Chapter 628 - 628: Fundamental Difference

"Thunder Sword Intent!"

Inside a training room on the seventh floor of the Saint Extreme Tower.

Chu Qingyun let out a soft cry, and a massive amount of Thunder Power instantly materialized out of thin air in the space around him.

Streaks of blinding, dazzling lightning continuously rose, converging over ten meters above Chu Qingyun's head, quickly forming a Sea of Thunder and Lightning.

The Sea of Thunder and Lightning continued to expand.

However, when it expanded to about twenty meters in diameter, nearing the size of the training room, the strange aura within the room began to suppress it, preventing it from expanding any further.

After two days of training, Chu Qingyun had long since grown accustomed to this.

The seventh floor of the Saint Extreme Tower was larger than the ninth floor.

But with hundreds of training rooms on the seventh floor, it was naturally impossible to casually conjure a Sea of Thunder and Lightning over five hundred meters wide like he could on the ninth floor.

When cultivating Sword Intent in the training room, its power would be suppressed by that strange aura once it surpassed a certain limit.

However, this didn't affect his training. Although its power was weakened under the suppression, all other aspects remained the same.

As long as he left the Saint Extreme Tower, he would be able to unleash the technique's normal power.

The Sea of Thunder and Lightning reached its limit at a diameter of about twenty meters.

At this moment, Chu Qingyun raised his Thunder Shock Sword. Within the Sea of Thunder and Lightning, streaks of brilliant lightning began to gather where the sword's tip was aimed.

"Go!"

With a wave of his longsword, a blinding bolt of lightning, carrying an immense aura and power, shot down from the concentrated point within the Sea of Thunder and Lightning.

However, just as the lightning bolt was about to strike the ground, it suddenly twisted as if squeezed by an invisible hand, then fizzled out with a CRACKLE.

This was also a form of protection the strange aura provided for the Saint Extreme Tower.

A technique as powerful as Thunder Sword Intent could be trained in the Saint Extreme Tower, but its power was suppressed, making it impossible to cause any real damage to the tower.

"I did it!"

A gratified smile appeared on Chu Qingyun's face.

After two days and nights of arduous, sleepless training, he had finally, truly comprehended Thunder Sword Intent and mastered this initial sword technique!

Mastering this sword technique meant that his Sword Dao Cultivation had officially crossed the threshold of the Intention Realm, taking the first and most crucial step.

This was a step that barred many experts of the Human King Realm, and even the Earth King and Celestial King Realms!

With this foundation, Chu Qingyun could now practice Emperor Level sword techniques, or even the powerful Sword Techniques within the Sword Intent Realm from more formidable Sect Level sword arts!

Without taking this step, one would be forever stuck at King Level sword techniques, unable to cultivate more profound sword arts.

A head start ensures one stays ahead. The transition from Sword Qi to Sword Intent was a qualitative transformation in the Sword Dao, and it could be considered a new starting point.

Beginning to train and comprehend the Intention Realm while still in the Martial Spirit Realm meant that once he reached the Martial King Realm, or even the Martial Emperor Realm, his understanding would be deeper than his peers and even those at higher levels.

Therefore, the earlier one mastered true Sword Intent, the more beneficial it would be for their future cultivation of the Sword Dao.

After savoring the feeling for a moment, with a mere thought from Chu Qingyun, the Sea of Thunder and Lightning gathered above quickly vanished, turning back into Primordial Power and dissipating into the surrounding space.

This was true Thunder Sword Intent, and it was fundamentally different from the sword techniques that came before Sword Intent.

The most fundamental difference was that techniques like Thunderbolt Flash, Thunder Sword Momentum, and even Thunder Light Sword Qi were all executed using the Primordial Power accumulated in his own Qi Sea.

Such techniques had an inherent limitation.

The Primordial Power accumulated in one's Qi Sea was, after all, finite.

Moreover, even if Chu Qingyun's Qi Sea was far larger than an ordinary person's and could store a vast amount of Primordial Power, the capacity of his meridians and body to withstand it was still limited.

Thus, the power he could unleash was also finite.

And that limit was the ultimate ceiling for the power of his previous techniques.

But upon reaching the Intention Realm, he could break through this limitation.

This was because in the Intention Realm, one used a portion of their own Primordial Power as a catalyst to commune with the Heaven and Earth Power through their own comprehension and realm, thereby condensing even greater strength.

The Primordial Power between heaven and earth is very thin, making cultivation highly inefficient. It requires a great deal of time to slowly absorb and refine it.

However, the space between heaven and earth is infinite. No matter how thin the Primordial Power is, the total amount it contains is virtually endless.

Therefore, in theory, as long as one's comprehension of the Sword Dao was sufficient and their understanding of Sword Intent was deep enough, they could command more of the Heaven and Earth Primordial Power. The power of Sword Intent could be said to have no upper limit!

Chu Qingyun had tested this in the Light Card Illusion Realm.

With his current strength as a Ninth Level Martial Spirit and his comprehension of Sword Intent, he could gather a Sea of Thunder and Lightning a hundred meters in diameter.

A single strike condensed from a Sea of Thunder and Lightning of that size was enough to defeat any other Ninth Level Martial Spirit!

However, the memory of that senior casually flicking out a bit of Primordial Power to instantly gather a Sea of Thunder and Lightning over five hundred meters wide still made Chu Qingyun shudder.

That tiny bit of Primordial Power was clearly nowhere near enough to gather such a massive Sea of Thunder and Lightning.

This could only mean that the senior's comprehension of Thunder Sword Intent had already reached an extremely profound realm.

Using just a speck of Primordial Power, he could channel enough Heaven and Earth Primordial Power to condense a gigantic Sea of Thunder and Lightning.

After he finished mastering the Thunder Sword Intent, Chu Qingyun took some water from his Storage Ring to wash himself, then changed into a clean set of clothes.

His previous clothes had been zapped into tatters; if he went out like that, he would probably attract a crowd.

Furthermore, over the past two days, although he had been concentrating on cultivating Sword Intent, the residual Elixir Power in his body, combined with his own Primordial Power and natural Recovery Power, had already healed most of his previous injuries.

Even the wounds on his body had returned to normal.

After leaving the Saint Extreme Tower, Chu Qingyun found someone and asked for news.

He learned that due to some unforeseen incident at the Cyan Leaf Sect's Outer Sect Land of Trial, the people who had gone to participate in the Inner Sect qualification competition would be returning a day later than originally planned.

Therefore, the second part of the Inner Sect qualification competition was also postponed by one day from the initially scheduled time.

This was to be expected; after all, plans rarely keep up with reality.

He had an extra day, but Chu Qingyun didn't return to the Saint Extreme Tower to continue training.

He returned to his residence and once again used his Devouring Power, consuming some of the Primordial Power from the Martial King Essence Pill and refining it into his Qi Sea. He used this to completely stabilize his realm at the Ninth Level of the Martial Spirit Realm.
