Destiny Mission of game ‘Star Ring’
Chapter 2055 - 1605: Showdown of Ruthlessness
At this moment, Derim rushed over and spoke to Coret and the others.
"Something’s wrong, we’re being targeted by a VI-class Heroic Level Star-Devouring Beast, Glanger. We can’t shake off Catastrophe Shadow; what should we do now?"
Su Mo listened without any change in expression. He knew all too well that people like Coret were like dogs with sharp instincts, catching any slight anomaly and gripping you tightly.
At this point, Katu and the others remained silent, all looking like if they fell, they’d take everyone down with them.
No one spoke for a moment.
Derim was dumbfounded, doubting if he had been unclear.
"Lords? This situation is extremely urgent. The Shield’s strength of Catastrophe Shadow has dropped by more than fifty points. If we don’t intervene, once the Shield is breached, we’ll be in danger."
Derim braved himself to speak, trembling.
"Hmm, it’s that serious, huh?"
Coret sneered coldly.
"Yes, Lord, the situation is extremely urgent."
Derim responded hastily.
Coret’s gaze landed on Su Mo, speaking coldly, "Su Mo, I remember you bragging about being the Deputy Captain before. Now that the ship is under attack, as the Deputy Captain, shouldn’t you be commanding us?"
Derim quickly turned to Su Mo, looking hopeful, as long as someone could step up, he didn’t care who it was.
Su Mo stared at Coret, responding without expression.
"Don’t you find it funny? You never admitted my Deputy Captain position before, and now you bring it up? Do you think I’ll listen to you? Whoever wants to go, go."
"Tsk, just admit you’re scared and don’t use this as an excuse. You were never qualified to be Deputy Captain; you just bootlicked your way up."
Attic sneered directly.
"Alright, if you acknowledge me as Deputy Captain, should I let you go out, and you’d have to go out?"
Su Mo retorted unceremoniously.
It’s not that Su Mo didn’t want to solve the issue, but he didn’t dare leave. He worried that Coret and others would take advantage of the attack to work against the old man, so he wouldn’t leave under any circumstance.
Coret and the others’ faces turned gloomy.
"Unwilling to follow commands, yet want me to speak up for you? Do you take me for a child?"
Su Mo crossed his legs carelessly.
Coret turned his head to look at Kathuler.
Kathuler refused to show any amiable expression either and said directly, "Why look at me? I’m not going out either. Don’t think you can command us. If you have the guts, you go."
"I don’t care, we’re all on the ship anyway."
Coret was unfazed.
"Then there’s nothing to say; let’s just see who lasts longer."
Su Mo replied indifferently.
Watching this unfolding, Sun Duoxiang couldn’t comprehend, a ludicrous thought emerged in his mind.
Such a powerful ship, could it actually sink just like that?
If it actually happens, it would be absolutely ridiculous.
Boom—
The entirety of Catastrophe Shadow shook violently once again, and at this time, the door opened, and even Anason couldn’t help but come out.
He looked at Su Mo and the others, "Are you just going to let the ship be attacked?"
"Anason, don’t bother saying more. No matter what, I’m not going."
Coret asserted directly.
"Who’s afraid of whom?"
Kathuler mocked.
"I’m not going either!"
Adomo stretched and declared.
Each one was tougher than the other.
Derim was thoroughly anxious by then, and he begged hastily.
"Lords, we can’t delay any longer, if we do, the ship will really be doomed."
But everyone remained unmoved.
Anason was also at a loss, he turned to Su Mo, advising.
"Lord Su Mo, would you mind going? If something happens to Catastrophe Shadow, you’d be affected too."
"I’m okay with managing the situation, but if I’m not mistaken, the attacker is a nimble Monster, right?"
Su Mo responded calmly.
"That’s correct, Lord, it’s a VI-class Heroic Level Star-Devouring Beast, Glanger—very fast."
Derim replied promptly.
"So just commanding isn’t much help. How about this, let them follow my command to engage and hold the attacker, that way I can direct Catastrophe Shadow to eliminate the threat."
"Why should we fight under your command!"
Coret replied coldly.
"We are all on the ship; it’s not just me under attack. Everyone contributes, that’s fair."
Su Mo shamelessly replied.
"Bullshit!"
Kathuler was beside himself with anger.
"If that’s not okay, and this isn’t either, Lord Anason, you see, it’s not me being disrespectful, they are."
Su Mo shrugged his shoulders.
Anason paused for a moment, then spoke to persuade, "Lord Coret, Lord Kathuler, Lord Attic, Lord Adomo, would you consider compromising?"
"How? It’s completely unfair."
Kathuler replied angrily.
"What would be fair then?"
Anason asked quickly.
"If everyone fights together, I have no objections."
Kathuler’s expression changed constantly, then he gritted his teeth and said.
"Yes, if we all fight together, I have no objections."
Attic and Adomo also straightforwardly agreed.
"Very well."
Su Mo also took a step back, knowing his command alone couldn’t convince them to fight.
Coret’s expression shifted for a long time, ultimately compromising, "Alright! Then let’s all fight together."
"Much obliged."
Anason replied respectfully.
Then Su Mo and his group of five stood up simultaneously, heading to their respective hangars, while their subordinates continued to face off against each other.
Derim sighed in relief, wiping the cold sweat off his forehead.
.....
Soon after, Su Mo arrived at the private hangar area allocated to him by the old man.
Mad Eye Rhenhok sat quietly there; besides that, several Divine’s Apostles and modified Divine Guard mechas were present.
Kendi and the others saw Su Mo coming, and piloted their mechas to greet him.
"Boss, you’re here."
"Mm, continue to stand by here."
"Alright, no problem. But boss, what are you up to?"
Kendi asked steadily.
"I’m headed out to block the Star-Devouring Beast’s assault."
"Let us go with you."
"No need, stay here. If Sun Duoxiang sends a signal, get there immediately. As for my side, don’t worry—it’s not just me going out. Plus, our aim is to hold back, not kill; just enough time for Catastrophe Shadow to evade the enemy."
Su Mo explained simply.
"Understood. Please be careful."
Kendi replied seriously.
Su Mo nodded slightly, then climbed onto Mad Eye Rhenhok.
Once inside the cockpit, Su Mo called out.
"Iris."
A bell-like laugh rang out.
"Hehe, I’m here."
Upon hearing Iris’ voice, Su Mo’s tense nerves eased, and he spoke.
"I need your power."
"Is Xiao Shi not here?"
Iris keenly sensed the issue.
"It’s injured and unable to fight."
Su Mo replied somberly.
"What a pity, but it’s okay, you still have me! Let me lend you my strength!"
Iris said in a euphoric voice.
"Alright! Let’s go!"
Su Mo responded sternly.
