Death... and me

Chapter 3395: I Summon You!

Chapter 3395: I Summon You!

The claws lashed out without giving time for anyone to react, and they aimed straight at Farlo, who was the closest there.

Yet, in that fraction of a moment, Kentucky's body rotated in mid-air, and his own claws clashed against the incoming attack.

*Clang, clang, clang!*

*Boom, boom, boom!*

*Argh...* Kentucky grunted as his body was sent flying down like a meteor. As for the claws he used to counter the Ice Claws, they were now completely frozen, including his toes attached to them. 'Rean, those claws have the same properties as those Glacial Runes!'

Rean nodded, already with his Sword out, slashing back at the Ice Claws after the collision against Kentucky.

'Death Style, Three Claws of the Dragon!'

Three Swords appeared at the same time while Rean's hair changed into a mix of Black and White. For something to be able to cause Kentucky that much damage in a single exchange, the owner of those claws had to be quite exceptional. Thus, Rean didn't hold back from the very start.

Using the moment of the clash against Kentucky, Rean's attacks followed. Sky Energy flourished, space bent at will, Bright Red Lightning shined, and the fifth stage of Sword Intent flowed.

*Bang, Bang, Bang!*

The three attacks landed, blasting those claws away, even cracking one of them. The power was so great that Rean managed to prevent the claw's properties from freezing his sword.

*Roar!*

Blue blood then began to fall as a demon beast was expelled out of the fabric of space. It wasn't very big, but it was quite familiar. Anyone looking at it could tell it was absolutely identical to the beast that destroyed the ships. Not only that, but it was also the same as the astral projection blocking their Pocket Dimensional Realms.

There was a difference, though. It was much, much smaller than the one that destroyed the ships. It also didn't give the same dreadful presence as that one. Could it be a younger one? They weren't certain.

"Well, we were warned by Ranfal that the Glacial Corridor also had Demon Beasts," Rean commented. "Hey, you, I can tell you are in the Space Bending Realm. Why are you attacking us?"

Since it was already in the Space Bending Realm, it obviously had to have sentience. So, Rean asked it directly.

The blue blood coming from its paw, where the claw Rean cracked was located, froze. The claw itself seemed to recover with that move, and although the injury wasn't healed, it didn't bleed anymore.

*ORT, ORT, ORT, ORT...*

The Seal didn't answer Rean's question. One would even wonder if it understood Rean at all. Instead, it started barking to the skies, puzzling Rean's group.

Of course, the confusion only lasted a moment as the reason for its barking became apparent soon enough.

Glacial Decay Runes began to gather in several different points around the Rean and Kentucky's group, and out of space, several more of those Seal with scales came out, all of them barking.

*ORT, ORT, ORT, ORT...*

Rean and the others had their weapons out, but pretty much only Rean and Kentucky seemed calm. Each one of those Scaled Seals had a cultivation in the Space Bending Realm. Not only that, but Gram and the others had seen the first one's strength after it clashed against Kentucky and Rean.

They didn't know how, but both Rean and Kentucky were stronger than Gram, Duleti, and Farlo with that low cultivation of theirs. Yet, even they barely caused any damage to one of those Seals. What could Gram's group possibly do against these new enemies if Rean and Kentucky couldn't do much about them?

"Marvin, Casper, any ideas?" Duleti asked as she had a Scarf rotating around her. That was her weapon, a Scarf made of a special material that enhanced her Water Element abilities.

Farlo didn't have a weapon, but his small horns shined with a faint blue light. Rean and Kentucky could feel Starlight Energy brimming inside, obviously a trait of the Yortin Spirit Race.

Gram was a lot more 'normal,' though. He had a sword, just like Rean.

Rean narrowed his eyes. If it was just to flee, then he was confident he could make it out of there with Kentucky. When it comes to flight, he refuses to believe those Seals can outpace Kentucky. However, what bothered Rean was the fact those Scaled Seals came out of the fabric of space as if they had used a Spatial Tunnel or something similar.

