Chapter 854 – Small talk

Moon Aiko yawned while stretching. Mei was still asleep peacefully, probably still drained.

'Should I wait or go?' Moon Aiko tilted her head. She wanted to explore this place while not being chased by Mei. That way, she would be able to give them some ideas and possibly improve the whole set.

'The Nightmare Owl Clan is also waiting.' Moon Aiko nodded her head. Were they called like that? She didn't remember, but they were now.

'He was quite cute.' Moon Aiko smacked her lips. The Nightmare Owl was quite cute, especially when it trembled or was astonished.

'I wonder how their Ancestral Beast acts...' Moon Aiko narrowed her eyes. There was only 'one' Ancestral Beast left and even that one would be converted through ripping up the Contract.

Moon Aiko laid down on her back, watching the ceiling that was still unfinished.

However, it told a story, which Aiko found fascinating and concerning.

'That's not me, right?' Moon Aiko pursed her lips. She definitely didn't look like an eccentric monster, right...?

She, in fact, looked like an eccentric monster. Especially to those that saw her shenanigans.

Moon Aiko waited for a while to see if Mei would wake up, but seeing her still in deep sleep, she wanted to leave.

Suddenly, Moon Aiko was pulled back down and onto soft pillows.

"That's bad manners." Mei murmured, with still sleepy eyes.

"..." Moon Aiko wanted to say that she was bored and wanted to do some experiments, but holding her tongue in would probably be best for her survival.

She withheld her thoughts, just staring at Mei.

"Ugh... Why do you have so much energy." Mei grumbled. She was concerned about her future with this little demoness, but she already made her choice, so now she would have slept in it.

"Because I have Solar Qi?" Moon Aiko thought that was the only logical explanation, since she lost the need for energy once Sun Aiko appeared in full glory. From then on, the powerful Solar Qi sustained her Stamina, making it pretty much limitless.

"Ugh..." Mei groaned. She was aware that most would be affected by extreme Qi, but she didn't expect to be this severe.

That was probably because she never encountered them in person for long enough that she would understand what those rumours were about.

Most those with Solar Qi usually had endless energy. Those with Ocean Qi had mellow personalities and were not easily angered. Those with Mountain Qi were stubborn and hard to deal with and so on.

'At least Aiko doesn't have any Glacial Qi.' Mei's face tightened. Glacial Qi was known to be cold, even to her partners, making them difficult in relationships.

However, Moon Aiko did have some Glacial Qi in her, but because she had more than one extreme Qi, it was somewhat balanced.

A perfect balance would have to be maintained, so the harmony wouldn't crumble.

Harmony in this case was not much about balance, but about the ability to be able to suppress each other.

A carefully maintained balance through the constant pushing and pulling.

"Are you alright?" Moon Aiko tilted her head. Her impassive face would sometimes appear, but it would mostly melt away thanks to, possibly, the Solar Qi.

"No." Mei said flatly as her body ached. She wanted to be dominant, but how was she supposed to do that when the other side had more energy?

Sure, foreplay was a thing, but if she overdid it, Aiko would sulk and cry, which was not something Mei would want.

"Oh..." Moon Aiko seemed surprised and mulled over this.

"Well, it's not something you have to fret over too much." Mei chuckled. This was wholly her problem to deal with and while Aiko might be able to help her, Mei would feel pretty pathetic if that happened.

'No wonder that Danji is not in too much hurry...' Mei clicked her tongue inwardly. She was upset that she didn't realise that Danji was playing the long game.

"Shall we go outside?" Moon Aiko kept staring at Mei, who was deep in thought.

"Like this?" Mei's lips twitched. If she went out now, she would be limping like a wounded dog.

"I can carry you?" Moon Aiko raised her eyebrow. Mei was never this uncooperative before so Aiko was startled.

"No." Mei's flat denial startled Aiko. 'My pride would be hurt beyond recovery...'

"Oh..." Moon Aiko seemed both confused and sad, but there was nothing that Mei could say without feeling embarrassed.

Mei pursed her lips. Her mind never worked as quickly as it was doing right now. She was trying to formulate a sentence when she felt a sharp bite on her inner bosom.

There, Moon Aiko was pouting, trying to make her presence known.

Mei pursed her lips. It seems like she would have to go out covered, not that it was a good thing. The Clothier was making quite nice clothes, thanks to all of Aiko's ideas and some of them even covered the neck for some reason. And coincidentally, that thing was quite popular with the Demonic Foxes.

She weakly lifted her hand. She still felt kind of heavy, but still patted Aiko to soothe her.

"Hmpf." Moon Aiko swished her tails while she was pouting, but her ears were swaying left to right, clearly enjoying the caress.

