Chapter 2726 - 2727: Preparations for Ascension

Feng Yuan previously planned for the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound to engage in close combat to resolve the battle, so the means he left on the opponent were primarily for this purpose. He didn’t expect that the Ultimate Move such as Burning Eight Desolates would have this bizarre effect in the attribute alteration.

Due to this unexpected situation, the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound did not engage in close combat but solely relied on Burning Eight Desolates to forcibly take down the Meteorite Creature.

There’s no choice, rule-breaking power, that stuff is troublesome. Total attribute sealing didn’t work because it mastered the power of the Forbidden Attribute, so it couldn’t employ some strong defensive measures, otherwise it wouldn’t be a test but a mental game.

When the rule-abiding meets the rule-breaking, the rule-breaking naturally gains the upper hand, especially when the rule-breaking guy is stronger than the rule-makers.

The world’s rules not noticing the problem is impossible. Are you kidding me? How could the world itself not know about the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound’s situation? Not even to mention the messy attribute changes, the disappearance of the side effects of the Ultimate Move is not a normal situation.

If it were a legitimate attribute change, its side effects would correctly act on the attributes of the user. However, Feng Yuan’s means were not legitimate; they were forces that forcibly reversed even concepts, which resulted in the side effects acting under normal rules on something that doesn’t exist.

This is also why side effects never appeared. The Fluffy Fire Wolfhound only has the Fire Attribute; therefore, unless the attribute change wasn’t triggered, the element depletion brought by side effects couldn’t take effect on the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound.

Xiao Ji was somewhat envious of the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound’s rampant style. Looking at Feng Yuan, Xiao Ji called out in a sweet, overly sugary voice, while Veronia glanced at Feng Yuan saying,

"Now Xiao Ji wants to play like this too, what do you plan to do?"

"Of course not, the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound was an accident, this method causes rules to descend into chaos, albeit the duration isn’t long, but this relates to the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound’s strength."

Lightly patting Xiao Ji’s head, Feng Yuan said helplessly, thinking that such reckless conduct is entirely risk-free. It’s solely because the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound wasn’t strong, thus the rule distortion aberrations weren’t obvious, and quickly recover after interference stops, otherwise, all sorts of abnormal phenomena would have certainly occurred.

Switch to Xiao Ji? Being a Divine Beast, even a juvenile Divine Beast’s degree of perturbance to rules isn’t something the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound can mess with.

Knowing it’s its own status restricting itself, Xiao Ji hung its head with a bit of disappointment. Of course, if it truly had to choose, it wouldn’t regret the initial decision, after all, what the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound managed just seemed fun to it.

The continuous powerful attacks were a massive blow to the Meteorite Creature. Before the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound cycled through all its attributes, the Meteorite Creature couldn’t withstand the immense damage and shattered to reveal a vermilion Treasure Bead.

"Creating the corresponding Ascension Stone based on attributes? It doesn’t matter, anyway, after this, I guess there won’t be any opportunities to touch this thing."

Gazing at the vermilion Treasure Bead, Feng Yuan smiled and said, having obtained the Ascension Stone for the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound, the task at the Challenge Point ended successfully～

What remains is finding a place for Xiao Ji and the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound to use the Ascension Stone.

Similar to Feng Yuan, those Beastmasters who obtained the Ascension Stone didn’t plan on using it near the Challenge Point. Of course, this also relates to their status as Independents; the official teams didn’t have this idea.

Needless to say, they couldn’t act privately at this time; the worries of Independents didn’t apply to them. The reason those Independents didn’t use the Ascension Stone near the Challenge Point was purely because they feared interference causing accidents.

As for the official team members, not only did they have teammates protecting them, but the others wouldn’t bother provoking the official teams without reasons.

Feng Yuan, of course, wasn’t afraid of interference, but he didn’t plan to linger here. Now he simply didn’t want to let Xiao Ji use the Ascension Stone in this bustling place.

After all, it’s a relatively important item for Xiao Ji, Xiao Ji’s Ascension Stone is a hundred years, and the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound’s is seventy-five years; Feng Yuan doesn’t know how much their strength will grow after using it, but surely, it’ll trigger evolution.

