Chapter 401 - 352: A Grandmaster Takes Action, the Celestial Net Saintess

"How can there be so many? And all those inspections we did before? Were they all for nothing?!"

Upon hearing the news, Xue Kunsheng’s expression changed drastically as he questioned them aloud.

Including the most recent blasts, the number of explosions within the town had reached over a dozen! This number far exceeded Xue Kunsheng’s expectations.

The spies and sleeper agents of these Evil Dao scoundrels were hidden far deeper than he had ever imagined!

By now, further questioning was pointless.

In all the years Beicang Town was being built, it had probably become as porous as a sieve in places they couldn’t see. Who knows how many people with ill intentions had slipped in.

"Dispatch the elites from the Garrison Commandant’s Office to provide immediate reinforcements. Have the current patrolmen guard every Pass and maintain order. Seal the town’s entrances and exits. The elites at the checkpoints must not move—don’t fall for a ploy to lure the tiger from the mountain. Guard those gates with your lives!"

Xue Kunsheng quickly calmed himself and began issuing orders in a methodical manner.

’Since all the spies and sleeper agents in town have revealed themselves, I might as well use this chance to wipe them all out in one fell swoop! It’ll save me the trouble of hunting them down one by one later!’

’Seal the exits and it’ll be like shooting fish in a barrel!’

’Once the situation in the town is under control, not a single one of these scoundrels will escape!’

The town’s patrol and garrison forces held an absolute advantage. These villains were in no position to challenge them. As long as they could get through the initial chaos, it was only a matter of time before the dispatched elites arrived on the scene and brought the situation under control.

"Yes, sir!" Liu Gongxi acknowledged and departed. He had to order the various departments to carry out Xue Kunsheng’s orders.

...

’It’s chaos!’

The auction hall was in turmoil, with disturbances breaking out everywhere. The chaos wasn’t just confined to the auction site, but extended outside the Blessed Land as well. The pandemonium from outside spilled into the crowd, turning an already chaotic scene into utter bedlam.

It was obvious that a situation like this had been planned long in advance. Moreover, all sorts of shadowy figures who had been lurking in the dark began to reveal themselves, adding fuel to the already blazing fire.

’I have to get out of here first!’ Chen Ping’an decided in an instant. He glanced warily at the private boxes above him, suppressing the urge to smash through a window and jump straight to the first floor.

He walked out of the private box and hurried downstairs.

....

On the other side of Chen Ping’an’s private box stood a mountain of a man, eight feet tall, with a body that looked as if it were cast from iron. From the moment the auction ended, he had been watching Chen Ping’an’s box.

So, when Chen Ping’an emerged from the box, the man spotted him instantly.

’He’s finally out!’

A cruel smile appeared on Iron Tower Demon Luo’s face.

The sudden chaos at the auction was exactly what he wanted. If things had remained calm, it would have been difficult for him to make a move.

But now...

It was the perfect time to kill for treasure!

SWOOSH!

Iron Tower Demon Luo concealed his aura, his figure flashing as he quickly gave chase.

His frame was burly and solid, making him seem incredibly cumbersome, but in truth, his speed was not the least bit slow.

The very fact that he was on the Dragon and Tiger Chart meant he was a well-rounded fighter with no obvious weaknesses, merely areas of greater or lesser strength.

....

Chen Ping’an was fast, and he quickly reached the first floor of the auction hall. The crowd was a shoving mass, and the air was filled with roars and screams. On top of that, the powerful sounds of combat echoed all around.

The crowd surged, a scene of utter chaos!

Weaving through the crowd, Chen Ping’an happened to witness the methods of Xue Kunsheng and his Vajra Demon-subduing Chain firsthand. True Qi billowed around him, his Gold and Silver Dual Chains coiling and shaking in unison. With every flash of his form and every flick of the silver chain, a life was taken.

’Not bad,’ Chen Ping’an thought, glancing over before quickly looking away. ’The priority is still to get out of here. I’ve basically accomplished my goal for this trip; there’s no need to stick around and take unnecessary risks.’

’Gu Qingchan of the Ice Soul Divine Needle! Xue Shishun of the Seven Luminaries Vein-Sealing Hand! Wang Xu of the Fiery Sun Palm! Zuo Jia Dao of the Nether Divine Fist!...’

’My combat strength might be on par with a Grandmaster, but there’s more than just one Grandmaster here right now! I just sensed at least five of them, if not more!’

’Just the thought of that many Grandmasters is enough to make my skin crawl!’

’Without sufficient incentive, I have no reason to stay here. Rather than take risks right under the noses of all these Grandmasters, I’d be better off checking out other parts of the town to see if I can’t fish in these troubled waters!’

’Ahem... I mean, I should go suppress these Evil Dao scoundrels!’

’How dare they cause chaos in Beicang! It’s like they have no respect for me, Mang Blade, the rising star of the Garrison Commandant’s Office!’

’Er, okay.’

’I’m using a different identity right now! It’s probably not appropriate for me to be saying that.’

’But whether it’s appropriate or not, it won’t stop me from performing a righteous deed.’

True Qi surged around Chen Ping’an as he rushed toward the exit. Amid the chaos, he caught sight of Liu Ziming, who was retreating from the auction hall under the protection of the Liu Family Elders.

A hint of panic was visible on Liu Ziming’s face. A prodigy he might be, but he was still just a youth. Though he’d been through his share of trials, he had never experienced a scene of this magnitude.

Every great tree grows strong and sturdy by weathering the wind and rain day after day.

The situation was even more chaotic than Chen Ping’an had anticipated. Not just inside the hall but outside as well, the number of experts who had come out of the woodwork was far greater than expected.

Not all of these people were scoundrels from the Evil and Demon Dao; a large portion were simply opportunists looking to fish in troubled waters. Anyone who makes a living on the Trade Routes, traveling far and wide, is used to living with their life on the line. Their nerve is far greater than that of any ordinary person.
