Chapter 3393: At the Center
Chapter 3393: At the Center
Once he heard it, Rean sent his sense into the Dimensional Realm. There, in the gap connecting the outside and inside worlds, the Seal was barking.
*Ort, ort, ort, ort, ort...*
It's astral body shined every time it did, seemingly interacting with something outside.
"Shit..." Rean quickly took his attention back to his group. "Everyone, check that weird seal in your Pocket Dimensional Realms."
They didn't know why Rean asked that, but they all sent their senses into their Pocket Dimensional Realms. Sure enough, at the gap between the outside and inside, they noticed the Waterdog Seal barking nonstop as it shined every time it did. "It is... barking? Barking at what?"
"As I thought..." Rean nodded. "Casper, change of direction. Follow my instructions and fly as fast as you can."
Kentucky didn't ask anything and quickly changed his flight direction. In the next moment, he flapped his wings with all his strength and shot like a bullet into the distance.
At the same time, Rean took out his weapon, starting to attack any of those deep blue freezing lights that tried to hit Kentucky. "Help me keep Casper safe."
Gram, Duleti, and Farlo were still confused. Nonetheless, they also got up and took out their weapons. Together with Rean, they attacked the Freezing Lights, which seemed to be increasing in frequency for some reason.
*Bang, bang, bang...*
*Zli, zli, zli... Zli, zli, zli... Zli, zli, zli...*
They all used their energy to perform long-range attacks, making sure they wouldn't touch it. Every time their attacks collided with those lights, enormous chunks of ice and extremely concentrated freezing energy formed at the clashing points. Then, they began to fall from the air, disappearing into the deep blue clouds below.
Inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, Roan kept absorbing Divine Energy from the Divine Stones, sending it all into Kentucky and Rean's bodies. He also watched the things happening outside, annoyed that he couldn't go out to try to deal with the situation. "Can you two hold?"
Rean answered straight away. 'It should be fine. What about Rifindio, Sister Orb, and Zangeshu?'
Roan checked on them as Rean was busy outside. 'Rifindio isn't of much help since he knows nothing about seals. Sister Orb and Zangeshu, however, are trying to come up with a way to get rid of that Waterdog Seal. It seems like every time it barks and its body shines, some of its energy ends up inside the Dimensional Realm. Sister Orb is capturing it all while Zangeshu is analyzing it.'
Rean nodded, and he wanted to check as well. Too bad it wasn't the time to try such a thing. Still, he had an idea of what to do, so he sent Zangeshu a message very quickly. 'Zangeshu, the trick is most likely in the gap between the inside and outside. Sister Orb can't do anything to the Waterdog because it is not inside the Dimensional Realm. Of course, the Waterdog Seal is not outside, either. That's what Sister Orb said. Yet, that Waterdog Seal seems able to interact with the outside world, and I believe it is responsible for the situation befalling us right now.'
'I told you to try to find a way to send something outside and get past the Waterdog or even get rid of it. This time, however, I want you to try to interact with that gap between the inside and outside worlds. How can the Waterdog stay there, block it, and still have its energy interact with both sides? Try to think about it and see if you can come up with a way to get past the Seal.'
Zangeshu narrowed his eyes, pondering a bit about what Rean spoke. 'Intervene with the gap between the inside and outside, uh...?' Then, an idea appeared in his mind, and he turned in Sister Orb's direction. "Sister Orb, give me all the energy you collected from the Waterdog."
Sister Orb complied, making all that energy appear in front of Zangeshu. [Here you go. What do you have in mind?]
Zangeshu looked at the Waterdog and snorted. "Hmph! Since at least that thing's energy can get past the gap, why not use it to get out? Give me some time. I'm going to make a simple teleport formation using this energy as fuel. It might just work..."
Back outside, Gram and the others began to grow even more worried. The increase in those deep blue freezing lights was constant, and it already reached a point where it was impossible for them to fend off alone. They only managed to do so because they were all working together. "Marvin, this is not going well. We should flee from this place, not go further in!"
Rean shook his head. "It will be meaningless. You will see it soon."
The Glacial Decay Runes increased more and more in quantity, although their numbers didn't matter with Rean's runes acting as they were designed. But that was also a sign they were getting closer and closer to the center of the Airstream, which no one there liked. Let alone the fact of the increasing danger of those deep blue freezing lights.
Suddenly, the winds increased drastically, putting everyone on their back foot. "Marvin, we are going to die here! Tell Casper to fly the other way!"
"There is no need," Rean faintly smiled after deflecting another one of those deep blue freezing lights. "We have arrived."
*Zup!*
Out of nowhere, all the wind stopped, the Glacial Decay Runes began to fall behind, and the deep blue clouds completely dissipated in front of them. The impossible seemed to happen as the skies opened and the light of the day touched everyone's bodies.
"This..." They all looked behind, impressed to see the sea of danger growing further and further away. "Are we... out of the Glacial Corridor?"
"Out? Hahaha!" Rean laughed at that comment. "We couldn't be any more inside. This, my friends, is the eye of the storm. The Glacial Decay Airstream wasn't just that this time. Instead, it was a hurricane, and we are at the very center of it."