Until the point where the Ice Claws suddenly appeared, even their group's Natural Spatial Perceptions hadn't caught the Scaled Seal's presence at all, let alone their Divine Senses. Could they escape if those Seals could use such a high level of Space Manipulation? Above all, Rean and Kentucky were supposed to be as strong as normal Elemental Space Realm experts. Yet, Rean barely gained any advantage at all against that Space-Bending Realm Scaled Seal, and that was after he used the momentum of the collision between it and Kentucky.

*ORT, ORT, ORT, ORT...*

The Scaled Seals barked for a little longer, keeping their encirclement of Rean and Kentucky's group. Then... they suddenly stopped. All their mouths opened at the same time, and the Deep Blue Freezing Light quickly accumulated inside.

They weren't idiots. That was the same attack as that gigantic Scaled Seal used to destroy all the Warm Boats and kill many of their passengers.

"Casper!" Rean wasn't going to wait for them to finish accumulating their power, though.

"Hold on!" Kentucky wouldn't, either. His Sky Energy accumulated in his wings, Rean's Enhancement Skill strengthened his body, and Space Bent in his surroundings. With a single flap of his wings, a sonic boom was caused, and Kentucky shot forward like black and white lightning. He didn't move aimlessly. Kentucky's Divine Sense was spread, and he saw which one of the Seals took longer to start gathering that Deep Blue Freezing Energy inside its mouth before flying there.

*Ziu, ziu, ziu, ziu, ziu, ziu...*

All around, rays of Deep Blue Light shot past Kentucky as he dodged to the best of his abilities. It looked more like an illumination show. What he couldn't dodge, Rean and the others fended off. The same strategy repeated. They used ranged attacks, so they didn't need to touch those rays of deep blue freezing light.

Yet, when Kentucky was about to break through the encirclement, he noticed the look on the Seal ahead change. It was the same Scaled Seal he had chosen before. He flew in its direction, expecting to get past it before it could shoot its ray of deep blue freezing light from its mouth, but now he understood it was a trap.

The light inside that Scaled Seal's mouth, which accumulated slightly slower than the others, instantly doubled in size. From the very start, the Scaled Seal pretended to be late to join the joint attack so Kentucky would come straight at it while trying to escape.

"Shit!" Kentucky tried to change direction, but the rays of freezing light from all the other Scaled Seals converged, blocking any escape route other than the one ahead.

Kentucky could see it, the glee in that Scaled Seal's eyes, knowing he and his group had no escape. Too bad, though. It was Kentucky who had a disdainful expression in the end. He immediately spoke, and spoke so fast, that it only took a split second for every word to come out. "You trust way too much on your ability to lock others' Pocket Dimensional Realms. Come forth, the god of death, I summon you!"

*Zush!*

Using the fact Kentucky and Rean were close enough, Roan jumped out of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, appearing right above the Scaled Seal ahead. He didn't use his Scythe, though. Instead, he simply kicked downwards.

*Zash! BANG!*

Roan's attack slammed on the top of the Seal's mouth, forcing it to close right when it was about to shoot that ray of deep blue freezing light. The energy, having nowhere to go, rushed back into the Scaled Seal's head and body instead, instantly freezing its brain and even its soul. It was killed by its own ability in an instant.

*Zush!*

Kentucky then flew by, and Roan grabbed Kentucky's wing as Kentucky fled from the other rays of deep blue freezing lights. Roan didn't seem to care about those, though. Instead, his expression was terrible as he talked to Kentucky instead. "Since when do I answer to your summons?"

Kentucky made an innocent expression. "That was just a legitimate attempt to distract the enemy. Don't take it to heart, will you?"

Rean almost burst into laughter right there. He didn't believe Kentucky's words even for a second. Unfortunately, Rean was too busy taking care of the other attacks that Kentucky couldn't dodge as Kentucky flew away.

Before Roan could complain, Kentucky took the chance to ask. "So, what do we do now that we got past them?"
