Chapter 648 - 648: The Second Spot

Seeing the referee retreat, Zhou Yongyang's smile widened. "Chu Qingyun, the Core Disciple spot is mine, and you... you're just going to die!"

Chu Qingyun replied, "The outcome has yet to be decided."

After he spoke, immense Thunder Power suddenly erupted around him. Streaks of brilliant lightning rose continuously, rapidly converging above his head.

A Sea of Thunder and Lightning, over ten meters in diameter, quickly formed and rapidly expanded outward.

A furious and piercing aura pulsed from within the Sea of Thunder and Lightning. It even stirred the nearby Heaven and Earth Primordial Power, which began to contend with the Primordial Power Zhou Yongyang had gathered.

"That's... Sword Intent!"

"True Sword Intent!"

The referee on the platform, the disciples on the Observation Platform, the Elders in the tower, and even the Sect Leader and the two Supreme Elders were all utterly shocked.

None of them had expected that even at this stage of the fight, Chu Qingyun still had such a trump card!

A satisfied smile appeared on Ling Yuan's face, and he couldn't help but nod.

In just three or four days, he had taken that final step and cultivated true Sword Intent. Even with the aid of the Saint Extreme Tower's seventh floor, such talent was astonishing.

On the battle platform, however, the expression on Zhou Yongyang's face changed in an instant.

"Hmph, Chu Qingyun, even if you've mastered Sword Intent, you are no match for me! The Martial Spirit Realm can never defeat the Martial King Realm!"

Zhou Yongyang's eyes turned cold. He cast aside the last of his disdain and began to gather Heaven and Earth Primordial Power with all his might.

"Then let's wait and see," Chu Qingyun said, also focusing all his power to unleash his Thunder Sword Intent.

Above them, both the Primordial Power and the thunder grew more and more concentrated. The two terrifying auras had already begun to clash faintly before either of them had even made a move.

Which was stronger: the Primordial Power of a Martial King, or the raw ferocity of true Thunder Sword Intent?

All eyes were fixed upon the battle platform.

Soon, Zhou Yongyang's Primordial Power had gathered into a mass nearly one hundred meters in diameter. This was the absolute limit of the Primordial Power he could control.

At the same time, a Sea of Thunder and Lightning one hundred meters in diameter also formed above Chu Qingyun.

"Chu Qingyun, since you live by the sword, you'll die by the sword!"

As he spoke, Zhou Yongyang raised his arm. The terrifying mass of Primordial Power above began to roil and churn, coalescing into a giant sword over a hundred meters long, its tip aimed straight at Chu Qingyun.

This, too, was an Elemental Power Giant Sword, but its pulsating aura was far more formidable than that of Chu Qingyun's Celestial Sword Technique.

One was condensed from a massive amount of Heaven and Earth Primordial Power, while the other was formed merely from the Primordial Power within Chu Qingyun's Qi Sea.

Once the giant sword formed, Zhou Yongyang swung his arm. The massive blade descended diagonally with world-ending momentum, slashing straight for Chu Qingyun.

"Thunder Sword Intent!"

Chu Qingyun let out a cold cry, raising his Thunder Shock Sword high. His Sword Intent merged with it. From the Sea of Thunder and Lightning above, a bolt of lightning instantly shot down, coalescing into a dazzlingly bright giant Thunder Sword that rose to meet Zhou Yongyang's Elemental Power Giant Sword.

BOOM!

The two giant swords met in midair, immediately beginning a violent collision.

Primordial Power crumbled as lightning tore through the air.

The Primordial Power, imbued with the might of the Martial King Realm, and the thunder, infused with Sword Dao Power, began a fierce cycle of consumption and annihilation. In an instant, the center of the battle platform was almost completely submerged in Primordial Power and lightning.

The moment the two swords collided, both Chu Qingyun and Zhou Yongyang felt a tremendous backlash surge through their bodies.

After the Primordial Power and thunder battled and annihilated each other for a while, they began to slowly dissipate.

At this point, everyone could gradually make out the scene on the platform. It seemed one figure was standing, while another was lying on the ground.

"The one standing... it's Chu Qingyun! Heavens, am I seeing things? Chu Qingyun actually knocked down Zhou Yongyang, a first-level Martial King!"

A sharp-eyed disciple couldn't help but cry out in shock.

"Is the true Intention Realm really that powerful? It can actually cross a whole Grand Realm to rival the Primordial Power and might of the Martial King Realm!?"

"It's not that simple. Zhou Yongyang did force his breakthrough, after all. His Primordial Pill isn't perfect, which must have had a huge impact on his strength. Otherwise, if that Elemental Sword had been just thirty percent stronger, it definitely would have crushed the Thunder Sword."

"The Elemental Sword and the Thunder Sword seemed evenly matched, but there was a huge difference in their bodies' ability to withstand the strain. Chu Qingyun must have cultivated some incredible Secret Technique. As for Zhou Yongyang, he just broke through to the Martial King Realm and had no time to temper his body with Primordial Power."

On the Observation Platform, many Inner Sect Disciples and Core Disciples were using their own knowledge to analyze the battle that had just occurred.

Without a doubt, Chu Qingyun's defeat of Zhou Yongyang had been an eye-opening experience for all of them, showing them once again the power of the Intention Realm!

"Haha, Thunder Sword Intent! Our Saint Extreme Sect has produced another Unparalleled Genius who comprehended Sword Intent while still in the Martial Spirit Realm!" one of the Supreme Elders couldn't help but laugh heartily.

But at that moment, the Sect Leader beside him gave a light cough.

The Supreme Elder immediately realized his slip of the tongue and stopped smiling.

The Sect Leader, the two Supreme Elders, and Zhou Qian all looked toward Ling Yuan at almost the same time.

Ling Yuan shook his head and said, "Elder Yuan, please don't mind it. I have long since accepted my situation. Besides, Chu Qingyun just happened to reach the ninth floor of the Saint Extreme Tower, which is why I gave him some guidance on Sword Intent."

"However, Sect Leader, Supreme Elders, it would be best if we do not interfere too much with Chu Qingyun's Sword Dao."

Although Ling Yuan said not to mind, a hint of sorrow still lingered in his eyes.

"Mm, that's right. This time, we can't give him blind guidance again. It's best to let him comprehend his own Sword Dao."

"We just need to provide the cultivation resources. The path is his to walk alone."

The Sect Leader and the two elders all nodded in agreement.

"In that case, I will take my leave."

After speaking, Ling Yuan turned to leave. His figure flickered, leaving only an afterimage in the distant sky before vanishing completely.

"Sigh, such an Unparalleled Genius. Who would have thought he would get stuck on the hurdle of Sword Intent?"

The Supreme Elder known as Elder Yuan watched the direction Ling Yuan had departed and couldn't help but sigh with emotion.

"I regret it so much. Back then, the sect was overcome with joy. We placed too many hopes on him, forced too much upon him, and in the end, we led him astray..." the other Supreme Elder lamented as well.

After one direct clash, Zhou Yongyang was lying on the ground, groaning and unable to get up, while Chu Qingyun was still standing.

The victor was self-evident.

"Outer Disciple Chu Qingyun is the victor, claiming the second Core Disciple spot!"

The referee announced without hesitation, declaring Chu Qingyun's victory and his claim to the Core Disciple spot.

Hearing those words, Zhou Yongyang's vision went black. He spat out another mouthful of blood and passed out completely.

He had forced his breakthrough to the Martial King Realm and damaged his Primordial Pill, but in the end, he still failed to get the Core Disciple spot.

It was all over.
