team; the sect's main force was reduced to just the three of us in such a short time. What's the point of sticking with them?

There's a chance I could be killed by my own people someday, so it's better to go with you. At least you'd notice when we're in danger and come to save us. It's rare to see someone like you take on a gang of Half-beastmen single-handedly.

This shows you have a great sense of chivalry, a truly benevolent person. Following you, I think I'd be much safer, very much Ah Quan."

Ling Zhenfei was surprised at how perceptive Lan Yan's analysis was.

The two continued walking forward, and through their conversation, Ling Zhenfei learned that they belonged to a sect called Qingyun Ridge, which seemed to be named after a geographic location, similar to Wuliang Mountain.

This time, there were eight senior brothers and sisters who came, which, in terms of strength, is considerable, having eight people at the Dawen Realm is not typical for most sects. But their practical combat experience was rather lacking.

They were ambushed by a group of Half-beastmen and tragically five had died, leaving only the three of them remaining.

Ling Zhenfei had also realized that Foreign Land Space is similar to their side; strength in the Dawen Realm is already the main force here, the strongest he's seen being Magic Power Lei, a Half-beastman noble, whose strength was only at Dawen Peak, even weaker than Ling Zhenfei.

Earlier, the Foreign Land Space held the advantage of terrain, setting up ambushes at spots where cultivators frequently teleported over, attacking as soon as they arrived.

In such attacks, if the cultivators lack strength, panic usually ensues, causing them not to fully utilize their power and sometimes not thinking clearly.

This leads to greater losses.

Ling Zhenfei, taking Lan Yan with him, proceeded cautiously to ensure safety, so they moved slowly.

Only after Ling Zhenfei used the power of the soul to search and ensure safety would they continue.

Ling Zhenfei had fallen for such tricks before, once when attacked by the Green Python; because of haste and lack of direction, he got attacked by the Green Python. If not for leading them to the Half-beastmen's force, it wouldn't have been easy to escape.

So now Ling Zhenfei was extremely cautious to avoid falling into combat again.

Ling Zhenfei checked his Wu Wang Dao Talisman getting closer to the edge of the gorge.

Ling Zhenfei knew that no matter how arrogant those sects were, they certainly wouldn't transport their teams directly into the gorge, only around its surroundings at most.

The vicinity of the gorge definitely involved some combat.

At this moment, Ling Zhenfei suddenly halted, Lan Yan stopped too and asked; "What's wrong, Mr. Ling?"

Ling Zhenfei said: "There are traces of Northern Spiritual Energy ahead, which means a battle occurred here. Let's proceed cautiously and check it out."

The two restrained their aura and moved forward, soon discovering signs left after a battle.

What shocked Ling Zhenfei most was the corpses left at the site.

There were more than twenty human cultivator corpses, along with dozens of small-stature humanoid creatures, all lying on the ground, yet no one was around, the battle was over.

Seeing the dead, Lan Yan turned her head away. Evidently, she wasn't accustomed to such scenes yet.

Even Ling Zhenfei, seasoned as he was, found the sight of dozens of dead somewhat shocking.

Those human cultivators were all Dawen Realm experts, figures who could stir winds and clouds over there, yet they'd tragically died here, quite unexpected indeed.

Life is unpredictable; he who kills will also be killed.

Looking at the corpses of dwarves, the death toll seemed even higher; it was clear the battle here was intense, with possibly more human cultivators involved.

The location is at the gorge's perimeter, drawing many cultivators to appear here.

Lan Yan said: "Senior Brother Ling, we should leave here, it's too dangerous."

Ling Zhenfei nodded: "Let's go."

Ling Zhenfei led Lan Yan through the swarm of bodies and continued forward.

After passing through the battlefield, Lan Yan felt somewhat relieved.

Lan Yan said: "Most of those people were Loose Cultivators."

Ling Zhenfei paused and asked: "How do you know those people were Loose Cultivators?"

Lan Yan replied: "Look at the clothes they wore; they were all different, unlike those from a Major Sect, which usually have uniform attire."

Ling Zhenfei then realized that, indeed, those people dressed very differently from Lan Yan, confirming they were Loose Cultivators.

Ling Zhenfei commented: "Originally, if Major sects had appeared due to experience and coordination, such massive losses wouldn't have happened.

It was all because of that old man, inciting Loose Cultivators to enter first, resulting in premature entry without preparation, causing many fatalities."

Lan Yan said: "Yes, my senior brother had mentioned this old man harbors malicious intents, so we refrained from appearing around the gorge, yet had a similar encounter nevertheless."

Ling Zhenfei said: "This indicates Foreign Land Space must have prepared beforehand; the place where I appeared had similar conditions, more secluded yet with Beastmen still guarding."

As they were walking, they suddenly heard the sound of Spiritual Energy exploding up ahead.

Ling Zhenfei said: "There's combat ahead, let's hurry over but be cautious, under uncertain conditions, do not expose ourselves."

Lan Yan replied: "Got it."

The two restrained their aura and moved towards the distant direction.

The area had just sent off a Northern Spiritual Energy vibration, indicating a battle was underway.

When the two arrived, they found an ongoing combat.

A battle was taking place here, with one side being human cultivators, seemingly an alliance from several Major Sects; the other side was a group of humanoid creatures with long tails.

The numbers on both sides were about equal, but the humanoid creatures clearly had the advantage in height and weight; the intense combat saw no side gaining advantage amidst the Spiritual Energy clashing.

Ling Zhenfei, upon approaching, realized that these people were from Mount Bu Zhou.

Ling Zhenfei recognized several people among them, including Ji Tianlang and Duan Xianren from Mount Bu Zhou.

In various Major Sects, Ji Tianlang is ranked among the Four Young Masters, indicating considerable underlying strength.

With strong backing, there naturally are those who flatter you, and as praise mounts, Ji Tianlang being ranked among the Four Young Masters becomes quite normal.
