Chapter 2641: Void Hunter’s Appearance

The moment the Void Hunter appeared, its overwhelming presence engulfed the entire area like an impossibly heavy blanket, bearing down with the weight of several mountains. The soldiers watching Yuan immediately felt as though their bodies were on the verge of being crushed beneath the immense pressure.

The Void Hunter—the ultimate and apex predator of this world. Even if every force in the world united against it, they would still have no chance of victory. That was precisely why everyone had long since chosen to avoid it rather than fight.

"Did it just speak?" he mumbled to himself.

"Did... Did the Void Hunter just speak?!" The soldiers watching from afar were just as shocked as Yuan—if not even more so. None of them had ever heard of the Void Hunter being capable of speech.

"What are you?" Yuan decided to try talking to the Void Hunter.

"I am... life."

"I am... death."

"I am... eternity!"

A voice responded.

Then, without warning, the Void Hunter’s silhouette vanished into thin air.

Yuan instinctively pushed his senses to their absolute limit, but even then, he couldn’t detect the Void Hunter’s presence anywhere, as though it had truly disappeared from existence.

"Did it... leave?"

However, the moment those three words left Yuan’s mouth, the Void Hunter suddenly reappeared directly in front of him, standing no more than a single step away.

"?!"

Yuan immediately reacted, attempting to use Void Manipulation. However, before he could even activate it, a devastating punch slammed into his stomach, sending him flying into the distance.

Yuan quickly stabilized himself, coughing up a mouthful of blood afterward.

"They’re really going to fight!" Captain Heen exclaimed in a gleeful manner.

But the other soldiers were focused on something else entirely.

"D-Did he just survive a punch from the Void Hunter?!"

Of course, they weren’t referring to the sheer force behind the punch. Since the Void Hunter was classified as a Void Specter, it possessed the same terrifying ability as the rest of its kind—to kill anything it touched.

"This confirms it! There’s no way he’s human if he can survive being touched by a Void Specter!" Captain Heen said.

No human has ever survived a touch from Void Specters, especially not the Void Hunter, after all.

As annoying as Captain Heen was, the others had to agree with him on this matter.

"Unless the Void Hunter allowed him to live for some reason?" one of them suddenly muttered out loud.

"Why would it do that?"

"How would I know? It also spoke with him, and we never knew it could speak before!"

Meanwhile, Yuan unleashed his Eternal Essence to its absolute limit. After several months of relentless training, his Eternal Essence had grown tremendously, reaching an astonishing three trillion years.

Unfortunately, even that amount seemed insignificant before the Void Hunter.

The Void Hunter showed no reaction to Yuan’s Eternal Essence and simply stood there in silence.

Now that Yuan could finally observe it up close, he noticed that its body was composed of the same pitch-black substance as the other Void Specters. However, unlike them, it possessed a distinctly human figure and even appeared to be wearing a cloak, its hood concealing the shape of its face.

Suddenly, the Void Hunter moved, tapping its chest with one hand while beckoning Yuan forward with the other, clearly challenging him to attack.

"Won’t you look at this guy..." A cold smile tugged at Yuan’s lips.

The next moment, he struck without hesitation, pouring three trillion years’ worth of Eternal Essence into a single punch.

The Void Hunter remained perfectly still, making its intentions clear—that it intended to take the attack head-on.

When Yuan’s fist slammed into its body, a devastating ripple erupted from the point of impact, surging beyond the horizon and causing the entire world to tremble for a full second.

The soldiers watching from afar were instantly swept away by the overwhelming force of the ripple, their bodies sent tumbling through the air like trash caught in a violent storm.

As for the Void Hunter, despite taking Yuan’s punch directly, it wasn’t sent flying. In fact, it didn’t move even a single inch, as though its entire body were firmly rooted to the ground.

Yuan wasn’t too surprised that his attack had no effect on the Void Hunter. If anything, he had expected such an outcome from the start.

"Is it just me, or did you get weaker?" Yuan mocked it after spitting out a mouthful of blood.

The Void Hunter did not react to his provocation.

"You are not worthy," it repeated a moment later.

Then, its aura surged even higher.

"This bastard can still get stronger?!" Yuan gritted his teeth as the pressure bearing down on him became increasingly unbearable. At this point, the Void Hunter’s presence had already surpassed the power Deemo displayed during their battle in the past—the same power that defeated Tian Chenyu.

Yuan prepared for the worst when the Void Hunter started moving again.

However, Yuan was left dumbfounded when the Void Hunter simply walked past him, completely ignoring his presence.

"Where are you going?!" Yuan called out, feeling strangely offended by the dismissal.

But the Void Hunter offered no response. Instead, it suddenly shot into the distance at the speed of light.

"That direction... Don’t tell me it’s going after—!"

Yuan’s expression changed the moment he realized where the Void Hunter was headed, and he quickly chased after it.

Meanwhile, not too far away, the soldiers who had been blown away by the earlier shockwave had already decided to retreat.

"Let’s get out of here before the Void Hunter comes after us!"

"What about that humanoid Void Specter?!" Captain Heen shouted. "I need to confirm whether it’s dead!"

"If you want to stay behind and wait for the Void Hunter to kill you, then be our guest!" one of his own squad members shouted. "We’ve already confirmed the existence of the humanoid Void Specter. For now, we will return to the city and report everything we’ve learned so far!"

But before they could get far, an unfathomable presence suddenly descended upon them, pressing down on their bodies like a colossal mountain.

Unable to withstand the immense pressure, they plummeted from the sky and crashed heavily into the ground.

"T-This pressure! Don’t tell me the Void Hunter already defeated that humanoid Void Specter and is coming after us now!"

"It’s not coming after us! It’s already here!"

Sure enough, the Void Hunter appeared before them like a ghost, its existence seemingly materializing out of thin air.

The soldiers wanted to run, but the Void Hunter’s presence was so powerful that it distorted the very space around them, making Void Control impossible for them.

Then, with calm and unhurried movements, the Void Hunter approached one of the soldiers and lightly tapped him on the forehead.

The next instant, the soldier’s entire body disintegrated into nothingness.

Yuan arrived just in time to witness the scene, and his eyes narrowed when he saw the soldier disintegrate, as it was eerily similar to how his own affinity had killed a soldier before.

However, Yuan had no time to dwell on it, as the Void Hunter was already moving toward its next target.

"Stop!"

He charged at the Void Hunter and attacked with all his might, desperately trying to draw its attention away from the soldiers.

Yet, the Void Hunter completely ignored him and killed a second soldier.

Then a third... a fourth...

One after another, the soldiers vanished until only one remained.

"N-No! I don’t want to die!" Captain Heen cried out, tears and snot streaming down his face as terror overwhelmed him.

"Please... save me..."

Captain Heen stared desperately at Yuan as the Void Hunter’s finger slowly approached his forehead, resembling death’s scythe descending to claim his life.

But alas, there was nothing Yuan could do but watch as the Void Hunter claimed Captain Heen’s life.

After killing every last soldier, the Void Hunter finally turned to face Yuan.

"You are not worthy."

Yuan clenched his fists in irritation. The way it kept repeating those words reminded him of the entity he had encountered on the 46th floor of Endless Assault.

"What the hell do you want from me?" Yuan asked a moment later when it seemed to have no intention of fighting him anymore.
