Chapter 619: Chapter 32: Offering Herself

「Two days later.」

In the skies above a vast, boundless land within the Lingkong Celestial Ruins, Fang Cheng halted his Escape Light.

A vast expanse of land hundreds of thousands of miles across had sunken, creating a massive basin whose floor was a good thirty to forty thousand feet lower than the surrounding ground.

Across this land rose majestic mountains and steep ridges, interspersed with bottomless abysses and chasms. It was also littered with the skeletons of countless giant sea monsters and fish, as well as the ruins of numerous palaces and Cave Mansions.

Fang Cheng suspected this place had once been a vast, boundless ocean. He just didn’t know where the water had gone, leaving only this dry seabed.

Mountain-sized skeletons of giant sea monsters lay scattered across the seabed, painting a picture that was both desolate and magnificent.

Up ahead, a ghastly white mist shrouded the sky above the seabed. Within the mist, the sea monster skeletons seemed to possess some kind of Spiritual Mechanism, enabling them to float and drift aimlessly through the fog.

That Spirit Immortal’s Abandoned Mansion was hidden deep within this very mist.

Ordinarily, this was an extremely well-hidden secret. Other Cultivators would never have stumbled upon it before the appointed time for the Heritage Mansion’s appearance.

Beiming Cang Xue had only discovered it by a stroke of luck. With guidance from her Spirit Immortal father, she had observed the celestial phenomena and learned that a Heritage Mansion was about to manifest somewhere within the mist.

But unexpectedly, the Spirit Immortal Incarnation from the Dongyang Immortal Alliance, who was stationed in the Lower Realm, had also detected the anomaly.

Fang Cheng flew through the cold, gloomy mist, passing through the massive, floating skeletons. Before long, he spotted the anomaly up ahead.

There, deep within the mist, a massive Palm Seal about a thousand feet wide was shockingly embedded in the sky.

It was surrounded by swirling clouds and mist. Without a careful search, one would never find this spot amidst the vast, endless fog blanketing the seabed.

The Palm Seal had shattered the void, creating an opening that looked like a pitch-black cavern. Inside was a dim, chaotic expanse filled with bizarre air currents. From a distance, the wind carried sounds like the wails of ghosts and howls of wolves.

But within that chaos, the phantom of an Immortal Mansion would occasionally flicker into view: a towering White Jade Gate, a lake with a glistening surface, a peach grove suffused with immortal energy, a wide and open plaza, and a series of grand, continuous palaces.

Compared to the ruins outside, and despite some signs of battle within, the Spirit Immortal’s Abandoned Mansion was remarkably well-preserved. It was obvious at a glance that these ruins had never been explored.

As he approached the Void Hand Seal, he saw dozens of Tribulation Realm Cultivators gathered in the void outside the seal. Their various auras shot into the sky, churning the mist and revealing a clear sky in the vicinity.

From Pan Lang’s Spiritual Memory, Fang Cheng learned that there were a full seventy-eight World Heavens in the vicinity of the Lingkong Celestial Ruins.

The number of Tribulation Realm Cultivators in each World Heaven varied, but most had no fewer than forty or fifty, similar to the Red Profound Realm.

And in prosperous and powerful World Heavens like Beiming Heaven and Yuelang Heaven, there were even more Cultivators who had entered the Tribulation Realm.

So, the once-rare Tribulation Realm Great Powers had become a rather common sight here in the Lingkong Celestial Ruins.

At present, the skull of an unknown Demon Beast, about three hundred feet wide and the size of a small hill, hung silently in front of the Void Hand Seal, blocking the path of the numerous Tribulation Realm Cultivators.

This giant skull had been converted into a majestic hall, its eye sockets serving as windows and the gaps between its sharp teeth as doors, giving it a primordial and primitive feel.

A burly, powerfully built woman in a silver robe sat enthroned in the great hall. She boomed in a rough voice, “I’m doing this for your own good! This Heritage Mansion is filled with peril. Any Cultivator below the Six Tribulations who enters without an expert’s protection is doomed to die. Now, all of you, get out of here!”

A sinister voice drifted over. “My brother and I have already passed the Seventh Celestial Tribulation. We would ask that Fairy Bao Yuan clear the way and allow us to enter.”

The crowd turned to look and saw two dense plumes of black smoke within the mist. Inside were two old men, their faces deathly pale and their frames skeletal and gaunt.

The two were dressed in sackcloth, with strands of paper money hanging from their temples. They radiated an astonishing demonic aura. They were none other than the Two Elders of Youxuan, whom Fang Cheng had met once before.

The silver-robed woman sneered. “You two are wanted fugitives in my Yuelang Heaven. If I weren’t on official business today, I’d take your lives right now. The fact that you dare to come here and act so brazenly shows you really don’t know what’s good for you.”

The Two Elders of Youxuan let out a grim laugh. They clearly dismissed her threat, yet they also seemed somewhat wary of this Female Cultivator.

From a distance, Fang Cheng halted his Escape Light and watched the scene unfold.

According to Pan Lang’s memories, this woman was a peculiar figure from Yuelang Heaven. Her spirit had been damaged in her youth, leaving her with a coarse, innocent personality devoid of any cunning. Despite this, she was born with a natural affinity for the Celestial Dao Origin. Her cultivation speed was incredible, and after breaking through to the Tribulation Realm, she had already passed the Eighth Celestial Tribulation.

Among all the Tribulation Realm Cultivators currently outside the Void Hand Seal, her Cultivation was the highest. It seemed the Dongyang Immortal Alliance had assigned her to guard this gate and prevent other Cultivators from entering the Spirit Immortal’s Abandoned Mansion.

Just then, another person piped up, “Fairy Bao Yuan, they say that priceless treasures belong to the virtuous. I find it strange that someone as virtuous as you, Fairy, would be willing to guard a gate for others and simply hand over the treasure.”

“Indeed! A person of great virtue like you, Fairy, must have deep karmic fortune. If you were to enter the Heritage Mansion, you would surely obtain a world-shaking immortal opportunity and one day ascend to the Spiritual Sky Realm.”

Another person chimed in, their voice laced with feigned sympathy, “It’s a shame that the Fairy was plotted against by her own people and stationed here, forced to miss out on such a heavenly opportunity. I truly feel this is an injustice on your behalf, Fairy!”

Hearing this, a ghostly light flickered in the eyes of the Two Elders of Youxuan. They sneered, “Fairy Bao Yuan, we heard you’re in love with someone else’s Dao companion and even got into a dispute, severely injuring eighteen School Principals of Xuanyuan Academy. Could it be that you’re being punished by being forced to guard the gate here because of that?”
