Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2751 - 2752: A Special Restaurant
"Strange, how can there still be a private kitchen open at this kind of place and time?"
Having no other good options to go to, Feng Yuan and his group decided to follow Qiu Hanmo to see what kind of place he recommended, only to unexpectedly discover a shop that shouldn’t normally be open.
No, to be precise, it should be that it’s unlikely for any private kitchen to be operating at this time, a place like Jufu Tower with not just numerous staff can’t easily cease operations for its own reputation.
A private kitchen...without mentioning anything else, with the previous situation, would anyone come to eat?
Looking at this private kitchen in front of them, it seems that the owner continued to run it even during the war, does the owner need money that desperately?
"Lu Ge’s Private Kitchen? The name is simple enough, but..."
Veronia examined the layout at the entrance with a peculiar expression, something Qi Chen and the others might not recognize, but how could it not? Such an arrangement could only be done by the shop owner himself; she couldn’t believe a renovation company in Maomu City would have exaggerated enough to find a professional commander to be a designer.
"Weird, why do I feel like this setup here...if someone wanted to assassinate or do something, it would be very difficult?"
Scratching his chin, Feng Yuan said, confused, without waiting for Veronia’s response, a somewhat deep voice sounded
"Those are not the words of an ordinary person, what exactly do you intend to do?"
A middle-aged man with a friendly appearance spoke with a gloomy tone, staring at Feng Yuan, seeming as though he might take action if he didn’t answer well.
"Hmm, just as I guessed, wouldn’t this be a place where you commanders gather? No wonder you’d choose such a strange location."
Veronia chuckled softly, unaffected by the intimidation, or rather, not worried at all about what the man might do; setting aside that they wouldn’t do something harming Maomu City, even if they intended to, can he truly stop them?
"I don’t believe ordinary people could recognize my methods, let alone with your age..."
Slightly squinting his eyes, he turned to look at Qiu Hanmo, since he’s the one who brought them here, what does he intend to do?
With a smile, Qiu Hanmo laughed saying
"It’s a misunderstanding, just a misunderstanding, this is Feng Yuan, as for them..."
"I see, you are here to eat? Come on in."
Without needing Qiu Hanmo to explain, just hearing Feng Yuan’s name, he understood, how could he not know of Feng Yuan’s mysterious reputation spread in Maomu City.
If it’s him, recognizing his setup isn’t strange at all, as for that talking Spirit Beast? It’s probably one of the three Divine Beasts following Feng Yuan around.
However...being able to recognize this means...
Divine Beasts being knowledgeable in strategy isn’t surprising, given their long life, learning anything is normal, but...
Discreetly observing Veronia without showing any special action, Qiu Hanmo has a vague sense, but he didn’t say anything.
It’s not out of any malicious intent, just unnecessary.
Led by the owner, everyone walked into a warmly decorated private room, outside the window instead of the imagined old residential house was a small garden and a shallow flowing artificial canal.
"Oh? That seems like Duwan Small Park? Didn’t expect it to be so close."
Qi Chen instantly recognized that park, given the area, only Duwan Small Park matches the environment before them.
Though Qi Chen had never seen Duwan Small Park from this angle before.
Duwan Small Park is located at the edge of Maomu City; the area originally was Duwan Village and joined Maomu City during the city’s expansion.
What is most unique is the artificial canal or river, diverting water from Mao Mu River into Duwan Village and back, built by locals during the Dynasty period for ease of accessing water.
The entire Maomu City district only Duwan Village has this artificial river.
Of course, it’s notable in the city because it’s rare, whereas in towns similar setups are quite common, hence no one pays much attention to it.
"This is truly a great place for surveillance."
Dou Yanlan glanced at the shop owner with a cold tone, though she didn’t believe Qiu Hanmo would do anything detrimental to Maomu City, she thought he might ignore rules for a certain purpose potentially causing trouble for some.
"You could think that, here’s the menu."
The shop owner didn’t deny, since this was plainly visible, though it’s also why he seldom entertained strangers.
