Destiny Mission of game ‘Star Ring’
Chapter 2039 - 1598: The World Remains, but Its People Have Changed (Part 3)
"The reason President of Alles makes two-pronged decisions is for the continuation of the Federation’s civilization. In the face of life and death, we all need to set aside personal desires, unite, and obey commands. Only then can we hope to survive the crisis, rather than be scattered like loose sand, divided."
Su Mo spoke to everyone present in a deep voice.
Many people showed expressions of shame on their faces, each remaining silent.
Then Su Mo righteously continued, "Of course, I understand your desire to retreat since everyone fears death. Let’s do it this way, there’s no need to argue anymore. The evacuation slots are limited, so let Auch President of Alles distribute them fairly and justly among you. Arrange for your most important family members to leave, and the rest of us will fight side by side. Rest assured, I will be with you."
"Alright, since Lord Su Mo has said so, we will comply unconditionally!"
"I agree as well."
"Su Mo, you saved my entire family and me, so we’ll stay. At worst, consider it a repayment."
...
For a moment, many councilmen and key figures present responded accordingly.
Lin Yaotian gazed at Su Mo with great admiration and relief, recognizing he hadn’t misjudged him.
The young man from back then had now grown into the indispensable spiritual pillar of the Federation.
At this moment, Alles also breathed a sigh of relief, finally reaching a consensus and resolving the internal crisis. He then announced to everyone.
"The council meeting is adjourned. Everyone, disperse and prepare."
"Yes!"
So, everyone present dispersed and left.
Soon, only Alles and Su Mo were left in the council chamber, with Alles showing a tired smile to Su Mo.
"Why did you suddenly come?"
"With something as significant as migration, how could I not come to take a look?"
Su Mo replied calmly, but a hint of worry was subtly conveyed through his eyes.
Alles keenly caught that hint of worry in Su Mo’s eyes and said, "There’s no avoiding it, but with your intervention, the situation seems mostly settled. Otherwise, it would have been difficult to launch as scheduled."
"Do you have confidence in the evacuation plan?"
Su Mo pondered for a while before asking.
"No one has confidence in the unknown Star Sea. It could be a new beginning, or it might lead to ultimate disaster."
Alles responded bluntly.
"Who will lead the mission this time?"
Su Mo silently asked.
"Vice Chairman Ithlin and Li Ruiqi will personally lead, and for combat, the Federation has drawn many elites from the Expeditionary Army to form a new guard legion, with experts like Rose and Karina responsible for escorting. Initially, we planned to recall Wang Hai to accompany the relocation ships, but he refused, wanting to fight alongside the Federation in the Negative Universe."
Alles explained briefly.
"That works."
Su Mo nodded in response.
"Are you hurried to return to the Federation this time?"
"Not in a hurry. I don’t have any particularly urgent matters. I should spend a few days with the Lin Family and then see off the Federation Evacuation Fleet."
"Alright, by the way, I just wanted to mention something to you just now."
Alles nodded in agreement.
"Go ahead!"
"This time, a substantial workforce is left behind in the Federation, and I’ll have them help you expedite the fortification repairs as much as possible."
"That would be much appreciated. By the way, how is the progress on the Antimatter Series Weapons I asked you to produce earlier?"
"The factory is almost complete; just need a little more time to begin mass production. Honestly, without so many troublesome matters, production might have started already."
Alles replied to Su Mo, noting that Su Mo had not only provided the technology but also vast amounts of raw materials.
"Great, once they are produced, the Federation will keep 30% for its use. Deliver the rest to the Immortal Blade."
Su Mo took a deep breath and replied, feeling that the weapon production was slow. If it had been quicker, it might have changed the course of the war.
"Alright, you can count on me. I’ll personally ensure this is done efficiently."
Council President Alles solemnly promised Su Mo.
"Good, then I’ll head out now."
Su Mo then bid farewell to Alles and turned to leave the meeting hall.
As Su Mo exited the council hall, he saw Lin Yaotian standing not far away, with Sun Duoxiang awkwardly standing beside him.
Su Mo walked over to Lin Yaotian and greeted him.
"Father."
Lin Yaotian nodded slightly and then asked.
"Are you feeling any better? When you were being treated at the center hospital in Star Ring City, Xun and I visited once, but unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to see you."
"Much better, by the way, how is Xiao Yu doing now?"
Su Mo quickly asked with concern.
"She suffered quite severe injuries, almost didn’t make it. Fortunately, she was saved and is now recuperating at home."
Lin Yaotian replied calmly.
Hearing this, Su Mo said with a complex expression, "I’m sorry, I didn’t take good care of her..."
Lin Yaotian raised his hand to interrupt Su Mo, solemnly saying, "You did nothing wrong. Lin Xiaoyu followed you and excelled greatly. She fought for the Federation and Earth Star, even for so many innocent people. Even if she had sacrificed herself, I would be proud. In this era, we are all insignificant, our lives like weeds, but as long as the things we do are valuable, that’s enough."
"Yes."
Su Mo immediately nodded.
"Are you in a hurry to leave this time? If not, come home and stay for a few days."
