Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2709 - 2710: Youth Edition?
Feng Yuan could hardly believe that the ultimate move attached to this special Spirit Beast Decoration was actually a knock-off master, but, as he tested the final form, he had to admit that the auxiliary mode might really be a youth version of the Life Blessing of the Life Divine Beast.
"Is this interference? Tsk... If it weren’t for the fact that I made this myself, I’d suspect the creator had some twisted sense of humor."
Looking at the old gate continuously releasing Black Mist, Feng Yuan said, speechless. The test of the auxiliary mode quickly ended; its amplification effect merely doubled the non-Divine Beasts’ attributes at most.
Moreover, it shared the amplification limit with other states, meaning that if other states had already doubled the attributes, the corresponding amplification in the auxiliary mode would have no effect.
Feng Yuan could only say that this thing truly deserved to be called the youth version, so inferior it was. As for the interference mode, Veronia stood within the Black Mist without any impact, while the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound expressed that it could feel its attributes being weakened, similarly to the auxiliary mode, in multiple layers.
If it were just that, it wouldn’t be a big deal, as reducing all attributes can be a decent debuff. It’s just that the form of expression for this ultimate move...
Don’t think that changing it into a gate would stop Feng Yuan from recognizing it as Long Boduo’s Netherworld Guide. Although the Gate of Netherworld also opens a door leading to the Netherworld, there’s a notable difference between the two.
The Gate of Netherworld is closer to the Space Gate, leading directly to the Netherworld Land; however, Long Boduo’s Netherworld Guide is different. As its exclusive Divine Beast Technique, Netherworld Guide generates a road that turns illusion into reality, connecting the current location to a designated Netherworld spot by Long Boduo.
In terms of space, because the road belongs partly to Subspace, it’s actually much larger, but this isn’t a flaw.
Methods such as spatial erasure can only clear a limited spatial area. Due to the large space occupied by Netherworld Guide, spatial erasure can’t clear it all at once unless performed by a Divine Beast.
Netherworld Guide, as an Ultimate Move, has self-repair abilities, and being unable to clear it all at once will inevitably lead to the awkward situation where it regenerates infinitely. Furthermore, because the self-repair uses the power of the Netherworld, consuming the surrounding environment’s energy or Long Boduo’s energy is impossible.
This thing doesn’t have a self-repairing ability and doesn’t connect to the Netherworld either. On space, it extends into the Subspace like Netherworld Guide.
As for the released Black Mist, the original Netherworld Guide creates Netherworld fog at the current location, making the environment viewable as Netherworld Land. This thing clearly doesn’t possess this effect, as it doesn’t connect to the Netherworld after all.
Feng Yuan didn’t believe this thing could have any semblance of the Netherworld Guide prototype. Just joking; that’s a Divine Beast Technique brought by Authority, which no other Divine Beasts can use except Long Boduo, not even the Time Divine Beast.
Agunas and others can use Time Projection to project partial Divine Beast Techniques, but Netherworld Guide isn’t among them.
The reason is simple: this thing connects two spaces and is Long Boduo’s exclusive Authority. Unlike Gate of Netherworld that connects the real world and Netherworld, Netherworld Guide can be used directly within the Netherworld.
As long as the current position and target location aren’t in the same Domain.
Compared to common offensive Divine Beast Techniques, special uses like Netherworld Guide are more valuable; of course, its value lies in its special functions.
Netherworld Guide can ignore most of the Main World’s spatial restrictions to open a channel, as long as the endpoint is any location in the Netherworld. Though it has flaws, it’s already very strong. At least Gitalien can’t stop Long Boduo from escaping using this Divine Beast Technique.
In Feng Yuan’s view, the youth version of Netherworld Guide produced by the special Spirit Beast Decoration, despite the appearance, has nothing else, not even worthy to be called the youth version of Netherworld Guide.
Most importantly, the ability to surpass space mobility limits is absent, and other effects, in Feng Yuan’s view, are just for show; it merely has a similar appearance.
"Debuff state, truly no surprises."
