Chapter 898 - 974: Dao Yuanzi (Part 2)
"Buzz!"
Zuoqiu Yiren’s brow became increasingly bright.
Shhhh!
Just then, the space beside Chen Mo suddenly ripped open with a tearing sound, revealing a graceful figure who stepped through the breach. As the figure appeared, a formidable presence immediately descended, causing the Dragon Race strongmen to turn pale instantly, while the three rushing forward - Ao Kai and his companions - froze abruptly, their faces quickly awash with shock.
The figure appeared, and a slightly lazy laugh echoed throughout the heavens and earth.
"It seems I didn’t arrive too late."
Although the voice sounded lazy, the pressure contained within made everyone’s True Qi slightly hindered at this moment.
"Master Dao Yuanzi."
Seeing the young man in a daoist robe, Ice Spirit immediately smiled.
For this person was precisely the Sect Leader of the Celestial Heart Sect, Dao Yuanzi, who once accompanied her to the East Sea Shore.
Zuoqiu Yiren’s purple light faded from her brow; she knew that Dao Yuanzi’s arrival meant she didn’t have to use that move.
She cupped her hands towards Dao Yuanzi, "Elder."
"Elder." Li Yunchang beside her also swiftly cupped his hands and bowed, as this was a Sect Leader level figure, a Mahayana Realm Cultivator capable of crushing Unity Realm experts with a single finger.
Li Yunchang then hurriedly explained the reason for not offering help.
In short, it was all due to the Dragon Race’s pressure.
Upon seeing Dao Yuanzi’s arrival, Luo Yuan felt disheartened rather than happy.
Dao Yuanzi’s appearance indicated that the crisis was about to be resolved.
His standing by idly might become known to the Daoist Alliance, an action that would be despised by onlookers despite the current circumstances justifying such choices.
He stepped forward and bowed to Dao Yuanzi, trying to recover some favor: "Master Dao Yuanzi, the Dragon Race meant harm to Brother Chen. We’re fortunate you arrived; otherwise, we would be in grave trouble, likely exterminated by the Dragon Race."
"Oh, really?" Dao Yuanzi’s eyes lifted lightly, scanning the three members of Ao Kai’s group.
Facing a Daoist Alliance elder, Ao Kai and the others remained somewhat firm, but that firmness evaporated faster than anything when it came to a Cultivator at the Sect Leader level.
The three quickly exchanged glances, their True Qi surging explosively to forcibly break the frozen space, their figures flashing as they attempted to retreat violently.
"Slap!"
Yet as they just began to move, Dao Yuanzi casually flicked his robe sleeve, his large hand smacking down through the distant space, leaving everyone stunned as they saw a loud, crisp sound erupt on Ao Kai and the others’ faces, a blood-red palm print appearing on their cheeks.
"Pffft!"
With that slap, Ao Kai and the others spat out blood, their bodies flung back forcefully, ultimately crashing into the ground harshly under many horrified gazes, the immense force creating three huge pits.
"Hiss."
Watching the trio lying in the pits, covered in blood, everyone drew a sharp breath, while the other Dragon Race powerhouses’ faces were slick with cold sweat, utterly shocked that the three couldn’t even withstand a mere slap from Dao Yuanzi.
"Is this the strength of a Mahayana Realm Cultivator?"
Chen Mo, witnessing this scene, couldn’t help but click his tongue, his heart relieved now that his life was preserved.
"Yiren, are you alright?" Chen Mo noticed Zuoqiu Yiren’s pale complexion and hurried to check on her.
"I’m fine." Zuoqiu Yiren shook her head, as she had forcibly halted her casting, inevitably sustaining harm, but she didn’t tell Chen Mo.
"Yiren, promise not to do such foolish things next time. If something happens to you, I’d never forgive myself," Chen Mo transmitted.
Heeding those words, Zuoqiu Yiren felt warmth in her heart and nodded.
"Does the Celestial Heart Sect intend to declare war on the Dragon Race?" Ao Kai, blood on the corners of his mouth, climbed from the pit with a sullen face, looking at Dao Yuanzi in mid-air.