'We will need a bigger bed...' Looking at Aiko's tails, Mei pondered if that was even possible. If her calculations were correct, Aiko would be able to obtain 20 tails. She would pretty much become a ball of walking tails, but maybe there was a way to prevent that...?

Seeing Aiko just about to bite her again, Mei quickly pulled candy out of her Spatial Ring and placed it into her mouth.

*Nom*

That seemed to do the trick for a while, but maybe it was a better idea to let Aiko run wild.

'It's already a miracle that I woke up while Aiko was still here. Considering her energy, she must've been very bored...' Mei pursed her lips again. Having an energetic partner had its issues, but Mei would figure things out as she went.

*Nom*

Prepared with another candy, she prevented another bite mark on her bosom. It was hard to control Aiko when she was sulking, so it was time...

"You can go now, cause some trouble." Getting rid of that energy was the first thing that Mei came up with.

"Oho~" Moon Aiko smirked. She never thought that she would be permitted to cause trouble from Mei.

Moon Aiko wanted to bite Mei one last time, but she was prevented again.

Sulking while noming on the Candy Pills, she quickly left the bed.

"Oh, but don't cause too much trouble for Nightmare Owls, those guys are nice, but are quite on the edge after you disappeared." Mei added this, since she might cause another war to break out.

Moon Aiko paused between the open doors. "No promises." She smiled mischievously before she disappeared.

"Will it be alright...?" Mei asked nobody, but she was still concerned. "Ah, whatever. I just want to rest." She gave up thinking about it, solving it shouldn't be an issue with so many allies.

Moon Aiko closed the doors.

'What just happened?!' She didn't think about it before, but the assertive Mei was kind of hot. 'Whoa... Slu- Witch Aiko is really a bad influence.' She nodded her head repeatedly before turning around.

"Would you like some tea?" There, Danji was waiting for her.

Moon Aiko froze for a moment. 'The room is soundproof, right?'

"I didn't hear anything." Danji elaborated, seeing Aiko's expression.

'Ah, what the hell, she can read my mind too?!' Moon Aiko panicked.

"I can't read your mind." Danji shook her head.

"Ah, as if." Moon Aiko pouted at her.

"I really can't." Danji pursed her lips. 'You are just easy to read when in a good mood.' She already knew what happened even without hearing anything. On one hand, she was happy that Aiko was happy, but on another, she was concerned that Mei would really try to monopolise Aiko.

'Aiko is for everyone. If she knew that there is also a cult, Mei might flip out.' Danji smiled discreetly, but she was looking forward to what that cult would do later.

"..." Moon Aiko kept gazing at her suspiciously.

"Tea?" Danji just smiled at her back.

"Fine." It appeared that Moon Aiko was sulking, but nibbling on the Candy Pill, she was quite happy.

Moon Aiko sat around a table. They were in the deeper parts of the ship, still unfinished. However, thanks to the hull, the privacy was quite nice.

"Aren't you worried that they might barricade us in?" Moon Aiko narrowed her eyes.

"The inside part of the 'hull' will be made of metal mesh to make it more breathable. And the part between the hull and mesh will be filled with Runes and Qi to make it more sturdy." Danji explained.

"You know a lot." Moon Aiko was clearly surprised.

'As your retainer, maid and lover, I should know at least this much.' However, Danji didn't voice her thoughts. She thought there was no need to as Dark Aiko already approved of her.

"Then what about the hallways?" Moon Aiko wanted to know her opinion.

"There is a need for a second floor or at least a pathway. If they all jump over each other, there will be instances they might bump into each other and while most Foxes here are mellow thanks to you, there is still a possibility of conflict. Reducing that possibility should also be our priority." Danji voiced her opinion as Aiko wanted. She found talking with White Aiko too stiff, but when it came to knowledge it was undeniable.

"I think that is a good idea, but why not include more rooms?" Moon Aiko tilted her head, thinking about it.

"The second pathway acting as support for the second row of rooms?" Danji paused. In theory, that would be possible, but how would it work with all the Inscriptions and Arrays?

"I will ask the Rune Saint later." Danji didn't call him his name because... 'Aiko already called him by so many nicknames that I'm not sure which one is his real name...' She quivered inside every time Aiko came up with a new nickname, and it was quite troublesome as every nickname was more memorable than his actual name!

'Phew...' Danji would have to work on that later, but just remembering their titles should be enough for now.

"The tea is nice." Moon Aiko marvelled.

Danji chose more mellow tea, with no poison or additives. She understood that White Aiko liked simpler things and Dark Aiko loved more elaborate things.

As for Sun Aiko...

'It would be a miracle if she didn't knock the teacup down.' Danji didn't have the best impression of her...
