This was the third call from her father since the police took her parents and two younger sisters away last time!

During her final two weeks of pregnancy, every Monday night, she would receive his call punctually; this was the third, and it was Monday, only now it was in the morning!

When she received the second call, she was much calmer! Toward her father’s concern, she wouldn’t express joy, nor would she show disgust; she would just respond perfunctorily in a formal manner!

Now it’s the third call! Although she couldn’t see her father’s expression through the phone, she could still hear the care in his words! Whether genuine or fake, it didn’t matter to her; she would still act as she should!

Apparently not sensing Ling Yueyue’s cold attitude, Ling’s father continued his caring conversation, "You must rest well; I’m telling you, a woman must take good care of her health during confinement; otherwise, it will leave long-term issues! You’ll suffer in old age!"

Ling Yueyue answered indifferently, "I know, there are plenty of servants at home, taking great care of me!"

Ling’s father replied with satisfaction, "That’s right, Mr. Huo takes such good care of you, and the family is so wealthy; you don’t need to do anything, just focus on recuperating well! Is the child well-behaved?"

Throughout the conversation, Ling Yueyue didn’t show much interest, only responding to Ling’s father’s words in a standard manner!

On the contrary, Ling’s father seemed to have endless things to say after Ling Yueyue gave birth, not only reminding her to rest well but also asking about many things regarding the baby, even though Ling Yueyue always responded perfunctorily without enthusiasm, Ling’s father kept talking for a long time!

Until Ling Yueyue sluggishly spoke, "I’m tired and want to rest now!"

Although knowing full well that Ling Yueyue was uninterested in talking with him, Ling’s father was not angry at all, instead happily said, "Alright, alright, look at me, your giving birth made me so happy that I forgot to let you rest and tired you out! I’ll hang up for now, rest well, take care, and I’ll call you in a few days!"

"Mmm!" Ling Yueyue responded blandly and hung up before Ling’s father!

Looking at the phone screen that had gone black, Ling Yueyue felt slightly lost.

Perhaps it had been too long, or perhaps she was used to her parents’ indifference and lack of care, so now facing her father’s sudden concern, she didn’t feel happy or excited, instead felt at a loss, quite uncomfortable.
