Riven quickly swung his blades downward with all his remaining strength, unleashing a fierce combination of Death Guillotine of the Abyss and Flesh-Rippling And Soul-Shattering Onslaught. The dual techniques slashed and tore through the hard flesh and dense armor of the monstrosity without mercy.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

"Come on, die already! How long is this going to take?!"

As he continued his relentless assault, the weakened state Genesis-05 had fallen into began to slowly fade away. The creature was simply too large for Riven to force it away from its current position. Its long, root-like legs spread across the ground like fleshy tendrils, greedily sucking in more and more ambient Mana to accelerate its recovery.

"Shit...!"

TRUUUM!

A powerful shockwave of pure psychic energy struck Riven directly. It completely scrambled his mind for a moment and sent him flying backward through the air. He crashed through dozens of ruined walls before finally hitting the ground hard and vomiting a mouthful of blood.

As Riven slowly forced himself back to his feet, his summoned Great Abyssal King of Rot continued to hold Genesis-05 in place. The giant phantasmal spirit constantly spread dense miasma and nether energy into the monster’s body, causing its open wounds to rot and fester at an accelerated rate.

However, Genesis-05 was a true monster among monsters. It was an experiment created from one hundred human sacrifices, dozens of samples from extremely powerful creatures, and thousands of pure Genesis Cells.

The abomination grew even more aggressive. Dozens of tiny new eyes sprouted across the area where its large central eye had once been. It punched the spirit guardian repeatedly with its remaining arm while firing concentrated beams of energy from its many smaller eyes.

At the same time its massive skull turned toward Label once more... calling out to her.

"Nngh?!"

BA-DUM!

BA-DUM!

BA-DUM!

She could clearly hear his voice echoing inside her mind.

"Sis... ter..."

"!!!"

Her hands trembled violently. Noir immediately noticed that Label was losing all control of herself. Her eyes turned a deep purple once more as she began walking forward, ready to step off the ledge and fall into the boiling mana below.

"Graar!"

Noir barely managed to catch her with his living shadows and pull her back to safety. Label groaned and struggled, still trying to walk toward her "brother" while completely under the hypnotic influence.

"Sis... ter... return... to me... we must... become... one..."

"A-Ahhh..."

"We must... return... to... mother."

"Aahh...! Aagh! No...! NO!!!"

Label fought back with every ounce of willpower she possessed. She shook her head violently, resisted the mind control, and finally ran toward Riven with Noir’s help, carrying a specially prepared elixir in her hands.

"Riven!!!"

As she reached him, a giant bony tendril suddenly loomed high above them both.

"?!"

"If you... won’t join me... then... we will... devour you!!!"

Riven’s spirit guardian had already been torn to shreds. Genesis-05’s remaining giant arm extended dozens of times its normal length in an attempt to reach Label and devour her — someone who shared the same Genesis Cells as itself.

Label clenched her teeth and cried out in desperation. Noir attempted to defend her, but...

FLASH! FLASH! FLASH! FLASH!

Four blurring lights appeared from all directions at once. They attacked the giant bony blade simultaneously and parried it with their combined strength, sending the massive limb flying backward until it pierced the monster’s own chest.

"GAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

As Genesis-05 screamed in agony, Kagehisa and his retainers appeared beside the pair. They quickly grabbed both Riven and Label and began running as fleshy roots started spreading rapidly in every direction, chasing after them with murderous intent.

"Kagehisa!!!" Label cried out in relief.

"We have to get out of here, and fast!" Kagehisa ordered.

All four ninjas leaped out of the collapsing ruins of the laboratory just as a series of explosions followed closely behind them. They landed hard on the grass below and rolled across the bloodied battlefield to absorb the impact.

"We have to—"

"I’m fine."

Suddenly Riven stood back up as if nothing had happened. He appeared in front of them without any of them even noticing his movement. His aura surged with even greater power as he rapidly transformed into his most powerful chimeric form. Channeling both his Titan Physique and Titan Mana Heart, he grew to a towering height of ten meters.

Label’s elixir provided exactly the boost he needed. With her help he was determined to end this nightmare once and for all. He fused both of his swords into a single giant black scythe and channeled every remaining drop of power into his arms just as Genesis-05 slammed into the ground and began crawling toward them at an incredibly high speed.

"End of the line, bastard."

His aura exploded outward, revealing the spectral form of a black-feathered angel standing behind him. The angel possessed long silver hair and glowing red eyes that stared coldly at the incoming abomination — a creature born from the cells of something that should never have been awakened.

Decapitating Death Blade – Azrael.

A massive wave of pure darkness surged from Riven’s single vertical slash. Absolute black color engulfed everything for a single frozen moment just as the beast’s jaws were about to close down on him and everyone else who watched in horror.

SLAAASH!

"?!"

Genesis-05 stopped moving completely, as if time itself had halted. Then...

"G-GRYAAAAAEEEGGGHHHH...!"

Its entire body was torn apart and completely bisected. Flesh, tendrils, and all sorts of grotesque innards erupted in every direction as the two massive halves collapsed to the ground. They twitched in final agony while the light slowly faded from its many eyes, which remained locked on both Riven and Label.

Label looked at the dying creature with a complicated expression of pity. She sighed in deep relief that the nightmare was finally over, even though it never should have ended this way in the first place.

As the entire group stared at the fallen monstrosity in heavy silence, the weight of what humanity had done settled heavily on their shoulders.

Riven clenched his teeth and gripped his fists tightly in pure anger. His thoughts turned to his family and to Willheim.

Just how far was Claymore Enterprises truly willing to go?
