Chapter 248: Chapter 1139: Secrets of Profound Yellow, Mystery of the Celestial Waterfall
Although there had been portents of the Demon Sect’s emergence in the Divine Continent, the major orthodox sects didn’t seem to have any intention of working together to suppress it. It was as if the orthodox and demonic paths weren’t locked in some life-or-death struggle.
He had thought the Demon Sect’s appearance might cause some resource disputes and disciple skirmishes. He never expected the Bone Sect to clash with the Celestial Abyss Sect the moment they emerged, possibly even provoking a battle between Primordial Spirit True Men.
Xuzhuang mulled it over. His intuition told him this was all rather strange.
The destructive power of a battle between Primordial Spirit True Men was on a completely different level from that of Nascent Soul Cultivators. Never mind the legend of the Western Continent being sunk by such a clash—the apocalyptic power of the battle between Master Yuanhua and Master Xuanhu in the cosmos was still seared into Xuzhuang’s memory.
Hearing Xuzhuang’s question, the Immoral Taoist unexpectedly replied, "Well, while it is a bit hasty, it’s not that hard to understand... Hmm, I don’t really know how to explain it to you. You’ll find out when you’re supposed to."
The Immoral Taoist’s words implied that the conflict between the orthodox and demonic paths in the Profound Yellow Realm—or rather, the Divine Continent—had a much deeper cause. Hearing this, Xuzhuang couldn’t help but sink into thought.
The Immoral Taoist seemed a bit awkward seeing him like this. He scratched his face and muttered, "This Celestial Waterfall Realm doesn’t seem all that special after all. Oh well, it’s best not to linger."
Xuzhuang had just pushed his thoughts aside when these words caught his attention. He couldn’t help but ask, "Back when we were at the Tai Su Sect, I got curious. Zhenren, you seem rather wary of the Celestial Waterfall Realm. Is there something special about this place?"
"Well..." The Immoral Taoist tugged vigorously at his messy beard. "There’s no point in talking too much, but I don’t need to be deliberately mysterious, either. The truth is, I also don’t know what’s so special about the Celestial Waterfall Realm."
"But while this realm is a bit remote, it’s not some uniquely perilous place in the cosmos. There’s a reason it has almost no contact with the outside world."
Xuzhuang nodded at his words, listening intently.
The Immoral Taoist said, "For one... an ordinary realm should have a complete and natural order. This one is different; it’s very strange." He pointed upward as he finished speaking.
Xuzhuang’s heart skipped a beat, and he nodded thoughtfully. ’The way the ’Celestial Waterfall’ of the Celestial Waterfall Realm operates really doesn’t conform to the normal principles of nature.’
The Immoral Taoist continued, "And for another, this Celestial Waterfall Realm has an owner. Cultivators like me who have reached the Primordial Spirit stage can roam the Star River, but it’s still not proper to casually barge into someone else’s territory."
Xuzhuang frowned slightly at his words. "An Earth Immortal Ancestor Grandmaster?" he asked.
The Immoral Taoist nodded. "That’s right."
Though not native to this realm, Xuzhuang deeply admired the merit of an Earth Immortal Ancestor Grandmaster who spread the Dao and enlightened the beings of an entire realm. He couldn’t help but ask, "Zhenren, have you heard this Earth Immortal Ancestor Grandmaster’s title? Do you know who this venerable figure is?"
"Don’t know," the Immoral Taoist replied matter-of-factly. He then broke into a grin. "But you should understand that in this world, not just anyone can bear the title of ’Immortal.’ Anyone who dares to claim it is by no means a simple character."
Xuzhuang was taken aback. "A Celestial Immortal?" he asked.
"Don’t know," the Immoral Taoist repeated, though this time he shook his head. "Alright, I just came to check on you and give you a heads-up. The Purple-Blue Pearl Fruit will be ripe in twelve years. Don’t forget."
Before Xuzhuang could respond, he swayed and vanished without a trace.
