Chapter 2656: Drill(3)
Shortly after the real drill began and the Celestial Beings started pouring down from the sky, Yuan made the first move, unleashing a barrage of Limitless at the massive horde still descending.
Since this was now a group effort, he no longer had any reason to hold back.

In the blink of an eye, Yuan tripled his points by defeating all of the weaker Celestial Beings first.
"This guy is truly outrageous!"
The other soldiers stared at Yuan with wide eyes, their expressions filled with shock.
Yuan ignored them completely and shot into the sky, charging straight toward the sea of Celestial Beings as though he intended to take on the entire army by himself.
"What the hell is he doing?!"
"Does he intend to fight them all by himself?! That’s ridiculous!"
"He’s clearly just trying to show off, but at this rate, he’ll only get himself killed and removed from the drill early," one of the soldiers said.
"Yeah. Let’s stop paying attention to him and focus on ourselves. This may only be a drill, but our performance here can have a huge impact on our chances of promotion, especially if you’re aiming to become an officer!"
However, Yuan wasn’t the only soldier charging toward the Celestial Beings. Several others were doing the same, most of them being experienced soldiers and officers. Meanwhile, the newer soldiers and those less confident in their abilities remained behind. Of course, these soldiers made up the majority of the military.
"That guy..."
Not too far away, in Sector 1, Ironwoman spotted Yuan ahead of her, immediately igniting her competitive spirit.
Ever since discovering Yuan and his overwhelming talent, she had wanted to compete with him. However, the difference in their ranks and cultivation had never given her a proper opportunity to do so—until now.
Meanwhile, the Celestial Beings did not simply wait for the soldiers to attack. They immediately bombarded everyone approaching with a massive wave of Limitless that spread outward like an enormous wall, leaving no room to evade normally.
Although Yuan could have avoided the attack using Void Manipulation, he chose to confront it head-on. With a slash of his arm, he unleashed a wave of Limitless infused with Supreme Sword Aura and a small trace of Eternal Essence.
A sword light flickered into existence and collided with the massive wall of Limitless. The two forces remained locked against each other for a good moment before Yuan’s attack finally broke through, slicing the wall cleanly in half and splitting the torrent of energy in two.
The scene shocked all of the soldiers watching, their jaws dropping wide open.
After breaking through the Celestial Beings’ attack, Yuan immediately used Void Manipulation to close the distance in an instant.
However, instead of confronting the army from the front, he teleported directly into the heart of their formation, deliberately allowing himself to be surrounded.
Despite Yuan’s unexpected actions, the Celestial Beings showed no visible reaction and calmly attacked him.
Not wanting to go overboard with his performance, Yuan kept his use of Eternal Essence to a bare minimum, relying on it only to defend against particularly dangerous attacks and never using it offensively.
Instead, he used Supreme Sword Aura and Limitless, which was already more than enough to deal with many of the Celestial Beings there.

Yuan’s points skyrocketed thanks to his bold and aggressive strategy, nearly doubling within mere moments.
Seeing this, Ironwoman unleashed her full cultivation. The power of her ninth-level Seventh Ascension cultivation instantly swept across the area, causing even the air itself to tremble.
Once she reached the Celestial Beings and began fighting them, her points also rose rapidly. However, her pace was nowhere near Yuan’s. Despite having a much lower cultivation, Yuan was defeating the Celestial Beings far faster than she was.
Of course, the Ironwoman didn’t know this, as she was too focused on the Celestial Beings to pay attention to Yuan, much less count his kills.
Time passed, and although Yuan was constantly defeating and holding off hundreds of Celestial Beings on his own, they continued pouring endlessly from the eye-shaped slit in the sky.
Eventually, their sheer numbers overwhelmed the soldiers fighting in the air, allowing the Celestial Beings to reach the city and clash with the soldiers below.
It didn’t take long for the drill to erupt into a full-blown war, with over a hundred thousand beings locked in fierce combat at once. The once-peaceful city had transformed into a massive battlefield, with unimaginable destruction unfolding in every corner.
However, the Celestial Beings vastly outnumbered the soldiers, forcing nearly everyone to fight at least two enemies at once, while some had to contend with three or more.
Faced with such overwhelming numbers, it didn’t take long for the newer soldiers to realize the battle was unwinnable and defeat inevitable.
As for the veteran soldiers who had experienced the drill before, they were already well aware of this. In fact, throughout the history of the drills, the soldiers had never once succeeded in repelling the invasion.
It didn’t take long for the soldiers to start dying to the Celestial Beings, and within minutes, their numbers began dropping like flies.
Within an hour, nearly a quarter of the soldiers had already died and been removed from the drill. Whenever a soldier ’died’ in battle, they were automatically teleported to a separate area, where they would remain until the drill concluded.
By the end of the first day, only half of the 70,000 soldiers remained.
As for the Celestial Beings, their numbers only continued to grow, seemingly without end. Moreover, every newly spawned Celestial Being possessed a cultivation of at least the Fifth Ascension, meaning their forces were only growing stronger as the battle progressed, as the weaker ones no longer spawned.
The third day came and passed, and by the end, less than ten thousand soldiers remained.