Lazy to trouble the people of Cha Mu Town, Feng Yuan knew that right now, every place was busy just arranging official teams, their heads must be spinning. He didn’t want to add to their chaos at this moment.

Casually finding an uninhabited area, Feng Yuan decided to camp here, letting Xiao Ji prepare to use the Ascension Stone.

"Evolving under the setting sun is quite an experience, but there’s one thing I must warn you about. Unlike the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound, your situation is very special; using the Ascension Stone, I don’t know what will happen."

While preparing dinner, Feng Yuan spoke to Xiao Ji, particularly emphasizing when talking about the special situation, Feng Yuan’s eyes were fixed on Xiao Ji.

There’s no other way, the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound has a complete evolution route. The Ascension Stone not only simply improves the strength but also includes a hypothetical future, which projects the current situation to fast-forward into the corresponding state years later.

Should evolution occur during this period, the Ascension Stone will ignore all conditions and materials needed for this evolution stage and directly evolve the Spirit Beast using the Ascension Stone to its corresponding form.

This poses no problem for the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound, as its own evolution route has a fixed form at each stage. Unless the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound doesn’t want to evolve, no accidents will appear in its evolution form.

Xiao Ji is different, its evolution is exploring an entirely new form. Even Feng Yuan doesn’t know what form Xiao Ji will take, nor could he confidently say Xiao Ji might need to decide its evolved form while using the Ascension Stone.

Calling out to Feng Yuan, Xiao Ji had clearly thought about this matter, and Veronia giggled, saying,

"You’re preparing food now, what if it doesn’t match their tastes after evolution?"

"The Fluffy Fire Wolfhound won’t change much, only Xiao Ji has a bit of an issue, but I didn’t make much anyway, well, just have a bit to fill the stomach, and after evolving, we can prep dinner properly."

With a sidelong glance at Veronia, Feng Yuan said in slight exasperation. Although it was still early, Feng Yuan didn’t know if the process after using the Ascension Stone would end immediately.

If it took a long time, it seemed wiser to let Xiao Ji have some food first.

Quickly finishing the small portion of food Feng Yuan prepared, Xiao Ji and the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound looked at each other nervously, preparing to use the Ascension Stone.

Under the beautiful setting sun, Feng Yuan took out a camera planning to document this evolution, as the Ascension Stone was used, the light of evolution enveloped Xiao Ji and the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound.

As Feng Yuan feared, this evolution didn’t end swiftly. It even far exceeded the normal evolution time, with the light constantly changing, Xiao Ji and the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound’s strength rapidly increased from Good Level to Elite Level and quickly touched Rare Level strength.

"The Ascension Stone, for many Spirit Beasts, is indeed a miracle, isn’t it? Such a rapid increase in strength, yet without side effects."

Veronia sensed the momentum still rising and commented, while Feng Yuan glanced at Veronia and said crossly,

"For the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound, perhaps it’s not a side effect, but for Xiao Ji, childhood was just leaped over like this."

"But it’s willing itself, isn’t it? By comparison, what do you intend to do with Big Cat and the others? This time, it was limited to Beast Tamers, they didn’t qualify."

Responding to Feng Yuan’s words, Veronia remarked that Feng Yuan was overthinking unnecessarily; the eagle itself didn’t have any objections, so why should Feng Yuan bother?

"For Big Cat and the others... once Xiao Ji and the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound are finished, I’ll see if I can bypass the restriction rules. Though they’re not Beast Tamers, for them, the Ascension Stone is only a benefit."

Feng Yuan spoke hesitantly. To him, Big Cat and the others were also companions; naturally, he wouldn’t forget them if there was a benefit. Not to mention, compared to Xiao Ji and the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound, Big Cat and Kong Qing using the Ascension Stone truly had no side effects.

Because all they need is strength, as for skipping growth stages? This didn’t make a bit of difference to them.

"Messing with the rules again, aren’t you afraid of stirring up some trouble?"

Though she knew Feng Yuan would say that, Veronia couldn’t help but remark, the rules involved when the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound was involved weren’t many; getting Big Cat and the others to ignore rule restrictions to challenge would involve many more rules.

Nonetheless, Veronia couldn’t figure out why this challenge was limited to Beast Tamers only this time.