Chuckling softly, Feng Yuan addressed Dou Yanlan sharply glaring at Qiu Hanmo
"Don’t mind these details, it doesn’t affect us anyway, he can’t be a bad guy, otherwise...the Special Duty Team isn’t foolish."
Feng Yuan wasn’t trusting Qiu Hanmo, yet the uniquely distinctive entrance of this shop had him confident that if the owner had issues, the Special Duty Team would’ve caught him long ago.
"That cannot happen, if he truly had issues...someone would have known earlier."
Smiling mysteriously, Qiu Hanmo didn’t tell explicitly, Dou Yanlan contemplating looked at Qiu Hanmo saying
"Your kindred?"
Smiling gently, Qiu Hanmo said
"You could say that, after all, we aren’t generally well-liked."
"Han Mo..."
Yang Hongzhi paused, wanting to say how impossible it was not to notice, not just him, other members of the Red Fire Team also were somewhat wary of Qiu Hanmo, as he often created what he saw as unnecessary trouble in his planning.
Though outcomes were often favorable in the end, yet...
"I’m not upset about this, from the moment of choosing this path, I’ve been psychologically prepared, you ought to know."
Qiu Hanmo gently shook his head telling Yang Hongzhi, then turned towards Dou Yanlan, recognizing her intelligence so naturally comprehending she once endeavored in this direction.
"Understanding doesn’t mean acceptance, especially not...when it might threaten those we protect."
Dou Yanlan voiced calmly, seeing no need for beating around the bush, Qi Chen beside them thought they were quarreling and raised his hand unsure of how to mediate.
The owner stood silently aside, appearing as though the quarrel had nothing to do with him.
Feng Yuan having noticed couldn’t help but smooth things over saying
"Alright, alright, just learn to understand each other, even if there’s no understanding, it doesn’t matter. Overall, I trust they won’t easily become adversarial, that’s it."
"Other details, don’t sweat the small stuff, let’s check out what to eat."
Speaking as Feng Yuan opened the menu, intent on deciding what to pick rather than rely on the owner’s recommendations, aware of those folks, if asked for a recommendation, unknown might contain subtle testing, better to decide personally.
Though testing might still occur, it didn’t trouble against personal interests, so he didn’t care much.
"Whoa? So diverse?"
Having looked through the menu, Feng Yuan raised his head, somewhat surprised, looking towards the owner of this commander category, yet having culinary skills so refined?
"The chef can be trusted, their skill is unquestionable."
The shop owner responded blandly, Feng Yuan paused, realizing the cooking chef wasn’t him, though...considering his identity, Feng Yuan couldn’t help some dark thoughts.
Shaking away these thoughts, Feng Yuan began to seriously look at the menu.
On the table, there wasn’t just one menu, hence Qi Chen and the others each took a copy to see what they might eat, naturally, save for Qiu Hanmo.
Given being a regular here, he was thoroughly familiar with this menu.
Soon everyone ordered what they wished to eat, watching the owner depart, Dou Yanlan surprisingly initiated conversation with Qiu Hanmo asking
"You come here often, is it to dine with kindred? Why do you have such...preferences?"
Glancing at Dou Yanlan, Qiu Hanmo smiled, shaking his head
"Just exchanging intel, nothing dire, everyone has limited things they can know, only thorough intelligence avoids erroneous information disrupting proper decisions."
"I see, I..."
Dou Yanlan seemed to want to say something, yet in the end didn’t speak up, Qiu Hanmo naturally recognized Dou Yanlan had disruptions related to him.
Though he wouldn’t proactively question her, trusting she wouldn’t conceal critical intel, as for other matters? It didn’t concern him.
"Unsure of what he’s observing here, thinking of which, nothing mythical should be in Duwan Village."
Looking out the window, Feng Yuan puzzled, remarked, this private room’s layout evidently designed to conveniently survey outside scenery or rather Du Wan Small Park’s specific features.
Yet for no apparent reason, what is there to watch in Du Wan Small Park?