It was said that striking someone’s face was the ultimate insult; Ao Kai and the others weren’t mere juniors, having lived for thousands of years. Being slapped in front of others was a significant blow to their dignity as powerhouses.
This humiliation exceeded the physical pain they currently endured.
"Don’t always babble about ’war.’ The Celestial Heart Sect and the Daoist Alliance are united; if true war breaks out, can your Dragon Race win? Stop bluffing," Dao Yuanzi entirely disregarded Ao Kai’s words, saying, "Besides, your claim doesn’t count, unless Ao Yingtian personally makes such a statement."
Ao Yingtian is currently the leader of the Dragon Race.
Upon hearing this, Ao Kai’s face turned alternately blue and white, his fists clenched tightly, then pointing at Chen Mo, said: "The Daoist Alliance can protect him temporarily but not forever. Those who sully our Dragon Race by cultivating our forbidden Divine Techniques must die."
Chen Mo furrowed his brows.
Dao Yuanzi laughed, "Isn’t it just having cultivated your Dragon Race’s True Dragon Treasure Skill? Do you need to be so petty and constantly pursue him?
The Daoist Alliance indeed can’t protect him forever, but just safeguarding him temporarily is sufficient. I advise you to abandon your murderous intent towards him; with his Three Immortal Body, attaining immortality is only a matter of time. When that happens, the Dragon Race will suffer losses."
Ao Kai glanced at Chen Mo; though unwilling to acknowledge Dao Yuanzi’s words, they were indeed true.
Generally, anyone with an Immortal Body, unless they fall midway, can achieve immortality.
A Three Immortal Body makes it a certainty.
This is precisely why the Dragon Race aims to deal with Chen Mo before he attains such status.
The Dragon Race, after all, was the absolute overlord of ancient times.
With the illustrious history of their ancestors, the Dragon Race places exceptional importance on their image.
Moreover.
Chen Mo is the first human to successfully cultivate the True Dragon Treasure Skill, undoubtedly using a special method.
Without the Dragon Race bloodline, it’s impossible to cultivate the True Dragon Treasure Skill.
The Dragon Race fears Chen Mo will spread this method, allowing everyone access to their True Dragon Treasure Skill, posing a massive threat to them.
But with Dao Yuanzi present, they undoubtedly can’t do anything to Chen Mo now.
The three exchanged glances, feeling disheartened.
The situation had finally come under control.
"Are you all alright?" Dao Yuanzi then turned, directing his gaze towards Chen Mo and the others with a smile.
Chen Mo and his companions shook their heads.
"Then let’s go." Dao Yuanzi didn’t kill Ao Kai and his companions or anything.
Because if he did, the Dragon Race would choose war no matter what.
The Daoist Alliance didn’t wish for war yet; thus, Dao Yuanzi opted merely to punish them.
"Wait a minute, Elder," Chen Mo said.
"What’s the matter?" Dao Yuanzi paused, valuing Chen Mo, given his Three Immortal Body.
"We have two missing individuals: one is Daoist Alliance’s Core Disciple Mu Qianqian, and the other is Joyful Union Sect’s Saintess Su Mengyan," Chen Mo explained.
"Joyful Union Sect’s Saintess?" Dao Yuanzi raised an eyebrow, studying Chen Mo for a while with a significant look before closing his eyes in contemplation.
After a moment, Dao Yuanzi said: "They are trapped in a spatial vortex, likely swept in by residual arrays."
Dao Yuanzi then divided a Spirit Body, which entered the void, soon emerging from it, grasping two disheveled women by their hands.
"Are you okay?" Chen Mo inquired.
The two women blushed, unable to hide their embarrassment.
After entering the labyrinthine passage, they accidentally triggered a residual array, transporting them into a spatial vortex, and despite trying everything, they couldn’t escape.
Given their strength, they couldn’t tear open a Spatial Channel within such a vortex.
Had Dao Yuanzi not saved them, they might have been trapped forever.
Su Mengyan briefly explained to Chen Mo, then scanned Ao Kai and his group with puzzled eyes: "Brother, who are they?"
"It’s a long story; I’ll explain when we return," Chen Mo replied, knowing this wasn’t the place to speak further.