Veronia agreed with Feng Yuan’s sentiment; its appearance resembles Netherworld Guide, but its genuine effectiveness bears no relation, thus seeming like a product of twisted humor.
As for whether it’s Feng Yuan’s fault? This time, it’s not because it trusts Feng Yuan, but rather he’d never mess around with gifts for Xiao Ji. Its occurrence simply means the special Spirit Beast Decoration itself is so... unique.
Having tried everything, Xiao Ji wasn’t disappointed either; although the attached ultimate move was dispensable, it was a thoughtful gift from Feng Yuan. For Xiao Ji, it was its most valued aspect.
"Alright, let’s end the testing here. Although it’s not very satisfying, it’s still alright."
With a chuckle, Feng Yuan waved to Xiao Ji, calling it over. Having tested the special ultimate move, Feng Yuan didn’t bother thinking further about this thing’s practical use.
There’s nothing to be done; this ultimate move is too weak for Xiao Ji, offering no real combat value, barely able to frighten others with its appearance.
At least, that’s how Feng Yuan felt. When it comes to destructive power, it can’t compare to Crimson Judgement; while Attribute Transformation seems impressive, it’s useless for Xiao Ji.
Maxing out attacks, what can extreme resistance towards the attributes do? Not to mention special Divine Beast Techniques like Crimson Judgement inherently have some penetrating resistance capability.
Support needs no further discussion; Xiao Ji itself has support ultimate moves providing greater enhancement, even if they only apply to itself, they’re sufficient.
Interference... Xiao Ji can’t use it, and it’s not as if Xiao Ji lacks control ultimate moves, yet while traveling with Feng Yuan, encountered enemies either having no effect due to great power difference or no need for control ultimate moves, simply using offensive ultimate moves to down them.
Defense needs no further mention; ordinarily, Xiao Ji doesn’t have a need, but when required, Qi Realm Stance Defense is evidently superior, offering not only greater defensive capability but also accompanied by counterstrike mechanisms.
Thinking of this, Feng Yuan touched his chin, saying
"Could it be that all of the Qi Realm Timeline’s power is concentrated in Qi Realm?"
"Isn’t that a matter of course? They have no active offensive capability."
Glancing at Feng Yuan, Veronia didn’t quite understand why he would say something foolish like that. The Qi Realm Timeline’s power is naturally concentrated in Qi Realm, even causing humans there to be unable to fight across timelines.
Veronia overlooked that the War Timeline has cross-timeline combat capability due to the Imperial Timeline sharing technology, which left people with an initial impression that the War Timeline also possesses timeline jumping capability, completely ignoring that this technology wasn’t self-developed.
Though the War Timeline might independently research related technology, the time required would be uncertain.
"Hmm, the ultimate move of the special Spirit Beast Decoration in comparison to Qi Realm Stance, even the basic Attack Stance seems stronger than this thing, with high production difficulty yet poor effect, truly it is."
With a helpless smile, Feng Yuan said that he held some initial expectation for the special Spirit Beast Decoration, but now he thought better of it—it’s just a toy after all.
"Not necessarily."
Just as Feng Yuan tapped Xiao Ji’s head, ready to head back to Li Mountain Village, Tamur suddenly spoke. Puzzled, Feng Yuan looked at Tamur, asking
"What have you discovered now?"
"A correct usage method."
Tamur cast a peculiar glance at Feng Yuan, waved Little Claw, and a light fell upon Xiao Ji. Xiao Ji gazed at Tamur, bewildered, not quite understanding what Tamur had done.
"What is this?"
Feng Yuan wasn’t clear about what Tamur had done. That light fell upon Xiao Ji seemingly without causing any change, yet Feng Yuan knew Tamur wouldn’t do something pointless.
"Permission."
"Permission?"
"Could it be..."
Furrowing his brow, Feng Yuan realized something, looking at Xiao Ji, he said
"Wait, don’t rush off yet. Try that special ultimate move again. By the way, does it require Divine Beast’s Power to activate?"
Although Feng Yuan didn’t notice any instruction mentioning permission necessity, with Tamur’s words, Feng Yuan reckoned Divine Beast’s authorization might be a crucial step.
