Chapter 3394: Let's Give It a Try Then!
"What?!" They all couldn't believe it, looking behind from where they came from.
Rean, however, pointed to the front, far in the distance. "It is a little hard to see, but take a look ahead."
Everyone's eyes followed Rean's finger. The sky was open ahead, very clear. However, just slightly, it was possible to see the Deep Blue Clouds of the Glacial Overflow Phenomenon in the distance. From the looks of it, the eye of the hurricane extended for quite a few hundred kilometers at least. It was just due to the Glacial Overflow being so big that they could see it from their position on the other side.
"It can't be!" Duleti couldn't help but comment. "There has never been a hurricane in the Glacial Overflow before, let alone one with the Glacial Decay Runes. Is this still the Glacial Decay Airstream?"
Rean shook his head. "I have no idea. However, while I was checking with my Divine Sense, it was possible to see the wind curving in a specific direction, just slightly. Then, after Kentucky flew those extra two thousand kilometers, I was certain the Airstream wasn't the same you saw before."
"But why would you want us to come to the center of the hurricane, then?" Gram was confused. "Shouldn't we have gone in the opposite direction to leave the hurricane's range instead?"
This time, Rean pointed back from where they came from. "Take a look at the Deep Blue Clouds behind us."
They once again followed Rean's instructions. After they arrived at the eye of the hurricane, they stopped flying, so they weren't moving at the moment. Yet, the Blue Clouds behind seemed to be getting further and further away, and at a very high speed. "This..."
Seeing that they understood the problem, Rean commented. "The Hurricane was moving just like that, so if we really tried to escape it, we would actually get more and more trapped. Our only choice was to fly in the opposite direction and aim for the eye. Only here would we be probably safe."
"I see now," Gram looked at the other side of the eye. "From here, we will leave the eye through the other side. Since the hurricane is moving in the opposite direction, we should be able to escape quite fast."
In Gram's head, the hurricane was still moving from north to south, and they were obviously caught on the south side. That's why they kept flying and didn't manage to go anywhere. If they fly north, they obviously should be able to escape this time.
"Sigh..." Yet, Rean didn't seem very confident. "Casper, go to the other side of the eye. If I'm not wrong, I don't think you have to fly a lot more once you cross the center of the eye."
Kentucky was confused, and so were the others. Nonetheless, Kentucky quickly flapped his wings and flew through the clear eye. It only took him a little bit over ten minutes to get to the center of the eye, which was much smaller than the rest of the hurricane's body. The eye is always around a tenth to two-tenths or so the size of the hurricane itself. So far, the Deep Blue Clouds on the other side of the eye approached very fast with Kentucky's speed.
However, as soon as Kentucky passed through the center of the eye, the Deep Blue Clouds' approach in the distance seemed to slow down considerably. At that approaching speed, Kentucky would take at least 30 to 40 minutes to get from the center to the north side. Kentucky didn't do that, though. He stopped in mid-air, confused. "What is happening here? It only took ten minutes to reach the center of the eye. However, I will take three or four times to get to the clouds on the other side now."
Rean shrugged. "Simple, the hurricane is following us. That's why it was so easy to get to the center of the eye while it takes so long to go away from it. Regardless of which side we choose, we probably can reach the clouds and enter the storm again, but we will also get trapped there just like before, never finding the exit."
"What?!" If the hurricane information already surprised them before, this new piece of news completely shocked their minds. "How's that possible?!"
Rean pointed at his head, but the meaning was obvious. "The weird Seal inside our Pocket Dimensional Realms. That little guy is still barking, and he is still interacting with the outside world. I'm pretty sure it is interacting with the hurricane itself."
Even though they could see it, they couldn't be certain. "How do you know it is?"
"Because I don't see any other reason for such a huge Glacial Decay Hurricane to insist on having us at its very center," Rean explained. "Of course, if someone here has some method of attracting this hurricane that I don't know, please say it. I'll take back my theory."
Only silence remained after Rean's question. Indeed, if not that Waterdog Seal blocking their Pocket Dimensional Realms, which is barking and shinning every time, then what exactly could be attracting the hurricane to them?
"Well, it should makes things quite simple..." Kentucky had an idea right after. His words obviously got the attention of his group as he continued. "If Marvin is right and the hurricane is somehow following us because of the thing inside our Pocket Dimensional Realms, then we just need to go in opposite directions. Marvin and I will go to the north side, while the rest of you will go south or any other direction that isn't north. Unless the hurricane splits itself to follow us individually, it shouldn't be able to do it."
"But..." Gram couldn't help but ask. "What if it decides to follow one of us and ignore the rest."
Kentucky shrugged. "Well, bad luck."
Gram's mouth twitched. Somehow he felt like he would be the unlucky one.
"Hum? Why take such risks? Hahaha!" Rean laughed at that idea, though. "Let's simply go west and move at a steady pace. This hurricane is moving to always keep us at its center, right? Then that's perfect. We can have clear skies all the way out of the Glacial Corridor. Once we get too far from the Glacial Overflow Phenomenon, the hurricane should obviously dissipate on its own."
"Oh!" Sure enough, Rean's idea was much more welcomed and even excited their group due to its prospects. "Let's give it a try then!"
Yet, out of nowhere, a pair of ice claws appeared behind them, taking them all by surprise.
