‘Small System Upgrade To Quests’ was only a few words, but it was a reward that sounded particularly enticing. The quests and such had been a pretty big thing early on following his arrival in this world. However, they had completely fallen off to the wayside after a while. Actwin seemingly didn't bother creating any new ones outside of quests that aligned with what Anoteros did regularly anyway. This made it a waste of time to even check what quests were available.

This is required. Quest creation is one of my special traits as a system. Not every system can do this, you know? But… I am supposed to be a lust-based system that pushes its user to greater and greater depravities, and the quests were supposed to be my main thing

As in, I use alluring rewards to lead my user down a path of sinful lust, but that just doesn’t work with you. The quests were meant to be challenges, but since you are already past the finish line of the path I was supposed to lead you down to, the strength of the quests diminished, as most quests I tried creating didn’t work out purely because they felt more like handouts than challenges…

Since I get to receive a system upgrade because you'd defeated a script holder with a system of his own, I thought it would make the most sense to actually make something out of my quest-making ability. I don’t really know what it will look like once the upgrade occurs, so for all I know, they might not really be quests anymore, but the core should remain the same nonetheless

Actwin manifested a smiley face using a system panel.

Either way, it will take a little while for the upgrade to settle in. I’ll notify you once it’s done

‘Alright then, hopefully the new quests will be good challenges’

I hope so too!

Edrick thus turned his attention to the last reward mentioned…

It said that the so-called ‘Mysterious Seed’ had begun growing. This seed was first mentioned to have been formed back when the Xiao script had been shattered, and it seemed like it had required the destruction of another big script to actually start growing.

Regardless, Anoteros couldn’t sense this seed, and he couldn’t feel any changes in him. Hence, he would have to wait and see how things developed. The seed was probably only in its very early stage of growth, so it might not have any effects until he destroyed another significant script.

All in all, the haul for this script was quite nice. It unfortunately didn’t bring any new Everlasting Elixir Of Inversion, but it was fine for now, as he still had two in stock if necessary. Anyway, the only other script currently not destroyed was Yechen’s, but that script was pretty much dead in the water already, and its protagonist was under Lui’s care at the moment.

Edrick didn’t have plans to use an Everlasting Elixir Of Inversion on Yechen. If anything were to happen to fragilise his status as a man, it would come from Lui, not Anoteros. The alchemist would better not excite the Duookois, or else he might lose the purity of his secret sanctum.

After all, Lui wasn’t as picky as Edrick when it came to the males she was willing to use her virile bits upon. She had preferences, but she would invade the secret cavern of pretty much any man if she felt like it.

‘He’ll be fine… Probably’

Edrick looked back down at Fenglin. She was still hard at work. Truly, when it came to first experiences, men and former men were the best at using their mouths to satisfy. They knew how an eager club wanted to be handled.

“Make sure to swallow everything, Fenglin”

As he said this, he grabbed her head and pushed her deeper onto his fleshy pike, shooting a torrent of Cleansing Elixir right down into her stomach.

She drank everything without missing a single drop.

Her master patted her head before standing up and getting himself dressed.

“Fenglin”

“Yes, Master?”

“From now on, you’ll be a personal maid of mine alongside Xiaolie. Follow her around and listen to what she says, alright? She’ll show you the ropes”

“I understand, Master”

“Good, rest for the remainder of the day. Get dressed and go find Yaling–Anyone will be able to point you to her office–She’ll show you your assigned room from now on. Tomorrow, you’ll start working”

“Very well, Master”

Edrick finished putting his clothes back on and left the room without glancing at Fenglin again after finishing inside her throat.

He didn’t mention it, but Fenglin’s room was larger than most other maid rooms since it was shared with Fingmi, but this was something she would find out herself in due time. Additionally, Fingmi had actually received a special maid position as well.

She was technically a personal maid of Edrick as well, but her job was obviously much different from Xiaolie’s and Fenglin’s–Those two were powerhouses who acted as his bodyguards and personal enforcers.

Fingmi was more akin to an Amanuensis, or scribe. In other words, her job was to write down what her master said and did throughout the day whenever she was with him. If need be, she could be sent to record other events, but she was primarily going to be following Edrick around.

By leaving a trace of what he did and said every single day, the maids who needed to make important decisions on their own would be able to know some of his thoughts and ideas without needing to ask him directly–Which would be especially useful when he wasn’t around.

‘Alright… I don’t have any scripts to worry about anymore. I suppose it is time to go all-in concerning Journomanp and Heldeorlt. I already lucked out by having Shenjian Sect reach out to me on their own, but I can spread my influence further as long as I actually put my mind to it and give myself time’

When you speak of the wolf, you see its tail... Just as he thought of this, Shu appeared from a hallway corner.

‘I swear, it’s like this girl waits for the right timing every time’

“Master, I have a report for you”

“I’m all ears”

She cleared her throat.

“Whilst the situation remains calm in Heldeorlt, things have been growing a bit frantic in Journomanp… I only have intel on the areas within the border, but the sects there seem to have been collectively growing dissatisfied, as the disciples they are tasked to send into our kingdom typically never return, or return heavily injured without anything to show for their efforts”

“Mmh… I suppose our good friends were precursors, then. Do you think you could contact them secretly?”

Shu shook her head.

“I’m sorry, Master. I don’t have the means to do something like this without strongly relying on luck”

“That’s fine. Your networks are already quite advanced despite how little time you had to build them up. Secret communications with foreign entities would be a bit much, even for you…”

“...Well, we do have a direct and secure line of communication with Shenjian Sect, don’t we? Let’s talk to them and see if they can do the speaking on our behalf”

“I understand, Master! It shall be done in the briefest of delays!”

“Right… Come to my office afterwards. I’ll give you a little reward for your hard work”

“I-I am honoured, Master…!”
