Chapter 614: Chapter 30: Ancient Ruins, Spirit Immortal Head

The fourth and third layers of the void might even rise to the level of the Eight Tribulations.

The final two layers were at the level of the Nine Tribulations!

For the first time ever, his Spiritual Mechanism Incarnation was on the verge of completely depleting its Thunder Pool Spiritual Power.

Fang Cheng looked toward the other side of the giant sphere formed by the Treasure Light Divine Prohibition.

The man in the green robe had been tailing him closely ever since the nineteenth layer of the void, and now he had also reached the seventh.

The man relied on a Compass that could be split in two. By separating the two halves by hundreds of miles, he could teleport freely between them, allowing him to escape the encirclement of the Golden Seal Jade Talismans. His method was far more cunning than Fang Cheng’s.

The Compass was a rare spatial Magical Artifact, and its Power of Attack and Destruction was not to be underestimated. When it came to breaking through the Treasure Light Divine Prohibition, it was nearly on par with Fang Cheng’s Taixu Sword Qi.

Feng Yan was in the eighth layer of the void.

She had already summoned her Cyan-Black Great Tomb, using it to tank the attacks of the Golden Seal Jade Talismans. She would then calmly break through the Treasure Light Divine Prohibition and advance toward the inner layers.

Fang Cheng had a faint suspicion that Feng Yan’s great tomb was inextricably linked to the legendary Undying Jade. No matter how much damage the tomb sustained, it would recover in an instant. As a result, she hadn’t expended much energy on her journey.

Fang Cheng thought of two possible solutions.

‘The first is to wander the void, dodging the attacks from the Golden Seal Jade Talismans, and wait for Feng Yan to enter the seventh layer. Then I can rendezvous with her and we can advance together.’

‘But that would give the man in the green robe the upper hand. If he gets to the sixth-rank Magical Artifact at the bottom of the pit first, trying to take it from him would be incredibly difficult.’

‘The second option…’

Fang Cheng took out Beiming Gang’s storage pouch and hesitated for a moment.

The second option was simple as well: have the Spiritual Mechanism Incarnation refine the corpse of the Tier Six Demon Bird. After replenishing its Magical Power, it could charge into the inner layers, breaking through all defenses with its sword until it smashed through every last Treasure Light Divine Prohibition.

Before entering the great pit, he had already refined the restrictive seal on the storage pouch, and an item inside had caught his eye.

It was a block of solid ice, about ten feet across. Frozen within it, shockingly, was the head of a beautiful woman.

The woman was breathtakingly beautiful, with a noble air and skin as fair and smooth as jade. But a gruesome gash marred her neck, and another shocking sword wound was carved between her brows.

The woman’s almond-shaped eyes were wide with a mixture of terror and defiance, a clear sign of the panic and despair she felt just before her death.

To Fang Cheng’s surprise, this was the head of a Spirit Immortal.

He had encountered the remains of the Demon Lord before, so he recognized the unique, vast, surging, and boundless terrifying aura that emanated from a Spirit Immortal Corpse.

This woman must have been a Spirit Immortal, brutally slain by an enemy during the fall of the Lingkong Celestial Ruins.

‘A choice between two: the Demon Bird corpse or the Spirit Immortal Head. Which one should I use?’

After a moment’s thought, Fang Cheng made his decision: he would refine the Spirit Immortal Head first.

‘The Demon Bird corpse is larger. I’ll save it for my second Spiritual Mechanism Incarnation…’

He took out the block of ice and shattered it with a palm strike. The eerily lifelike head instantly unleashed a terrifying divine light, as if trying to flee.

Dark red Demonic Qi erupted from Fang Cheng’s chest like a starving beast, pouncing fiercely to envelop the Spirit Immortal Head.

The dense Taishi Demon Qi bored directly into the wounds, causing a violent, vaporous reaction.

The Demonic Qi flickered like a raging fire. An endless stream of dark red Demonic Qi then flowed back from the Spirit Immortal Head’s mouth, eyes, and ears into Fang Cheng’s body.

In the distance, Pan Lang teleported back and forth, dodging the encirclement of the Golden Seal Jade Talismans several times. He finally broke open the Treasure Light Divine Prohibition of the sixth layer and leaped inside with his Inch Star Disc!

He shot a glance at Fang Cheng, a deep sense of apprehension flashing in his eyes.

Atop the Mountain and River Cauldron, Fang Cheng’s tall Profound Gold Body stood proudly. A beautiful head floated before him, from which an incredibly dense and nearly endless stream of dark red Demonic Qi surged forth, pouring into Fang Cheng’s body.

He let out a sharp cry. With a wave of his great sleeve, a sky full of Taixu Sword Qi roamed the void, in the blink of an eye intercepting the hundred armored soldiers formed by the Golden Seal Jade Talismans up ahead. He then urged the Mountain and River Cauldron to slam violently against the Treasure Light Divine Prohibition.

BOOM!

The Treasure Light Divine Prohibition, already struck dozens of times by his Sword Qi, shattered open under the heavy impact of the Mountain and River Cauldron, and Fang Cheng charged through the opening.

The sixth layer, the fifth, the fourth… While refining the Spirit Immortal Remains, Fang Cheng used his now-overwhelming Magical Power to advance with unstoppable momentum. He quickly overtook Pan Lang again, leaving the latter utterly shocked.

All Pan Lang could see was an ethereal streak of Sword Qi, trailing dense, dark red Demonic Qi. It leaped and flashed through the layers of the void, annihilating any Golden Seal Jade Talisman that stood in its path with a single strike.

Finally, the streak of Sword Qi pierced through the last layer of the Treasure Light Prohibition and entered the bottom of the great pit. It was now only a few thousand yards away from the ancient bell.

Fang Cheng’s figure manifested. With a single flash, he appeared beneath the Broken Ancient Bell, which was as large as a palace. The ancient inscriptions on its surface came into clear view.
