Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf
Chapter 325: Quarantine
" How...how do you know that?" The man asked. Adrian didn’t answer, instead he turned towards Annie.
" What do you think?" He asked, Annie touched the man’s forehead and her eyes glowed like green embers.
" He’s telling the truth, from him memories it doesn’t seem like Pestilence took over his body but he is infected." She said.
Adrian sniffed the man, " You’re right, he’s indeed sick but the scent of Pestilence isn’t strong on him.
Still he’s a carrier." Said Adrian, Annie just sighed and nodded. Adrian dropped the man.
The man opened his eyes wide, he fell into the volcano and Ignited into flames. " Let go." Adrian teleported with Annie.
They returned to the cafe and found everybody there coughing, they were still in the early stages.
None of them seemed worried but Adrian and Annie knew, they’ve been infected and will most likely spread the disease.
" What do we do?" Annie asked, she was okay killing that man, he was a far gone anyways and an Espara.
But these people were just normal humans, there were even children amongst them, she couldn’t bring herself to kill them.
Adrian had no such reservations, a silver flame Ignited above his palm, " We burn them."
Finally the people noticed them, they all stood there frozen, they heard Adrian and grew terrified and screamed.
Annie grabbed his arm and shook her head, " We can’t kill everybody Adrian, the entire city is affected now."
Adrian used lunar realm covering the entire city and sighed, " You’re right, everybody had been infected.
Possibly everybody along the path that man took as well, killing all of them will be a hassle, we better get started."
" No, you idiot, I’m telling you we can’t kill so many people, our best cause of action is to take down Pestilence." Said Annie.
" Finding Pestilence will not be easy, if we don’t contain the spread more people will die." He argued.
" You’re right, you can teleport so go find Pestilence, I’ll make sure to quarantine everybody who’s been contaminated." Replied Annie.
" Are you sure?" Adrian asked. She nodded and he disappeared leaving her in the cafe with a bunch of humans watching her.
" Come outside I’ll explain everything." She flew to the air and floated a few hundred metres above the city.
People raised their heads watching her, many still believed the supernatural world was merely fiction.
But seeing a flying woman, some started to believe it but most were just thought there was a trick behind it.
Annie scanned the entire city with her psionic lunar esper, a few cars were trying to get out.
Some in fact were kilometres away by now, she was able to detect those infected and those who weren’t.
An invisible force grabbed those cars dragging them back inside the city terrifying the passengers.
The trains suffered the same fate, after some time she finally dragged all those she felt were infected.
Then created an invisible barrier around the entire city. " If I could have everybody’s attention." She spoke softly.
But her voice spread across the entire city reaching the ears of even those who were deaf.
For a moment they thought they’re been cured but she explained to them using telepathy.
They were a bit disappointed and excited, after all, they were witnessing a supernatural human.
" Alright, I’m glad everybody is listening, I’m asking you to calm down and let me explain what’s happening."
Actually the people were not very calm but her telekinesis was so powerful it held them in place until they stopped panicking.
In fact she was even able to hold back conditions like heart attacks for those with weak hearts.
" I’m sorry about this but currently, something has escaped its prison and currently walking free.
I know you’re all wondering what does that got to do with you but unfortunately this thing is Pestilence.
I know some of you might’ve heard legends about the four horsemen of the apocalypse, they’re real.
In fact a lot of things are real but I will not get into that, the point is, Pestilence is out and you’ve all been infected."
" What? What is she saying are we going to die?"
" I don’t want to die, no please let me out I need to see my child."
The people started panicking, Annie had let them go and no longer holding them with her telepathy.
So they scrambled like headless chickens pushing each other, most were trying to find the nearest hospital.
The hospital staff were terrified by the surge of people running towards them, especially since they figured if what the flying lady is saying is true.
Then they must be infected as well. Annie sighed,’ This is troublesome, they’re like children.’
To be fair, in comparison to her they kind of were children. " Please calm down." Her Voice reached all of them.
She had used a bit of psionic lunar esper in it, calming them down, they blanked out for a moment.
Then came to be and realised she could just drop them at any moment, a few of them realised that at least.
In this city, there were Espara and Fayera of lower levels, they felt her power and knew resistance was meaningless.
Annie realised unless she forced these people they wouldn’t listen but she didn’t want to do that.
So she talked to the police and had them control the crowd, some time later they were finally ready to listen.
" Alright as I was saying, my mate is currently hunting down Pestilence, we have the means to take him down.
The tragedy of Famine that happened a few years ago will not repeat itself." She told them expecting them to understand and have hope.
However that seemed to have sparked some curiosity instead. " Famine, what are you talking about?" An old man asked.
" Forget I said anything." She tried to brush it off.
" Wait, you’re telling us the horror we experienced during that pandemic was caused by one of the Horsemen?
Is it really the apocalypse? Are we going to die? I don’t want to die here, I’m going to my family let me go!" A man shouted.
That seemed to lit a spark and everybody started shouting for her to let them go. Annie tried talking calmly.
However nothing seemed to work. Finally she had enough." Shut up!" She commanded.
A wave of psionic esper followed her voice, everybody suddenly lost their voices, this brought another wave of panic.
However no matter how hard they tried they couldn’t speak nor move. Annie glared at them with cold eyes.
" You’ll listen and follow my instructions, thus city is under quarantine, none of you are leaving until Pestilence is dealt with.
You’re now carriers of Pestilence’s diseases, you’ll infect everybody you come across, we can’t have that.
Those of you with families outside, I suggest you call them and inform them, I have more places to take care of."
She flew off leaving a city of terrified people.
